In comparison to your due date?

I am only 30 weeks but it seems a lot of people go over their 40 week due date and I wondered those who have had babies before, when did they arrive in comparison to your due date?

38+3 as I had to be induced but of course I don't know but I really didn't think he would wait until 40 weeks. The way I was feeling before my induction I felt he was ready lol x

Celebelly · 23/09/2019 18:05

Apparently only around 4% come on their due date! So the midwives told me when I was in anyway.

ChodeMcwinkle · 23/09/2019 18:16

40+6

Shelby30 · 23/09/2019 18:17

41wks and only coz I was induced and even then she had to be forcibly removed by c section!

Ladies in my family seem to have babies a week early so I was gutted!

Stravapalava · 23/09/2019 18:22

1st - 40+4 (after a 2 day labour!)
2nd - 39+1 - elective CS

mistermagpie · 23/09/2019 18:49

38 weeks for DS1, 39 weeks for DS2.

I'm due now in December and sort of hoping for a repeat of the above, I can't imagine being two weeks late!

Jesse70 · 23/09/2019 19:00

I was told 3%on due date when mine was born on hers

Ellaxe · 23/09/2019 19:06

My lb came at 40+6 but early labour started 40+2!

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 23/09/2019 19:09

First 40+6, second 38+1

missy111 · 23/09/2019 19:11

33 weeks!!

SwimSwim · 23/09/2019 19:16

40+4 & 40 +12 ... I believed everyone when they said the second one will come earlier 😭🤣

CrazyCatLady159 · 23/09/2019 19:17

3 days early

Em3978 · 23/09/2019 19:52

40+21, yep, 43 weeks on the dot.

Elective CS, should have been a week earlier but they 'forgot to book me in.' Hmm

Not done/doing it again.

NoParticularPattern · 23/09/2019 19:56

40+12 and 40+8. Was induced at 11 days over first time and she arrived early hours of 12th day. Second time I had some mild cramps at a week over, got a bit more regular by 9am the next day. Headed to hospital at 11 and had him before 12. Think I’ll have the next ones at home!!!

Angelinthenightx · 23/09/2019 20:00

40+1 (DS's due date was my birthday, so I crossed my legs to make sure we didn't have to share a cake 😁)

WhoArtinHeaven · 23/09/2019 20:03

DC1 born at 39 weeks
DC2 born at 39+6 weeks

catsandkid · 23/09/2019 20:24

40+4 ... woke up to contractions 3 mins apart but wasn't sure it was actually labour!

VapeVamp12 · 25/09/2019 09:39

I’m quite shocked some have gone so far past 40 weeks, I always thought they didn’t let you go that far! I’m due 30th November - maybe I’ll have a little Xmas baby!

There is no letting you. They can advise you but it’s your body and your choice. You can have additional monitoring instead.

Merename · 25/09/2019 11:32

@VapeVamp12, I remember well during my first pregnancy how empowered I felt when someone spoke to me about it not being a case of medical staff ‘letting’ you do things - it’s your body and your baby and as long as not outrageous, it’s your choice about what happens as you go over. You will meet some midwives who really promote your own choice and decision making, and others who are more controlling.

Many people are wary of induction unless clearly medically necessary, as it can be more painful and result in more interventions, and it’s a good idea to weigh up the risks of induction, versus the risks of going beyond 2weeks - placenta can reduce in function, but this is not a given and they can monitor you more intensely to make sure it’s still functioning well.

That said, having gone to the wire at 13 days over with my second, I didn’t want to wait any longer, and didn’t want to face having to be assertive with health staff about my views, so I would have gone for induction even though I didn’t really want to, thankfullyshe appeared at the 11th hour! It may not change your decisions but it’s good to know your rights and that it’s no one else’s decision to ‘let’ you take one or other course of action.

CountSnackula · 25/09/2019 11:34

38+4.

It was a bit of a shock, to be honest. I worked until 36 weeks and then thought I'd have four to six weeks of lolling around at home like a seal. DD had other ideas.

Nelly325 · 25/09/2019 11:43

40+4

ohcarriemathison · 25/09/2019 12:54
