I hate the first trimester

Thought I'd create a topic for everyone to have a moan about the first trimester! As much as I am grateful for being pregnant, I frickin hate all these shite symptoms! Loads of cramping and back ache, the nausea and tiredness, the constant knicker checking and fear of miscarriage ! I am hating this and just want the next few weeks to hurry the eff up so I can roll on to the 2nd trimester! Where are all these beautiful symptoms I grew up reading about???? Anyway, who else hates this period??

My first 16 weeks were hell. I wa constantly dizzy, couldn’t keep food or water down, was sick first thing in the morning, bringing up stomach acid.
But now that baby is here, I think I’d endure it again. 🤷‍♀️

loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 19:43

@7Worfs so happy to hear that it is all worth it! Just really hard to see it from where I am sitting. I'm sure it will all be fine just sick and tired of the symptoms x

Yep, I was moaning so much... even said I regretted it! Shock Typical conversations were:
DH: I’m so happy!
Me: Good for you! [drop moodily on the sofa]

Anyone: How are you?
Me: Praying for a merciful death.

I laugh now but it was horrible

loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 19:53

@7Worfs haha I feel the same! I want that pregnancy glow already, I feel like a hibernating oompa loompa 😂

I am 10 weeks tomorrow with my 4th and this has been horrendous.
I am bone crushingly tired, I feel sick ALL the time but also hungry every 2 hrs but don't want to eat. I can't drink much so i think I am dehydrated as well.

I have a constant headache, I miss wine and just eating nice food.

It really doesn't help that this pregnancy was unplanned so I am struggling with that also. I cry every day.

DH just doesn't get it.

MissPepper8 · 28/09/2019 19:57

Second baby here, I'm 15 and 3 and I really struggled at the start even got hospitalised at 6 weeks as i have hyperemesis but I literally couldn't operate as it took all my energy with the vomiting.

I will say I think I hit end of 14 weeks and i had a bit of an energy boost, Ive not been faint/unwell so much and I wanted more than a cracker to eat.

It will calm down when placenta starts to take on more of the work at 14/15 weeks, I'm still quite tired and if you're not so lucky as I am still chucking up 😂.

We're all different though, you'll start to feel better soon x

Tetrus · 28/09/2019 20:01

I'm 7 weeks now, and weirdly I don't have any symptoms except sore boobs. At least I think I don't... I've a 15 month old too so I'm used to feeling shattered and my back is in bits anyway!

Sandsnake · 28/09/2019 20:08

Oh God, it’s so monstrously shit isn’t it? If it’s any consolation then I’m now 21 weeks and much better. Feel pretty normal most days and there’s also the bonus of lots of lovely kicks. Hope that you feel better soon Smile

loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 20:24

@fatisnotafeeling I feel you, it is so draining emotionally and physically.. the best excuse to sleep early and have a cry every now and again... have you had any cravings yet? I'm still waiting

OP posts:
loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 20:34

@MissPepper8 awww I really hope it gets better quickly, glad you are feeling better x

OP posts:
loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 20:54

@Tetrus so lucky, good for you though as I can't imagine having all the shite symptoms and looking after someone else lol x

fatisnotafeeling · 28/09/2019 20:55

@loveyourself87 I'm not so much craving just fancy eating certain things like tuna and jacket potatoes. I can't drink all day but by the evening I want ice cold orange squash.

I have been in bed ALL day today and feel awful and like such a failure as a parent. DH is amazing and picks up the slack but I feel like such a failure because I can't do anything.

loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 21:35

@fatisnotafeeling oh don't feel like a failure, you are certainly not! It's so hard feeling rubbish at this stage, you can't control how you feel darling! Rest as much as you need, you're growing a human being and that shite is hard work! Chin up lovely x

2nd baby, only 7 weeks along and already I am

Exhausted
Achy
Tired
Forgetful
Sleepy
Hungry
Moody
Bloated
Nauseous
Crazy heartburn

loveyourself87 · 28/09/2019 22:25

@Woodlandwitch the never ending list of crappy and exhausting symptoms! Honestly, if I could afford not to work I would stay in bed all day and hibernate.. I used to be so active, gym 4 times a week, good diet, looked after myself and now I just feel like a total slob! I don't even recognise the person I am emotionally! Fingers crossed it eases up soon xx

Hated the first 15 weeks! Dreading it for whenever I have my next one if I'm honest. Blush

Mummylanie3 · 29/09/2019 00:13

I'm same pregnant with my 4th and I don't remember it been this bad with the other 3 I'm tired constantly my boobs feel like there going to explode and I feel sick 24 hours a day even waking in night I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and can't wait for the first trimester to be over and hopefully start feeling normal I've also got thrush which I've never had before in my 35 years but started last week with it

bobble53 · 29/09/2019 09:01

My first trimester was just me being worried, I wish I’d have enjoyed it more. Unfortunately my worst sickness came in the second and I’ve been hospitalised in the third with it! I really don’t know where this glow is that people keep talking about!!

loveyourself87 · 29/09/2019 09:16

@Mummylanie3 I think we have the same dates eeekk how exciting, I'm 9 weeks tomorrow :-). It's not a nice feeling, wish I could enjoy it more but constantly worries about every little cramp! X

OP posts:
loveyourself87 · 29/09/2019 09:19

@bobble53 how far are you ? I hope it does get better. The sickness sucks sooo much! I broke down last night whilst waiting for my takeaway and explained to my DP how I'm feeling, he was so sympathetic but I just don't feel like myself, I feel so lazy and tired and sick and crampy and moody! My period would have been due tomorrow and I'm soo scared because the cramps are not nice 🙈

OP posts:
bobble53 · 29/09/2019 09:23

@loveyourself87 I am just coming up to 31 weeks now. Once you feel movement and see baby wriggling it does make the sickness worth it...just! It’ll all be worth it eventually though!

Mummylanie3 · 29/09/2019 09:38

@loveyourself87 I'm 9 weeks today got my midwife appointment Friday but already had 2 scans at epu

loveyourself87 · 29/09/2019 09:50

@bobble53 aww that sounds so sweet haha.. well here's to a safe and healthy journey xx

OP posts:
loveyourself87 · 29/09/2019 09:51

@Mummylanie3 wow one day apart lol! I have my booking app tomorrow, had a scan at EPU last Sunday as woke up with bright red blood and clots but saw heartbeat and the little baby x
