Thanks for the new thread @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue and hope you had a good birthday!

Me:
Age 29
DS aged 19 months
6 early mcs - 3 before DS, 3 before this pregnancy. Early scans show I am 9 weeks today and the idea is finally sinking in. Taking aspirin as a precaution but no abnormal test results.

Currently have a hideous cold thanks to DS and hosting a party tomorrow - dreading it and looking forward to it in equal amounts!

Shit @Avocuddles I didn't mean to scare you Sad I just copied my 'about me' from the last thread. You're going to be fine! I was about 8 days out and in my case knew I couldn't be that behind as we didn't DTD in that time frame. You probably ovulated later than you thought or the measurements are just slightly out - it does happen! I'm so sorry for adding to your worry xxxx

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Had a lovely day at work, went out for lunch, and then DH, DD and I are going to London zoo tomorrow! Can't wait for her to see all the animals! Just hope I'm not too tired walking round all day! Confused

Great news on the scan and another thread boy @coconutlatte44!

Lovely to hear from you @Laney79!

I have to have the GD test too @Beaglemum93 and had it last time. It's not very pleasant (drinking a gross drink on an empty stomach!) but I didn't have it last time and hope I don't this time!

Awwww @avocuddles I got worried about my yolk sac and baby when ruskispy posted about enlarged yolk sac. Mine looked massive on my 8 week scan. That's the problem I think sometimes with a thread of people who have suffered losses. You see every single kind of issue and then think it could apply to you. It will most likely be fine, the scans really are so inaccurate when they're so tiny. It's really good that you're getting a scan though. Sending you my thoughts xx

Avocuddles · 06/09/2019 08:37

Thanks @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue and @rubyroot for the reassurance. I know my dates can't possibly be that far out (I know frer's are great but even they can't get a positive 2DPO!), so I'm hoping that the measurements were out. I certainly feel as pregnant as ever, so I'm really hoping it's doing plenty of growing. You're right, if it wasn't for the obsessive cycle tracking and time spent on these forums / googling then I would be none the wiser and a lot calmer. I guess I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for bad news, but I really really hope that it isn't. This whole experience is agony!

rubyroot · 06/09/2019 08:49

@avocuddles I do wonder if babies just sometimes grow at different rates as all three of mine have measured behind on early scans but been right on my dates later on I know one was proper poorly, but even that one had caught up by 12 weeks. Hopefully this current one is going to be good at my 13 week scan. Sounds great that you feel very pregnant though that's a good sign, perhaps baby is doing a lot if growing and catching up so he/she can impress you at next scan.

janey15 · 06/09/2019 08:52

Thanks for the reassurance about pains everyone It's so difficult to relax when you can feel something and your imagination starts to show you horror stories.

@Avocuddles I've literally just read a thread where someone was way behind at the 6 week scan then had caught up at 8 weeks. I've got this awful thing where when I read positive stories I think everything will be ok for me but then if I read a negative outcome I feel like I've ruined my bad luck and something like that might happen to me Confused This is completely irrational and a bit silly as I'm not superstitious at all but this pregnancy thing makes me go a bit crazy!

Well I seem to have got on top of the nausea a bit now I've regularly been taking the tablets but they make me feel very weak and light headed so still don't feel up to much. I've very bored of watching tv!

Avocuddles · 06/09/2019 11:12

@janey15 that's good to hear. These threads are wonderful in so many ways but in others they really aren't always that helpful for anxiety. The reality is that there will always be a disproportionate volume of ladies who've had bad experiences here - it is after all what brought us together in the first place - which means that there are often not as many good news stories to provide comfort and support.

I'm going to tell a colleague today about what is going on as feel like I need at least one person to understand why I'm perhaps not fully 'myself'. Meanwhile - positive pants on!

janey15 · 06/09/2019 13:35

Just had a call from the midwife to arrange my booking in appointment. The first thing she said was 'so you've got another child'... er no I had a miscarriage?
I know it says this is my second pregnancy on my notes but it also says 1 miscarriage so not sure where she's got that from. Other than that she seemed very nice and my appointment is next Wednesday when I'll be 9 weeks (hopefully Shock)

TinyPaws · 06/09/2019 15:11

@janey15 You'd think a midwife would know better. I had the same from the GP yesterday when I went to get referred. My miscarriages are all on my medical notes.

Just checking in with the new thread. I'm Tiny, 33, pregnant for the 4th time (previous pregnancies were MMC and chemicals x2). Same sex partner so had IVF with donor sperm. This time I'm on prednisolone and having extra scans and thyroid function monitoring. Had successful scans at 6+2 and 7+1, next scan booked for Monday which will be 8+1 then I'm going to try and wait until 10+1 for the next scan.

Had a really magical moment today - DD felt Baby Brother move! He was kicking away so I asked if she wanted to feel him, she put her hand on my tummy and a little foot (I think) thumped her a few times! Her face was a picture! Not sure she really understands but it feels special as it's the first time the two of them have connected (I know, I know, I'm a soppy mare)

In other news I totally forgot I had a drs app this afternoon to get my MATB form 😳 Have had to reschedule for Thursday but I still have two weeks to get it to work.

Hey guys,
We lost our little one at 11 weeks, a real shock because we had strong positive tests all the way through. I had a brown staining one morning and again the next so I went straight to A&E, they did a pregnancy test, he came out and said ‘we’ll you’re still pregnant’ with a smile. I went up for a scan in the early pregnancy unit and then got the devastating news. I naturally miscarried a week later.

I’m now 4.5 weeks pregnant and just don’t have any symptoms. I’m petrified as I can’t rely on the tests as mine still read pregnant last time!

At what stages did you feel pregnant? My other two children I had 14 years ago and remember feeling unwell, a bit queazy and very tired but I cannot remember at what stage.

Anyone else going through this? Xx

EDD 10-05-20

FirstTimeMama91 · 06/09/2019 17:24

@Jojowash congratulations on your bfp and sorry about your previous loss Thanks

I'm not too far ahead of you - I'm 5+2 today. My symptoms didn't show for a few days but they've picked back up. Feeling queasy, sore boobs and exhausted. Some random cramping every now and then too. My EDD is 06/05

rubyroot · 06/09/2019 18:39

@Jojowash it really is so different for everyone. There's no way of knowing. I'm not really an advocate of tests for reasons you outline. But I know some ladies use the clear blue digitals with weeks indicator ro check if things are progressing. If you're 5 weeks 2, it would show 2/3 weeks and in a few days may change to 3 + weeks. However, I've heard some ladies don't get the 3 plus and it causes them unnecessary anxiety as they then go on to experience healthy pregnancies. You could have a scan around 6 1/2 weeks to see how things are progressing. I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks 1 days

Squiff70 · 06/09/2019 19:10

Hi ladies and welcome to the newcomers! I'm sorry for your previous loss @Jojowash but congratulations on your new pregnancy.

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue that's the cutest thing I've heard in ages! :)

Just following on from a previous post of mine on the previous thread... I was concerned that my obstetric consultant had seen something of concern on my scan earlier this week as he stressed (very firmly) that we need to think about what we would do if one or both babies tested as high risk for Down's, Edwards' or Patau's. I had a lengthy conversation with one of the screening midwives today who confirmed that the consultant did not note anything of concern with the scan.

In other news, my DP has just gone to see family adraod for a week, leaving me on my own, pregnant with twins and a very sick dog to boot.

Roll call (in some sort of other)

adraod? I meant abroad!

Navy123 · 07/09/2019 05:30

@Squiff70 glad that they didn't note any concerns - has that put your mind at rest? Good luck for your week too, that sounds tough! Do you get a week holiday after?!

So fed up with the pregnancy insomnia - anyone else? Been awake for ages and no sign of going back to sleep! Have a toddler who wakes through the night and a raging cold so I could really really do with the sleep too.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 07/09/2019 08:06

I hear you on both the insomnia and child who doesn't sleep @Navy123! I've been up since 4.30 as DD has a cough and has kept me up all night. I have no idea how I'm going to cope with two kids! I am resigned to the fact that I will never sleep again 😣

Great news @Squiff70! So pleased you spoke to someone and have managed to put your mind at rest.

Welcome @Jojowash! Definitely don't rely on tests. With my DD I never got a 3+ on a CB and with my ectopic the lines were dark as you like! Im a scan addict and think that's the only reliable way to tell how things are progressing. Regarding feeling pregnant with me this time sickness hit at exactly 7 weeks, before that it was just random cramps and tiredness, but as above I have a rubbish sleeping DD so I'm always tired!

Thank you for the new thread @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue
I have gotten totally behind with everyone the last few days - apologies hope everyone is doing ok.

Age : 39
MMC - June 18
MC - Aug 18
MC - Oct 18
CP - Mar 19
Diagnosed with APS, plus uNK - treated with pred, heparin, aspirin and cyclogest.

Currently about 11 + 5 and fingers crossed this is our rainbow. Baby was looking a few days ahead at last scan.

Currently nervously awaiting harmony results that I think should arrive early next week.

Don't know due date as head firmly in the sand and not ready to join the role call.

I have been followed up to date by St Mary's RMC who have been amazing but am this week transitioning back to my local hospital. Booking appt Monday, consultant appt Tuesday. Bit nervous about consultant appt as it is the same guy that failed to diagnose my APS but have been through everything with ST Mary's so know what am asking 🤞

@Navy123 oh the insomnia I hear you. Awake most nights between 2-4am not sure it's pregnancy or pred but not fun!

@sadtoday21 have you had your NIPT/NT results? How you doing? X

Navy123 · 07/09/2019 10:04

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue yeah that's about where I'm at too - no sleep for at least a decade. At least if I get some then I'll be grateful!

FirstTimeMama91 · 07/09/2019 10:08

Have work up with a sore throat and runny nose Sad anyone any tips to help??

sadtoday21 · 07/09/2019 10:29

Thanks for asking after me @fnej01! I just got my combined test results this morning in the post!

Here are my numbers (age 31 nearly 32):
Nuchal measurement: 1.5 mm
Downs risk: 1 in 56,165
Edward/Patau risk: 1 in 100,000

What do you ladies think?

@FirstTimeMama91 sorry to hear you are sick, I'm also feeling a bit under the weather! I am just drinking hot water and lime and trying to rest a bit, not much else to be done I'm afraid. I think Vicks is safe in pregnancy, you might try that?

Squiff70 · 07/09/2019 10:33

@Navy123 It temporarily put my mind at rest but now I'm worried about the NT test and 12 week scan on 19th (I'll be 13+4). The midwife said they can do the NT test up until 14+1 but it doesn't stop me worrying. I don't get a holiday when DP gets back, no. I just hope my dog can hold on that long as I really can't face letting him go whilst my DP isn't here.
Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish with a cold and insomnia - that really is rubbish. I hope in a couple of days you're feeling better and can get some more sleep.

FirstTimeMama91 · 07/09/2019 10:49

Thanks @sadtoday21 I'll try that. Hope you feel better soon too x
