Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

Hi Ladies Baby Isobella finally made her appearance on Friday the 24th of July at 14:32 she was only 7lbs. Pains started at 6am (thinking it was a false start again) I finally went to Maternity assessment at 11am I was already 5cm and she was born at 14.36pm! Very quick labour no stiches and a very healthy baby girl. We are over the moon! Good luck to you all tbank you for sharing this incredible journey with me xx

Yay!!! Huge congratulations to you! She is adorable and I love her name! So happy you went naturally and didnt have to be induced. Your labour sounds fab, hope mine is similar haha! I'm 40 weeks on tuesday and have a sweep on weds. I keep getting all the tightenings and cramps and upset stomach but nothing happening! I'm hoping the sweep will do the trick to get things moving. X

Hello ladies, I know it's been a while.
Firstly congratulations to all of you, hope you are all having a snugly lockdown with your bubbas.

Sorry I was MIA up till now, have had a rough time of it. I went into hospital with severe constipation at 34 weeks at the beginning of June and they did some blood tests and I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome. They told me my liver and kidneys were failing and that it was imperative that baby is born there and then.

I was prepared for EMCS under general anaesthetic and I have birth to my baby girl at 4 lb 1oz.

I was admitted to intensive care and had further complications and was transferred to the royal free hospital and subsequently spent 2 months in hospital. It was unbearable being away from my children and family. And no visitors due to Covid.

I'm glad to say I was discharged mid-August but was very weak and was unable to do much for my baby. I am getting stronger every day though and am on the road to a full recovery.

Really hope everyone and their little ones are doing well xxx

hiiii I'm new here I'm 4 weeks and 4 days and I've been having some pains in my lower back and front sides I feel like pulling . I have sickness throughout the day and certain smells and head flashes . I was wondering if all this was normal I was scared about eptoic pregnancy and my hcg was 53.27 !? Some advice would calm me down the cramping isn't bad as period cramps way less then that !

hermionelodge · 16/10/2020 16:44

@pottypotamus congratulations on the birth of your little girl. So sorry to hear you had such a horrible time of it. Sounds so scary, and so much worse due to covid! Its awful you couldnt have your family around you. So glad to hear you are now back home and recovering.

My little girl was 11 days late. I had the balloon induction and was sent home, the induction worked and I was back in the next day but she was coming too quick and was distressed. I dilated to 8cm in 2hours and was bleeding, the doctor was worried it was placental abruption so i ended up with an EMCS but I was lucky to be awake for this. It was a bit scary at the time but was definitely the best route for us. Turns out everything was fine and there was no cause for the bleeding. As a FTM I had no idea what to expect but I know it wasnt that! But hearing of other experiences, I know I'm very lucky. Hope you are keeping well and your little girl is thriving. Xxx

@angelinaxoxo congratulations. This all sounds pretty normal to me. I had a lot of cramping and pulling in the beginning. This is your uterus stretching and making room. Sometimes it was really painful for me and felt worse than period pains, along with lower back pain very early on. Good luck with your pregnancy

angelinaxoxo · 16/10/2020 17:28

@hermionelodge thank you so much you honestly made me feel better apparently I was just enetering my 4 week I think I ovulated later that's why my hcg was 53 even tho I thought I was 5 weeks😂😂 I appreciate you commenting

hermionelodge · 16/10/2020 17:33

You're welcome. It is such a scary time as you have no idea what's going on inside. I spent my first 12 weeks googling anything and everything - not a good idea. I had a few early scans due to spotting and my scans also measured me a week behind what I thought I should be, by my 12 week scan everything had caught up. I dont know what my hcg levels were at any point. Try not to panic too much, I know its easier said than done though.

pottypotamus · 16/10/2020 20:42

@hermionelodge
Sorry your birth was scary. As soon as the doctor mentions there's a possible risk to baby, you just want the baby out as quick as possible and it can seem a bit overwhelming. Glad the bleeding was random and nothing serious. Hope you and your little girl are doing well xx

@angelinaxoxo
The sickness and pains sound totally normal for early pregnancy. And the hcg levels really are only helpful when you've got more than one set the compare against eg results from 2-3 days apart so I wouldn't worry too much over those. Wish you all the best for rest of your pregnancy! x
