In comparison to your due date?

I am only 30 weeks but it seems a lot of people go over their 40 week due date and I wondered those who have had babies before, when did they arrive in comparison to your due date?

Dd came at 34 weeks. Was a bit of a shock!

ScatteredMama82 · 23/09/2019 13:51

40 + 5 and 40 + 3

Merename · 23/09/2019 13:52

DC1, went into labour on my due date and she was born 2 days later. DD2, went into labour 13 days late and born in 2hrs! It’s impossible to know. Due date is an average. Some countries have a ‘due month’ which I think would be much better and cause less anxiety. No matter how chilled you are, it’s hard not to focus around that one day.

Amys136 · 23/09/2019 13:53

DD came exactly on her due date. Waters broke at 12:15am and she was born at 9:11pm

shelikesemwithamoustache · 23/09/2019 13:55

First baby: due date
Second date: due date + 2 hours.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 23/09/2019 13:56

10 days late, was induced 8 days over then took me 2 days to have him.

VapeVamp12 · 23/09/2019 13:58

Wow so other than chirpychirpy pretty much all were due date or after!

I think I keep worrying that i'll still be at work and i'll go into labour on a train or something.... trying to work right up until my due date

First (and only) pregnancy - DD arrived 10 days early.

SillyBub · 23/09/2019 14:00

DC1 & DC2 both 40+6

Anerak · 23/09/2019 14:03

Dd1 40 weeks exactly
DS 39w+4
DD2 41w+1
There is no way to tell. However every day after 40 weeks I found hard

Cornishmumofone · 23/09/2019 14:03

40+13... I was induced as DD didn't want to come out!

hm1610 · 23/09/2019 14:03

12 days lateEnvy

EmilyStar · 23/09/2019 14:04

I’ve had 3 DC and the furthest along I’ve ever got has been 37+3.

HopefulButScared · 23/09/2019 14:08

41+6 Angry Induced at 41+5 and told it would be at least 2 days but he had other ideas (thankfully!)

HopefulButScared · 23/09/2019 14:09

I will add that he was completely stuck and I was told afterwards that it's very unlikely I would have gone into labour naturally, so not a completely normal situation.

Robs20 · 23/09/2019 14:10

40+6

crosser62 · 23/09/2019 14:13

Both arrived 3 weeks early, thank you preeclampsia Hmm

ZigZaggyZoo · 23/09/2019 14:13

I read 85% of births are after the due date. I can't remember the circumstance of that figure though; if that's 85% of natural births or all births. I had advice to think of my due date as a "due from" date rather than a "due by" date which helped when dc was nearly 2 weeks late!

inwood · 23/09/2019 14:15

31 weeks - slightly extreme!

Looks like that is a good idea from the PP's above!

40+6, 40+4 and 42+2.

Rubberyduck · 23/09/2019 14:17

42 weeks on the nose. Went into labour the night before i was due to be induced. Didn't get me anywhere though as I had 3days of labour, 😱 they're all different though. My sis boy was born on due date.

I am preg now with number two so hoping this one isn't such a long wait!

BeanBag7 · 23/09/2019 14:18

Someone else on here said 85% are after their due date but that's definitely rubbish.
NCBI suggest that 60% are born on or before their due date, therefore 40% after. Which is what you would expect if given births are included and very few women who past 42 weeks.

When did your baby actually arrive?
BeanBag7 · 23/09/2019 14:18

P.S. my DD was born at weeks

Mrsbclinton · 23/09/2019 14:19

2 days early
11 days overdue
10 days oerdue
