5 weeks Pregnant

Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

@hermionelodge Aww so our babies weighed the same bar a few oz at 34+1 that's exciting!

Honestly I worried so much about labour the 1st time as I didn't know what to expect but it was an amazing experience all be it painful Haha! I did it without the epidural the first time (they were too late to give me it) but I'm definitely requesting it as soon as I'm in the labour suit! Although I did that the last time too but it was November and apparently that's their busiest Month!
Aww great 2 weeks will fly in! Exactly the stress free time will do you wonders!

I had all my stuff for the hospital sitting in the baby's wardrobe as I wanna buy a new case but I keep feeling like I'm going to go into labour (probs just the pelvis pain) so I packed a case today will swap it all over when I get the new one on friday😂

I ordered a big bow for her to wear as a newborn I pre ordered it from Australia in May I got a shipping text on the 5th of June but it's still saying it's not separate from Australia yet I'm worried it won't get here in time. First world problems a!

Well I've got the midwife on Monday so I'll see what she says I net they tell me they can't do it I honestly have no idea how om going to manage 5 weeks in this agony! Or if I go over upto 7😭 xx

Its good to know the weight is normal. Rather to think some babys are born this weight! So small.

Yeah its definitely the unknown that makes it worrying, just no idea what type of pain to expect. Weirdly I am looking forward to it though, just to experience it.... although ask me that again during and after and I don't think I will be saying the same 🤣 oh is it really, maybe all the valentine's day babies haha. Well fingers crossed you get it this time!

Aw thats so exciting you are all packed and good to go! Yeah definitely a better idea having it ready now.

Oh no that's annoying though. Especially when you have something in your head and you think you have ordered in plenty time, its frustrating. I love bows on little girls, just so cute! I hope it gets despatched soon!

Oh that's not long to find out. Just really lay it on with her and hopefully she will feel really sorry for you and agree. It's not like you are asking just for the sake of it. Xx

Hey how is everyone?

I had my midwife appointment today she was checking my tummy and said baby's head is extremely low down and engaged she thinks I'm going to go early... told me to try and keep her in for at least another week and a half till I get to 37🤣 so maybe that explains the pain and pressure! X

@JackGordonsMummy that's very exciting! So no word on an induction? Has the midwife booked you in to see her again? At least you know the cause for all the pain and can see the light at the end now.

I'm struggling with my hips now and leg cramps! Sleeping is just not happening. I wake every hour and my dog is an early riser so shes up at 5.30 every day and its definitely taking its toll now. I guess this is life now though haha. Also feeling quite sore down below, almost like bruised. Fun times. Did your new hospital case arrive? X

Baby was SO wriggly yesterday! There's a few periods of the day where she does like to move quite a bit, but yesterday it felt like much more often than normal.

I've ordered some more clothes for her, which should arrive tomorrow, just need a last few things now - I'm trying to find some cute but basic babygrows, like a pack of 3 or 5 type thing, but we're trying to avoid white! Just feels like asking for trouble with any leaks etc! I can't find things I want at a price I like though, so maybe we'll have to spend a little more on those, and hope that she fits them for more than the 0-3 month tag...

Soo... after being admitted to hospital on Tuesay after going in with what I thought was a UTI the dr noticed I was having contractions. Well that was up until 6am today... I've been sent home cos they STOPPPED! Honestly 12 hrs ago I thought I was bringing my baby home today they were that strong... So spice curry for dinner and a big walk it is! ANY ADVICE WELCOME I'm so disappointed 😭

Aw that's disappointing! Hopefully it wont be too long! I'm really uncomfortable now. I feel loads of pressure and I'm sleeping even less now as it hurts any position and any time I move. Finally finished work today so would like a week or two break but then I'm happy for baby to be evicted! X

I'm getting a lot more pressure low in my pelvis now, like she's properly pressing in sometimes. Next midwife appointment is on Tuesday so I'll be interested to see then if the MW thinks baby's head is starting to engage. I know 37 is the officially 'at term' point, so I don't want to rush her out before then, but I do hope she comes sooner rather than later over the next few weeks; DH & I are very ready for her to arrive now! Just full of anticipation for this little one who we can feel moving around all the time.

What week are you on now @WeeScottishWife? I was 3/5 engaged at my last midwife appt at 35 weeks. Dont have another one now til the 15th when I will be 38 weeks. I feel like my bump is still really high though. Still getting shortness of breath and feet in ribs but then I also have crazy pressure on my pelvis and sometimes feel like the babys head is bouncing off it when I walk! I have a couple of things still to organise and clean etc but hoping to get it all done next week and I'm ready. Are you all organised? X

@hermionelodge I'm 36+2 now, so this is my 36 week appointment coming up, then I think I'm the same as you with it being 38 weeks for my next one.

Hoe is everyone doing? I'm still so dish was back at hospital today. I lost my mucas plug yesterday at 3pm and was contracting regularly since then I was up all night they got really strong... but when I went in today I'm still only 2cm dilated and my cervix is still quite far back 😭😭. The midwife tired to sweep me as best she could as they are still far back... got a few cramps afterwards then had dehydracodine that eased it. I came home still getting the odd cramp but the contrsctions have stopped again 😭😭 so different from my 1st labour I had a sweep and went into labour straight away grrr.... x

Hello, that sounds very frustrating! How are you getting on now? Hoping you have had some more progression. I'm now officially full term so just waiting. Ideally I would like baby to come around week 39/40 but who knows Haha. Getting a lot of pressure and lightning crotch! Along with the odd cramp here an there but nothing else. Bags all packed now and cleaned the buggy and car seat etc yesterday so pretty much good to go whenever baby decides to make an appearance. X

I'm 38 weeks today... I had DS at 39 weeks so hopefully she comes next week at the latest I can hardly move i don't know how I'd get on at 40+ weeks. Still just the same all day pain and cramps and the odd tightness but no more contractions unfortunately! My case is in the boot ready for the next trip hopefully the next time I go to the hospital I come home with the baby haha! I'm the same all ready just a waiting game. I have my Midwife on Monday hopefully she will check me and see if my cervix is soft yet or if I'm more than 2cm! So exciting I can't believe our babies will be here soon! It has went in pretty quickly x

That's so annoying! I can imagine you just want baby out now, you must feel very fed up. Haha fingers cross, will send positive vibes your way. I know, the time had flown by! And its good timing a lot of the restrictions now seem to be lifting which is a bonus for family! X

Ah I feel so bad for you! Must be awful! I really hope the sweep works for you on Monday! I've been having cramps on and off but nothing regular. I feel like baby is lying really low. Have midwife on Friday so will see what she is saying. I keep panicking thinking I am having reduced movements but have read a couple of really sad stories lately which I think is making me paranoid. I have one week of annual leave left so ideally I would like baby to hang on til then, but at the same time I would like baby to hurry up and be on the outside. Although I doubt my fears would subside lol, just new fears. X

Finally I'm 39 weeks today only 1 week till my due date its so close yet far... roll on Mondsy but hopefully I go myself before that. Yesterday was another day of on and off painful contractions I've read up about this it's called Latent Labour I wrote a thread about it another Lady on here had it happen from 37 weeks right up to 42 weeks.

Aww @hermionelodge I would just phone Maternity Assessment about the reduced movement I had that happen with DS he was always so active then one day I only felt him once or twice they took me in and put me on the monitor he was fine bit because I was 39+1 they just gave me a sweep and were gonna induce me the next day but I went into labour myself after the sweep. I agree that the read up and googling has probably got you in a panic. X

5 weeks of latent labour sounds horrendous!! I really hope you dont have that! Have you been trying all the old wives tales to get things moving? I have heard a lot about activating labour videos on YouTube, but if you're in a lot of pain it might not be helpful for you.

I was meant to have a scan this week but I got the date wrong and missed it! So now keep thinking to myself that the scan will have picked up on something... theres no reason, just my mind in overdrive. I'm booked back in for monday and have my midwife tomorrow. Have felt plenty movement today, I think the baby just has the odd lazy day to keep me on my toes! X

Hey everyone im 39+5 today had my membrane sweep yesterday I was still 2 cm cervix was still a bit back so the modwife "pulled it forward". The cramps started an hour or so later and continued into what felt like early labour. I was up all night with a bad stomach, cramping and tightness... painful but not painful enough to go to hosp... seems to have eased this morning still crampy but nothing major. It says online can take 48hours to work (If it works) but with DS was in active labour like 24 hours later early labour straight after it. Looks like I will end up being induced! I'm back on Monday to be booked in for induction x

Hi, I’m booking you can help. I think I might be having very early pregnancy symptoms but annoyingly I haven’t tracked my last few cycles so not sure when AF is due, thinking maybe this weekend.

I think I ovulated around 6th of this month (2 weeks ago) and last week I had sharp pains in the right side. For the last 3 days I’ve had period pains all day but still no period.

Do you think I could be pregnancy?
