Oh @newbabyyy2019 what a beautiful little girl you've had!Hope your not in too much pain...I'm sure shes worth it all for you!Congratulations x

userabcname · 26/09/2019 07:15

@Frizzy1986 I read the other day that the most likely day to have your baby (based on when women typically go into labour) is 7 days before your due date - so 39 weeks I guess. But then I've also looked at those statistic chart things that say which day is most likely you'll go into labour and the highest probability is after 40 weeks so who knows!!! Maybe the 39w average includes women who are induced/ have elcs etc and the other is spontaneous labour? I don't know.

HJWT · 26/09/2019 07:29

My only problem with the whole 'due date' thing is from when I ovulated I am not actually due till the 27TH!! But the baby obviously measured bigger same as DD!! So I think ill be induced after my Due date x

OP posts:
Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 08:12

I don't know when I ovulated at all. Based on my cycle length it would be 5th Oct but measurements gave due date of 1st Oct. Was same with dd though. Cycle said 13th Jan, but they gave her a due date of 10th Jan. She appeared on Xmas Eve.

@figuringitout I'm trying to remind myself it's a due period, I'm just so fed up now. The what feels like continuous braxton hicks make it all so uncomfortable.
Thats a good sign having a show isn't it. I've not had anything at all. I'm trying to do a few active things, but it really aggravates my hips so I'm limited. I'm trying to do cleaning on my hands and knees and bounce on my ball lots.
Dd is super excited. She keeps telling me she can't wait until baby arrives, and when will baby arrive. Its tough explaining to her that it could be any day now or in 2 weeks!

@katnissk well I'm past the 39 weeks so I guess that the probability of me giving birth does increase with each day. Just wish it came sooner than later.

Em39ma · 26/09/2019 08:42

It’s all a lottery with when they arrive. We can put a study together once there all out and see it matches any official ones.
I ovulated late because of the miscarriage and had a period just 2 after ovulation. Midwife didn’t believe me, but when I had my early scan for bleeding. They measured me exactly on the dates I said were right. So moved me forward from 28th October to the 19th October, I had worked out the 20th but near enough.

cattaxi · 26/09/2019 09:29

Morning! How is everyone? I’m hoping for a calmer day today. Ds is much better, but still off school. It’s going to be tough to keep him entertained! Maybe we’ll go for a walk later if the rain stays away.

I think due dates are such a con! With ds, I tried to think about it as a 4 week period where the baby was likely to arrive. Much more helpful than fixing on 1 day. Of course, I did get fixed on it & found it very frustrating when I went over!
This time, i’m The opposite. I have my section booked for 39+3 and want baby to stay firmly in so he’s fully cooked.

The only sure thing I suppose is that some of us will be late & some will be early! I bet none of our babies arrive on their actual due dates 😂

Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 12:44

@cattaxi I'm glad ds is much better. Hopefully the rain doesn't hit like it has here so you can at least go outside for a bit.
I managed to take the dog on a walk round the estate (only about 15 mins) and got back right as the heavens opened.

Anyone else find that they can't feel the baby movements as much. Baby is still moving fine (I can see my tummy going) but it's like the nerves are a bit immune to it as even when my tummy is jumping like crazy, i don't feel it as much as I used to. I think I'm stretched to my limit.

secretlyhermione · 26/09/2019 12:47

I've read that the probability of babies arriving on their "due date", is 5% so it's really very low! Due period for what is considered a full term babh is usually between 37-42 weeks, so that's quite a long stretch! This could technically take me to the end of October as my due date is the 17th but I'm hoping I go near enough!

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 13:09

I always thought when people had babies early they had just got their conception dates slightly mixed up but with DD we conceived her through IUI so we know the exact dates of conception right down to the time 😂 and she was born at 36+2 with me going into spontaneous labour so think it’s just your luck when they decide they want to descend!

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 13:20

Just curious what all you lovely ladies think. I’ve had just a couple of occasions in the last 2 weeks where I was getting braxton hicks but no cramping whatsoever.

Last night around 6pm onwards and then just now I have been getting what I would describe as a dull ache on and off on my lower abdomen. No back pain or proper cramping, just a little niggle that I’m aware of if that makes sense. Baby moving around plenty. Anyone else had this or have an explanation? I’m wondering if it’s maybe just things stretching etc. I’m not really getting too many braxton hicks but every time I stand up and start walking around my stomach goes tight and I feel quite a bit of pressure low down

Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 13:47

@slinkyreptile I get a lot of braxton hicks and I mean a lot. Several times a day I get a period of my tummy going rock hard for a minute or 3 before relaxing, and it can then happen on and off for 20 mins. No cramping at all either.
I also get a dull ache down low either towards the front or in my bum. Mostly when I'm up and walking around.
I'd be interested to see what other people think it is, but I'm convinced it's just baby's position.

Maryrobinson81 · 26/09/2019 13:56

@Slinkyreptile I was like that on Saturday, a dull ache off an on, it seemed to go away after I went to the toilet for number 2 Blush so I think might have just been that for me.
I too get the tight stomach if I’m walking about lots. I haven’t had the dull cramps though again since Saturday.

Maryrobinson81 · 26/09/2019 13:58

I also think baby doing things with arms and hands down low can cause a bit of a dull pain, I swear sometimes she’s trying to claw her way out!!

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 14:26

Thanks ladies. Haha @Maryrobinson81 I’ve had quite a few occasions where I get actual cramping and within 10 mins I find myself sitting on the toilet. Sorry for TMI but my bowel movements have been a lot more regular and softer than usual which keeps getting me excited thinking it’s the prelabour clearout but nothing yet. I think you guys are probably right - the ache must just be baby’s movements since he is sitting so low down. Typical boy causing trouble Grin

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 26/09/2019 17:51

Another one here with lots of BH cramping since Sunday and what feels like vag daggers.
Nothing happening yet other than that.
Midwife appointment in the morning though so I'll let you know if she comments on it.

SRK16 · 26/09/2019 18:13

Getting very nervous/excited for c section. Saw midwife today to go through the pre-op stuff.
I forgot to ask her and wondering if any of you know... with an ELCS what is the etiquette for shaving your pubic area?! I know they will do this but not sure if it’s expected / recommended you try and have a go yourself. I can’t see a thing down there so have been blindly trimming with an electric shaver but there is no way I’d get a clean shave. And does the whole thing come off or just to a certain point?! I’m not sure why I’m so fixated on this of all things!

Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 18:19

@srk16 my friend had an elective and was specifically asked to shave the top area. Think she got a mirror and managed to do it herself.

cattaxi · 26/09/2019 20:28

Thanks @Frizzy1986 he’s been much better today. But started getting really snotty before bed. Gah! I keep telling myself it’s better to get it out the way before the baby comes. But I’m so over him being ill & grumpy.
We only made it as far as the village shop for a comic. Walking any further was a bit beyond us both.
I feel like the movements get more intense every day. They are so uncomfortable. It took hours at the hospital yesterday to get a baseline trace for him because he was so active. The midwife and dr commented on how active he is.

I have no idea @Slinkyreptile, as I never had anything with ds until I was on the drip. But I’m assuming that any cramping / discomfort etc at this stage could be a good sign that your body is gearing up for something. If only it could tell you what & how long!

I’m having an elective too @SRK16. Kind of assuming they tell you all that stuff at the pre-op. I can’t for the life of me remember what happened to my pubes last time! My scar is just above the top of them.

Hope everyone is ok tonight. I’ve caught up with the mountain of washing from yesterday’s Puke fest by now. Feeling a bit less chaotic! Hopefully ds can go to school tomorrow & I can sort this house & the rest of the baby stuff in case of an early appearance.

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 20:34

@ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy vag daggers are the worst - especially when in company and they see you pull a face and ask what’s wrong haha

@srk16 I personally like to keep on top of things down there as I don’t feel clean otherwise. Have been using a mirror for a while now with an electric shaver with no issues Smile

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 20:37

@cattaxi glad to hear you got the washing out the way. It’s all the small things that add up and stress you out. At least now you get to focus on the gorgeous tiny baby stuff and ooh and aah at it Grin always nice to get something else ticked off the list

HJWT · 26/09/2019 20:40

@Slinkyreptile I have a LOT of pain down below, pelvic pain, pain in my bum, pain just above my bum in my back!! Last night I had severe lower back pain that was coming round the front, I even rang my sister just to warn her incase and it turned into Braxton hicks so I went to bed... still pregnant 🥴

Really struggling to walk now with all the down below pain which is getting me down, I didn't have any of this with DD just lots of hip pain 😪

@SRK16 I also shave with a mirror at this point and just by feeling! Its really hard 🤣 But I would not want to give birth with a bush! I worry if I need stitches they won't do it right if they can't see past the bush! Haha xx

Slinkyreptile · 26/09/2019 20:50

@HJWT - I can just see a new thread trending ‘AIBU to give birth with a bush’ Grin

Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 20:58

I feel so uncomfortable. Heartburn is shocking right now.
This is my current bump state. I don't think I can stretch anymore!!
Someone please pray for this baby to decide to get a wriggle on as it's refusing to listen to me.

Due October 2019 Thread 2 💙💖 babies are coming x
Frizzy1986 · 26/09/2019 21:02

@HJWT that's cracked me up. I have literally done a bit of trimming and that's all. I was the same last time. Im kinda low maintenance on the beauty front lol. No makeup, scruffy hair and only trim down there (except clearing the edges for my swimsuit)
I def gave birth full bush last time. It was probably 70s style 😂 I ripped like anything but midwife could easily see and when I had surgery I think they may have slightly shaved the area, but the surgeon was wearing his zoom spectacles so he coped fine with stitching.

SRK16 · 26/09/2019 21:13

😂 I won’t have a full bush as the trimming is relatively successful I think (even with a mirror I can’t bloody see, bump is so big and angles are tricky- last trim ended up partly bald by accident but then totally missed some other areas, it’s a strong look). Have read mixed things about some people being asked to shave and others not as can increase infection? I’ll go for another trim and hope for the best. DH offered to shave me which made me laugh as he’s refused to help me paint my toenails! I’m def not looking sexy so don’t think he’s got any ideas that it could lead anywhere 😳

@HJWT also getting lots of pain, was awake last night with such bad period pain I was convinced something was starting! But no, baby not even engaged. Walking is horrible, sitting is horrible, lying is horrible...

@Frizzy1986 it does get so uncomfortable. I can’t believe how hard it is to manoeuvre with the bump. Remind me how much longer you have? Also I have a hilarious mental image of surgeon with zoom lenses now

@Slinkyreptile dare you to start that thread!

@cattaxi yes I thought they’d tell me about shaving but wasn’t mentioned at all and I completely forgot to ask. I think in addition to trimming I’ll bring my razor just in case?!
