Anyone else 39+ weeks? Baby watch thread?

39+1 with DC2 today and getting very restless! Partly because I have no idea what to expect with going into spontaneous labour (I was induced for reduced foetal movement with DC1, and ended up with an EMCS). Anyone fancy joining me in a baby watch thread?

40+2 here! First baby so am constantly on edge not knowing what to expect!

Other than SPD I've had a fairly straightforward pregnancy until last couple of months when I've developed high bp, polyhydramnious and am currently on antibiotics for a tooth/gum infection 🤦🏼‍♀️ they are really making me feel like poop on top of being 9 months pregnant!

Sparkle733 · 23/08/2019 12:17

41+3 here with first baby.
Definitely starting to feel fed up especially with the warm weather.
I have had a straight forward pregnancy so shouldn’t moan.
Not long now though. Smile

greystar30 · 23/08/2019 12:21

I really hope our babies arrive before the heatwave does! I really don't fancy giving birth in 30+ degree heat 😬

MissPollyHadADolly19 · 23/08/2019 17:22

39+2 today with my second.
Alot of on and off pains since yesterday morning but nothing lasting or even remotely promising!!
Why does the week between 39 and 40 weeks feel like the longest time ever?!
Waaahhhhhh!!!

LRBug · 23/08/2019 17:38

@MissPollyHadADolly19 Not as long as the days feel after 40 weeks!!

40+5 here and totally fed up. So many little signs over the past three weeks but none of them have come to anything. I'm refusing induction until 42 weeks (my trust usually induce at 41 weeks) so could have another 9 days left, each of which feels like a life time Sad

So badly want to meet my baby now, and booked in for a home birth so I desperately want to go naturally rather than having to go into hospital!

KHR1 · 23/08/2019 18:59

Hi!
41+1 with my first! Failed sweep on Wednesday as my cervix was 'unfavourable'. Induction booked for Sunday but desperately hoping Baby decides to come of her own accord before then!

MrsD28 · 23/08/2019 20:01

Good to hear that I am not alone! DH keeps asking me if I feel any signs of labour.... but all the early signs that I have read about have been happening for weeks! It is his birthday next week and he has said that all he wants for his birthday is to be on paternity leave so he can avoid having to go to an awful work meeting Grin.

41+1 here and been in early labour since Tuesday at 11.30pm, had two sweeps, lost the mucus plug and contractions constantly but in no particular order or rhythm. I'm coping well with the pain but starting to struggle mentally with the lack of sleep (5 hours ish since Tuesday night, all broken by contractions). Waters still haven't gone despite waddling over 6000 steps today and only 2cm dilated last they checked.

Very much fed up!!! Sad just want to meet this little one....but am very very grateful I decided a tens machine would be worth a go, its been an absolute life saver!

Pregnancy was all straightforward up until a few weeks ago when my platelets started dropping dramatically, which might mean no epidural for me when I do eventually go into labour. Think that's playing on my mind just now also!

MrsD28 · 24/08/2019 15:48

Good luck KT2019! Hoping things have moved today.

How is everyone else today? Still no baby here! I have had a sudden burst of energy though - did a major tidy in the front garden and pressure-washed the front steps (because, of course, the baby will notice if the steps are not entirely clean Hmm). I have read that this could be a sign that labour is on its way...?

KHR1 · 24/08/2019 16:18

@MrsD28 hope you are right about the burst of energy, sounds like you are nesting! :) Spent the whole day so far cleaning before I go in to be induced tomorrow. Was hoping bouncing on a yoga ball and pineapple might help me avoid it but no joy so far!

Waffle12 · 24/08/2019 16:54

Hi ladies. 39+5 here with dc2. Thought I had some signs on wed morning, but nothing happened, and zero signs since.
We were convinced baby would be early too.
Have been bouncing on yoga ball most of the day, but then probably undid any good by just having a 2 hour snooze laying on the bed next to a fan!!

Fingers crossed things get moving for all of us soon. X

FrancesV83 · 24/08/2019 18:17

Hi everyone, I’m 39 weeks today. Definitely getting more pains/cramping now but not regular.
It’s so hot and I have a chest infection so I’d rather he stayed in just a couple of days!
Got a sweep booked in for the 2nd September, let’s hope he makes an appearance before then!
This is my 2nd baby (1st son came at 38+4, induced labour). He’s 9 now so it’s been a while!!
Good luck everyone.

Waffle12 · 25/08/2019 13:01

Any news today anyone?

Had really sharp pains again really low down last night, but been having those for a few weeks-so basically nothing to report here!! Due date tomorrow!Hmm

Toneitdown · 25/08/2019 15:37

I'm 40+5 and I'm so fed up. I've been having contractions on and off for over a week but they always stop in the end. I'm having another sweep tomorrow but not hopeful as so far the previous ones have done nothing except cause pain Sad

greystar30 · 25/08/2019 17:08

40+4 and no signs yet.... I think I'd be ok to wait until after the heatwave now though! Wednesday looks cooler 🤞🏻😆

FrancesV83 · 25/08/2019 19:01

@greystar30 I’m thinking the same as you as it’s far too hot to give birth in this weather! My feet and ankles are so huge, they hurt to walk on.

greystar30 · 25/08/2019 19:45

@FrancesV83 glad I'm not the only one with 'Shrek' feet 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

FrancesV83 · 25/08/2019 20:00

@greystar30 ha shrek feet!! I have some major cankles going on. Grin

Huncamuncaa · 25/08/2019 23:32

38+6 here. Spent this weekend on a maternity ward as I had an infection and they wanted to monitor me. All better now. Left the ward with my bump and little used hospital bag! I was admitted with such bad abdominal pain I was convinced the baby would be arriving but I think i knew deep down it wasnt labour pains. One DC born on due date. So hot and uncomfortable and cannot sleep! I hate this!

Toneitdown · 26/08/2019 08:17

Had my sweep about 7 hours ago and nothing has happened since. Just been booked in for my induction... Really hope it doesn't come to that but at least I know the end is in sight now!

ThePolishWombat · 26/08/2019 08:25

I’m a bit earlier than you guys but mind if I jump on?
I’ll be 37 weeks tomorrow with DC3, but my last 2 babies were born early - one at 38+1, and one at 36+0, so I feel like I’m in that limbo of “when’s it going to be?!”.
Midwife tells me that seeing as though I’ve never made it to a due date before, it’s likely that this baby will make her entrance before that too!

LRBug · 26/08/2019 11:23

41+1 now, and still no signs of baby! I'm having monitoring every other day and am asking for sweeps at each appointment so fingers crossed the cumulative effect of them kicks things off. If not, induction on Sunday at 42 weeks but I've been told as I'm already 2-3cm dilated and cervix is thin (

KHR1 · 26/08/2019 15:52

Got induced at 7am yesterday, waters broke at 6pm and after a very intense labour baby Olivia was born at 5:13 am at 41+4 weeks!

Huncamuncaa · 26/08/2019 16:15

Congratulations! Hope you are recovering well x

Waffle12 · 26/08/2019 17:01

Awww congratulations @KHR1
