Anyone else 39+ weeks? Baby watch thread?

39+1 with DC2 today and getting very restless! Partly because I have no idea what to expect with going into spontaneous labour (I was induced for reduced foetal movement with DC1, and ended up with an EMCS). Anyone fancy joining me in a baby watch thread?

Your pressure washing comment made me laugh! I scrubbed all the plastics around the front door and windows yesterday, because I just know that my baby will be checking!
I’m panicking that i won’t know I’m in labour - when realistically it’s gonna be pretty obvious! 😂

I only commented a couple of days ago - but I had my baby yesterday at 38+6!
I was very VERY impatient, currently over the moon!!

40+1 still waiting! Had a sweep and was already 4cm dilated so just waiting on either my waters breaking or contractions to start - feeling very, very impatient now.
How's everyone else doing?

I know I could still have a good 3 weeks wait so just trying to stay patient for as long as I can!

40+3 here. Went for a sweep yesterday but was refused it as babys head isn't engaged. So frustrated. Have another attempt booked for tomorrow. Lost some of my plug yesterday, but know that really doesnt mean anything.

@greystar30 good luck with it! The pessary seemed fine to me, I know it took a while for some people but I literally just walked and bounced on a birthing ball all day! My waters broke on my fourth lap of the hospital after about 10 hours. Hope all goes well!

I’m 39+4, been feeling twinges for a week but not coming to anything yet. Mainly stressed because my ILs are on standby to come and look after my 2 yo, but they’re a 90 minute drive away, and I’m worried that in trying not to overreact to every twinge I’m going to leave it too late and end up with a toddler in the delivery suite!

elizzza i am 39+1 and been having period like cramps / strong bh on and off for weeks now!

What was your last birth like time wise?

@IVEgottheDECAF waters broke overnight at 41+2, I had contractions on and off but labour never got established so 24 hours later I was induced (pessary) and DS was born 12 hours later. So I definitely know what waters breaking feel like but no idea how quickly a non-induced labour might progress...plus I’ve heard lots of anecdotes about second births being a lot quicker!

Thinking my sweep failed had contractions for nearly 2 hours last night then they fizzled out!
Nothing again today but have my 2nd sweep booked for Sunday.

@Milsplus3 we've gone for a second hand mothercare my3, didn't want anything too pricey as with my 1st I went through so many different prams until I found one I liked!
