I’m 38+1 and I’m done already! I’m so uncomfortable, every time I sit down I feel like I’m sat on the babies head, every time I stand up I feel like my insides are going to fall out haha!!

The pelvic pain is unreal, walking is painful but if I sit down for too long that’s painful too! I’ve been having period like cramps for about 2 weeks, lightning crotch for about 3. Every time I go to the toilet I’m hoping my plug will come out but nothing!

Sorry for the moan! I love my baby already, do not get me wrong by my god I WANT HER OUT haha!! The thought of coming late and possibly having another 4 weeks of this is filling me with dread.

Anyone got any tips of how they got labour going that actually worked?

Thank you, we’re both doing well! She should be coming home either tomorrow or the next day xx

agteacht · 14/12/2019 03:29

Our little baby was born yesterday, sharing a birthday with the worst election result in history (imho) and Friday 13th!

Went into labour about 8pm on Wednesday, went to the hospital at 4am Friday morning and luckily was 4cm so stayed in. Laboured in the pool which was lovely but unfortunately when it came to delivery the baby was stuck and ended up in an emergency c-section.

A small price to pay for this beautiful little girl we have waited years to have. No name as of yet

agteacht · 14/12/2019 03:30

Huge congrats @StephRae - sounds like a similar experience

Samantha1712xx · 14/12/2019 07:35

@agteacht yay!!! Congratulations! I’m sure it was all worth it in the end! There seems to be a lot of naughty babies about!

I have been having contractions since yesterday morning. Haven’t slept 😩 fingers crossed she hurries up!

I keep having tightenings on and off, nothing in a pattern tho just a bit everywhere I dont know how I haven't sent my self in labour yet so nervous about going in for my induction tomorrow even tho I have had induction with my previous 2 so I know what I'm in for but like they say you never know and everytime is different also this is my first time it being earlier the other 2 times 1 I was over due and then one on due date think I'm over thinking every little thing

StephRae · 14/12/2019 10:54

Huge congratulations @agteacht! Yeah our experiences do sound similar and our little ones were born on the same day! I had to have to have a c section as she was showing signs of distress as her heart rate dropped every time I had a contraction which was really scary, they write monitoring everything and eventually said it would be best to have a c section. It was upsetting after so many hours of labour but all worth it to have her here safe and healthy 💗

agteacht · 14/12/2019 11:35

Thanks @Jowd92 and @Samantha1712xx ! You will both be fine, I was wrecking my head waiting and suddenly the action happened! And in the end the baby here is the main thing.

@StephRae I know how you feel. I did to 10cm with just gas and air and then had to have an epidural because of the emergency section. Ironic! But as you say the important thing is really just that they're here safely x

Samantha1712xx · 15/12/2019 02:29

No sleep second night in a row 😩 still getting contractions but not regular! Lost my plug also!

41+2 today, no signs...feel like such a failure

fonxey · 15/12/2019 13:10

Congrats @agteacht on your little girl.

@Samantha1712xx hope you will have yours soon.

@xTinkerbell you aren't a failure! I have had no true signs either apart from a rock hard bump every now and then but less and less!

It's frustrating. I'm 40+3 today. I dunno whether to all for sweep tomorrow or let it happen naturally.

xTinkerbell · 15/12/2019 13:13

My sweep last week failed because my cervix was completely closed 😭 and still quite far back. Going to let midwife have another go tomorrow but I’m not hopeful at all

Samantha1712xx · 15/12/2019 14:13

I thought my waters broke, when they examined me and took swabs to see if it was (it wasn’t) and half my plug came out then and been coming out ever since! So might be worth trying that haha!! Been having contractions since - hopefully it’ll be soon 3 days and I’m exhausted

No one is a failure! I went to 41+1 and thought it wouldn't happen, of course it did! Your babies will be here so soon ladies, stay positive x

StephRae · 15/12/2019 18:47

Finally got to take Lavender home, had several people visit at the hospital but tomorrow more family will get to meet her which will be nice 💗

xTinkerbell · 16/12/2019 21:34

Had some bloody discharge after sweep today but nothing since...starting to feel like an end is in sight though even if it is induction...by the weekend at the very latest I’ll be holding my baby

bobble53 · 16/12/2019 22:22

Fantastic news about the babies!! Keeping my fingers crossed for those who are still waiting.

My little boy is 5 days old now and we’ve had a rocky start with feeding. He lost 10.1% of his body weight and I’ve struggled massively with breast feeding. I took the decision today to put him on to formula and he’s like a different baby and I’m no longer dreading the night feed!

Naynay26 · 16/12/2019 22:34

I'm due Xmas day with my first, already been in hospital at 32 weeks to stop early labour, now cannot wait to just get her out. The pains are getting worse, head is fully engaged cant sleep, I have been told I'm in the early stages of labor but it could take weeks yet 😩

Samantha1712xx · 16/12/2019 22:50

So after a horrendous 4 day labour and a forcep delivery ending in stitches and quite a bit of blood loss, our little baby girl was born this morning at 39+6 weighing 7lb6oz born at 11:28 :)

Congratulations! Flowers

fonxey · 16/12/2019 23:36

Congrats Samantha! Surrey you had a hard time though.

I had the sweeeeeeeepy thing today. Apparently already effaced and dilated to nearly 2cm. Who knew!

But sure if anything is happening much... Belly keeps going to some but that's no pain or anything. Pelvis feels like it's made of concrete and very stiff.

Is this.. Well it's something right? Waiting for it to turn into something more solid.

I hope this just gets on with it i can't do seats of sitting about waiting for it to progress. Cone on body, I'm a get on with it kinda person... Work with me!

owlofathena · 17/12/2019 10:16

Congratulations Samantha! Enjoy every moment with your newborn.

I'm 39 weeks exactly today and feeling a bit down. My daughter was born at exactly 39 weeks but this little one is showing no signs of wanting to move. My daughter is getting fed up with my bump at the moment because she wants proper mummy cuddles but there just isn't any room.

agteacht · 18/12/2019 00:49

Yay congrats @Samantha1712xx you did it!!

agteacht · 18/12/2019 00:50

@fonxey sounds positive fingers crossed it's soon x

fonxey · 18/12/2019 03:34

The only thing that's healed is that I'm now just more uncomfortable and irritated than before but no real progress!

Belly continuously hard at night, on and off during the day, slightly achy but only in an uncomfortable way.

Nothing to me that suggests is doing anything!

agteacht · 18/12/2019 04:37

Sounds like BH @fonxey

How many days over now? Any show?
