@AlphaLemon - thank you, it was lovely to get some reassurance :)

Ginandtonic31 · 18/08/2019 19:40

I was in the last thread but just marking my place here Smile I feel slightly worried as I don't feel sick or anything. Done a 7 mile bike ride today. Etc. I just feel like the next scan will show that it has stopped growing.

Jesskir89 · 18/08/2019 19:54

@ELW85 great scan pic :) I think you're 2 days behind me so are you 9 weeks? Welcome new ladies and @Ginandtonic31 I've not had any sickness for a couple of weeks and not had it much throughout we might be catrying boys! Try not to worry :) how far along are you?

Ginandtonic31 · 18/08/2019 19:57

@Jesskir89 oh that's reassuring. My mum says she didn't with me or my brother but did start being sick at 12 weeks with me. My other half says I should enjoy it as I'm having an easy pregnancy! At the start I struggled but now I just feel like me again! I'm 10+2. So feel like 2 weeks is a long worried wait.

ELW85 · 18/08/2019 20:04

@Jesskir89 - I’m 8+5 so I think my EDD has moved out a bit to 24/03. It’s so exciting and I feel so much better not I’ve seen the scan and them moving about :)

@Ginandtonic31 - honestly, I’ve not been sick yet but have gone from dry heaving to nothing. It fluctuates so much, so try not to worry!

Keyboard91 · 18/08/2019 20:04

I’m going to have a moan. I feel AWFUL. Managed to eat some more tasty food yesterday (not potato!) so got carried away and had a tasty dinner this eve. I’m now stuck in the bathroom hugging a bucket as the sudden introduction of taste has set off both my nausea and my IBS. Literally just want to cry. Why does something as wanted as a baby make us feel this awful 😢

OP posts:
Jesskir89 · 18/08/2019 20:09

@Ginandtonic31 I'm exactly a week behind you and had an internal and an external scam and have another on sat. I've had bleeding etc and previously had a mc at 16 weeks so I'm obsessed atm so completely understand. Can't you book a private scan for your reassurance? @ELW85 I bet, I can't wait for my next one :) @keyboard91 sorry you feel crap :(

Ginandtonic31 · 18/08/2019 20:23

@Jesskir89 I feel like it might be a bit excessive another scan as I had one at 6,7 and 8! I've also had bleeding but not for a couple of weeks now. I think I just need to wait it out for a couple of weeks.

Jesskir89 · 18/08/2019 20:41

@Ginandtonic31 fair enough and if all those 3 scans were ok I'm sure you'll be fine :)

barnyb · 18/08/2019 21:07

@Keyboard91 ahhhhhhh how awful! It's so tough! Literally you can't explain how awful the first 12 weeks are unless you have experienced it yourself! Everyone here knows how you feel! Bloody rotten isn't it! I'm just getting ready for bed and hoping and praying the nausea doesn't kick in like it does EVERY NIGHT! And then I have to go get MORE FOOD and then brush my teeth AGAIN! And then try to sleep all over again!
Kinda sick of it now. pun not intended xxx

Dinosauraddict · 19/08/2019 07:34

Welcome @lucy2274xx and @barnyb yes I was trying to explain how awful I felt to my DH but he just doesn't get it.

oksim · 19/08/2019 07:45

Thanks girls xxx

SLT90 · 19/08/2019 08:14

@Dinosauraddict Same here. I've actually had zero special treatment from DH so far! It's like any time I'm feeling very sick or exhausted he has a reason to be worse off, like a headache or upset stomach or just being very tired too 😡 he's only made dinner once since I started getting sick, and only helped on one other occasion because I was literally too tired to face chopping all the stuff by myself! So annoying. I don't know if he will be more understanding when I look more 'pregnant'. Probably need the sympathy more in this trimester though!!!

Dinosauraddict · 19/08/2019 08:17

Gosh @SLT90 that makes my DH look like a saint. He's been amazing these last 2 months, cooking me dinner most nights, doing more of the dog responsibilities and trying to take the weight off me, but I think he feels like I'm not 'pulling my weight'. I am genuinely trying to do everything I can manage, when I can manage it, but the housework has definitely slipped. I just don't have the energy... ConfusedBlush

AlphaLemon · 19/08/2019 09:20

@Dinosauraddict try not to be too hard on yourself with the house, as soon as you feel better it will all pick up Smile
My DH is being quite good... keeps encouraging me to nap because he knows I want to but feel too guilty haha

blondie87 · 19/08/2019 09:41

Sorry some of you are suffering. The nauseous is horrendous and if you’re not actually sick it’s hard to explain how yuck it is. I’m 11+5 and the sick feeling has started to dissipate but now I’ve got such bad fatigue by the afternoon!
I’m sure I’m feeling the baby occasionally but surely it’s too early so maybe I’m imagining it. I think I felt movement at about 16 weeks last time.

Ginandtonic31 · 19/08/2019 09:46

So after moaning last night I had no symptoms I was sick. The thing is I can't work out if it's a bug/food poisoning or sickness. I had a banging headache and bad tummy so went to bed and then was sick. All night I've felt sick with a headache and dodgy tummy. Is that normal for morning sickness? The headache and dodgy tummy are what makes me feel worried.

Ninjamomma · 19/08/2019 13:31

I hear you on the housework front. I managed to clean the bathroom yesterday and that was about it. Energy and motivation levels are extremely low and everything feels much better when you're lying down. I have my Dating scan on Friday so I'm excited about that and all being well we have a family party on Saturday so will tell everyone then - I think everyone is speculating anyway as I am starting to show for sure

SLT90 · 19/08/2019 13:52

@Dinosauraddict aww he has been good to you - make the most of it! I think if I was actually vomiting then DH would be more understanding but it's hard to explain just how tired I can get, or how I bad I feel. I also think I'm quite good at just getting on with things so need to get better at demanding the help rather than masking. Definitely can see why women are given the job of being pregnant hahaha he would be the biggest nightmare if it was him 😂😂😂

Jesskir89 · 19/08/2019 16:34

@SLT90 I hear you! I told my dh he sounds the least supportive out of them all on this thread he literally does nothing but creates more mess for me. It's partly my fault for always doing EVERYTHING cooking cleaning washing pots washing clothes walking the dog etc I do it all and I'm dreading getting bigger and when the babies born how much I will struggle :(

satsumasaturday · 19/08/2019 17:11

This thread moves so fast, sorry I have trouble keeping up!

@Yvonne1988 YES my skin is horrendously oily and I'm getting little spots coming and going constantly! No amount of face washing seems to keep it under control. My hair also is a bit oilier but I wash it every morning usually anyway so that isn't so noticeable

@AlphaLemon thanks for the tip, I will be ordering right away!

@Ginandtonic31 I feel the same re not feeling sick (although just read you were sick this morning - are you feeling better). I felt a bit sick week 7/8/9 but not hugely, then once I hit week ten I've felt normal again so I'm starting to get anxious for my 12 week scan next week. My mum said she got sickness from about 12 weeks though so maybe I have it to come

@Jesskir89 my dh is also not exactly me helpful. I think I have the same problem as you though - he will do whatever but has zero initiative to do it unless told. So if left to him we wouldn't do washing until we had zero clean clothes, wouldn't start cooking dinner until 9pm every night, and we'd never have any food in the cupboard! But part of me thinks its my fault for just doing stuff. That said, on the evenings I have felt queasy he has mustered up some food once he's realized I have no intention of doing it! But then I can tolerate other things (like the kitchen being dirty) more than him, so he does that and if you asked him he'd probably be quite happy to list off the stuff I never do (wash the car, fill up the car, take out the rubbish, clean the windows?!). Go on strike for a bit and see what happens 😊

Yvonne1988 · 19/08/2019 17:27

Had a busy day today. Busy in work had a bake sale to prepare for tomorrow. Then stuff to do at home while I still had energy... Slept loads all weekend so I'm not too exhausted. Was feeling sick this morning but having a weird not feeling pregnant day. I'm still not allowing myself to get too attached or excited til I get my scan, strange day.

Ginandtonic31 · 19/08/2019 18:01

@satsumasaturday sounds like we are similar. By week 10 felt completely normal and my mum said the same - week 12 she started throwing up. I was sick last night but think it was unrelated and may have been dehydrated from a 7 mile bike ride in the sun.

SLT90 · 19/08/2019 18:09

@Jesskir89 @satsumasaturday glad to see DH isn't the only one! He does have lots of really lovely characteristics I promise 😂 but yes, sympathy is not one of them. Today he has a headache. I always try to be super sympathetic to him if he is unwell but he doesn't seem to know to return the favour! To be fair to him, if I directly ask him to do stuff round the house he will do it without complaint. But the norm in our house is that I come in from work and do all the chores and dinner and he defaults to the sofa unless we have a pre-arranged deal that he is making dinner. (When DH makes dinner he picks the most expensive and time consuming meals that use every pot/utensil in the kitchen!)
I am well prepared for being responsible for a human 😂😂😂
