@stormtrooperjulian @TrashKitten10 @PippaPug @purplefig @MrsEG - thanks ladies, this thread is fantastic and I’m definitely starting to feel better ❤️

Delilah7 · 20/09/2019 17:31

How are all you ladies?! Missing being able to report my journey in pregnancy 😂

LokiCat · 20/09/2019 17:50

Hi all! Happy Friday 😊 I'm 9 weeks today, can't believe it! Nausea has come back quite strong today, which I am sort of pleased about as I was worrying (even though it feels horrible 😂).

@cupcakesandglitter oh sorry to hear you're not feeling any better. It's good that they've signed you off work, so you have a chance to rest up and hopefully be back to feeling 100% soon! Awww it must have been so lovely seeing the scan, especially with an active baby. I can't wait to see the same on Sunday.

@MrsEG what a great bargain!! Nice one!
You look absolutely gorgeous, the bump really suits you. I know it's easier said than done, but please don't let anyone make you feel bad about yourself. Some people are so insensitive. Your body is doing such an amazing thing and you look wonderful! I hope you have a lovely evening.

@BostonFern I hope all went okay at your lung scan today. Cats really do find the worst times to create a mess don't they? Came downstairs this morning about to rush off to work and saw that our cat had thrown up and left us a nice mouse present next to it 🤦🏻‍♀️ luckily DH had just got home and was able to clean it up. Hope you managed to get the snot off!

@Lemonysherbet so pleased to see you here again lovely. Keeping everything crossed for you 💕

@ELW85 glad you're feeling better now ❤️ It's so difficult not to focus on the numbers but the fact that they have said low risk is great!

@stormtrooperjulian ahh happy maternity leave! Sounds like you had a great morning :)

@Delilah7 hope you and Ethan are doing well Smile

We may go see Hustlers tonight at the cinema, depends how lazy DH is feeling in the next hour 😂 I think I'm looking forward to the nachos more than the actual film! Im obsessed with them!!

Hope you all have a great evening ahead Grin

Lemonysherbet · 20/09/2019 18:25

@BostonFern cat snot got me crying with laughter over here 😂 getting funny looks on the train

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 18:41

Thanks so much ladies - you’ve all made me feel a lot better! And DH went out and bought me some donut bites from Greggs too :)

@purplefig I live in Birkenstock’s! They are the comfiest things in the whole world. I even have a winter pair with faux fur on the inside 🙈 DH hates them, but he accepted they came with my hand in marriage.

@TrashKitten10 Absolutley love the walking incubator comment, laughed out loud!!

@MrsH497 Congrats on your milestone!!

@ELW85 Glad you are feeling better :)

@Delilah7 How are you lovely, have you been feeling better? How is Ethan doing?

@LokiCat It’s weird how you can almost enjoy the nausea at times isn’t it?! A little reminder the hormones are going mad! Enjoy the film, I’m off to see it shortly too! JLO had twins - I wonder if this means I’ll look just like her post-partum?!

BostonFern · 20/09/2019 18:58

@cupcakesandglitter @MrsEG @stormtrooperjulian @LokiCat Thank you.
Had my scan, no blood clots in my lungs and no reoccurrence of the collapsed lung I had at the start of the year, both of which are a huge relief. Thanks again to everyone who's been sending well wishes, it's been so helpful being able to come on here and talk about how I'm feeling and my worries.

@ELW85 those are really good numbers in my opinion, I know it's easier said that done, but try not to get anxious about them x

@stormtrooperjulian happy maternity leave! Here's to some time to relax before little one arrives!

@purplefig I feel your cat sick pain, I find they always manage to do it somewhere you aren't likely to look when walking.....meaning you step in it 🤢

@MrsEG I think your bump is beautiful! Ignore the rude people 😘

@Delilah7 so good to hear from you. How are you lovely?

@LokiCat no success on the cat snot front....think I'm going to have to ask for a new note! 😂

@Lemonysherbet 😂 I've got to laugh about it too or else I'd cry with these hormones!

Delilah7 · 20/09/2019 20:22

@LokiCat nine weeks how exciting 😍 you'll be 19 before you know it! 😂 xx

@MrsEG bump looks lovely mrs! I'm getting there. Ethan's more smiley and cooing now but still has trouble passing bottom wind! He's 13 weeks tomorrow. See my baby spam! How you finding things?? Xx

@BostonFern what did I miss are you ok?!? See no clots in lungs comment and panicked!! I'm not doing too bad. Ethan's growing sooooo fast and he's so cuddly now he's chubbier. He's 11lb 11oz now xxx

PippaPug · 20/09/2019 20:59

@Delilah7 - Ethan looks a little poppet!

Is anyone still quite tired in the second trimester? I did a long stint at work working 15 hour days for 9 days and then did a few extra days but shorter, and when I do a long stint like that working away I tend to have a week off but I’m absolutely shattered, I woke up at 730, fell asleep at 9 on the sofa, fell asleep at 2ish and then again at 5?! I’m worse then when I was in my first trimester!

MrsR16 · 21/09/2019 06:32

@MrsEG OMG you look so good!! How rude of people to comment... 🤬 frustrates me! Yes for DH going out to buy you donut bites 😊

@MrsH497 I'm so pleased everything seems to be going ok for you!

@Delilah7 it's absolutely wonderful to hear from you! I hope you're doing ok? Ethan is absolutely gorgeous! And you're looking really well too.

@LokiCat 9 weeks already?!? Crazy where that time's gone!

@BostonFern I'm glad your scan went well and they couldn't see anything untoward 😊

@stormtrooperjulian enjoy your maternity leave, sweetie! You so deserve it 😊

@PippaPug I've been fairly tired throughout the whole pregnancy! I was probably near 20 weeks before I started feeling that energy that everyone keeps talking about. It's slowly waining again now I'm 27 and a half weeks haha!! Your body's doing a lot more than mine though, so I'm not surprised you're still exhausted! Sleep when you need to sleep, lovely!

So I have been awake since half 5... DH is going to London today and he's just left. Wife duties carried out - coffee made! 😂 now back to bed...

MrsEG · 21/09/2019 06:42

@BostonFern So so pleased to hear the scan showed no clots! Great news.

@Delilah7 OMG would you look at him! He is so adorable! He’s looking so much bigger now too! I am doing fine thanks lovely - found out we are having twin boys!

@PippaPug I’m always tired in the evenings, bed time has to be around 9 for me or I’m useless the next day! Saying that I think I’d be beyond knackered after nine 15 hour days!!

@MrsR16 I know, it really annoyed me yesterday. I saw my friends then at the cinema though and they were very complementary about my bump ha. I felt much better then!! You’re such a good wife getting up to make him coffee; DH always starts work at 7 on a Saturday but I just lie in bed scrolling my phone as he sorts himself out 🙈

Went to see Hustlers last night, really enjoyed it!! Bear in mind after watching JLO work that stripper pole in a string bikini you’ll question every bag of Haribo you’ve ever eaten - she looks phenomenal! I can not believe that woman is 50 and has had twins!!
Happy Saturday everyone

MrsEG · 21/09/2019 07:20

Oh also I bought our changing backpack this morning! TAMBA advised the biggest one you can get haha when you have two and found a fab one initially via marketplace but looked online and it was on sale brand new :) It was from a website called Eloise and Lolo if anyone fancies a look at some sale bags! I signed up to the mailing list too and got another 15% off :)

MrsR16 · 21/09/2019 08:18

@MrsEG friends are always the best! 😊 I'm going to regret being up so early later, I'm sure! But it's worth it to make him happy when he's done so much for me recently, bless him. Although the conversation at 10 past 4 this morning about "what's the time, Hun?" I really could have done without 😂😂

MrsEG · 21/09/2019 08:31

@MrsR16 DH does that; he sets like 5 alarms at all random times to ‘help him wake up’ and will then ask me what time it is - check your own bloody phone and turn the alarms off while you’re at it haha!

BostonFern · 21/09/2019 08:38

@Delilah7 Ethan is so adoreable! 😍 I'm ok thanks, I've been unwell the last week or so, with what I think has been some kind of nasty virus I'm struggling to shift but I was really, really short of breath on Wednesday and had shoulder pain so ended up at the hospital as they were worried about the possibility of a pulmonary embolism. Thankfully it's not, so I think I just need to continue with resting lots.

@PippaPug I found I wanted to nap more in the second trimester but the tiredness wasn't as all consuming as the first trimester, my 'energy burst' was probably best between weeks 22 and 26.

Thanks @MrsR16 , good idea to go back to bed too!

@MrsEG Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the cinema too.

I've had one of the 'birth bag' company bags delivered, it came last night. Very pleased with it, and I feel happier knowing I have the basics if we end up having to go into hospital before I can sort anything else out. I'll get a few photos later so anyone who's interested can see what they're like.

thumper59 · 21/09/2019 08:56

Good morning ladies! Hope your well. A bit tmi from me this morning but last week and this week I've been having a feeling of dampness in my knickers... nothing drastic but enough to warrant panty liners! Is this common? As always google brings me a right mixed bag of results.

@Delilah7 he is absolutely gorgeous!!

@MrsEG she is amazing isn't she!! That first dance she did in that little diamontie piece... I swear I couldn't take my eyes off her!! 😂 that's some body she has!! Argh I hate OHs and alarms!! Mine sets loads.... then doesn't wake up for them 🤬 he's a monster

MrsEG · 21/09/2019 09:29

@BostonFern You rest up and shift the rest of that virus! I really am so pleased it wasn’t anything more serious. Perfect excuse for you now for a relaxed weekend on the sofa :)

@thumper59 Oh my god, I just couldn’t stop looking at her she is phenomenal! I have done pole before too and it is SO hard you have to be so strong to be any good at it - I was just in awe completely! Yep DH is exactly the same - sets loads of alarms and then just snoozes them all; it’s usually a solid 30 mins after the first one goes off before he finally climbs out of bed!

Fivebyfive2 · 21/09/2019 09:31

@thumper59, I'm 24 weeks and have had quite a bit of The Damp the last week or so! Must be one of those weird and wonderful side effects 😂

@Bostonfern, definitely let us know what the birth bag is like, sounds like a good idea so you'll have everything ready packed! Keep resting and hope you feel better soon xxx

@MrsEG, you look amazing!! Glad you enjoyed the film, but don't ever regret the sweets, it's all part of the cinema experience 😀

@Delilah7, aaaahhh look at those pictures 😀❤️ Sounds like Ethan is doing really well and you're fantastic xxx

So we're just about to prep the curry for tonight and then we might test a few baby bits we've had off various people to make sure they work/are ok and I also want to build the bedside crib to check it fits... If not my friend said she'd have it back. Hopefully it will be OK.

Happy Saturday ladies 😀

thumper59 · 21/09/2019 09:33

@Fivebyfive2 fabulous isn't it- I'm feeling so glamorous right now 😂😂 6 more weeks to go... if he doesn't keep us waiting 🙄

PippaPug · 21/09/2019 09:58

@MrsR16 - oh wow, ok! Maybe it’s ok if I’m so tired then?! I have no energy still...hoping it comes back soon! How are you?

@MrsEG - I was shattered I must admit, plus walking over 40,000 steps each day! Have you got much planned this weekend?

@BostonFern - it’s good to know that it’s normal to not have energy after 12 weeks! Everything I keep reading is saying I should be on the best form now and I don’t feel like I am! How are you feeling? Rest lots and lots this weekend!

@thumper59 - that’s flying round, not long now! Do you have everything ready now?

Another question for you all....I seem to have stretching pains as such but it’s bad enough to take my breath away at points, if I sneeze, or if I bend down, or stretch to reach something it hurts and I kept getting woken up with it taking my breath away as well - normal? Or shall I call the EPU? I don’t want to make a fuss if it’s normal

thumper59 · 21/09/2019 10:13

@PippaPug yep we've got everything and more 😊 just waiting on his downstairs Moses basket as the one i wanted wasn't in stock but it's due in this weekend. 😊

It does sound like stretching pains but if you have any concerns ring, they will put your mind at ease xx

MrsEG · 21/09/2019 10:15

@Fivebyfive2 Thanks lovely! Sounds like a great day. Enjoy the curry too! I made a fab one this week with Gousto so I’m pinching the recipe now to make more!

@PippaPug we’re going nursery shopping this weekend! What about you? Don’t worry about the pains - look up round ligament pain. You get it a lot more with twins too as the uterus is expanding at twice the speed. Sometimes when I sneeze it makes my eyes water!! I’ve been assured by midwives it’s fine but if it gets really painful so call about it just to be safe. But I get the exact same!

ELW85 · 21/09/2019 11:17

Morning all!

I’ve slept on it and I’m going to go for the NIPT. I know I’m probably throwing £400 away but I would rather have it done than not.
DH thinks I’m mad, but is being reluctantly supportive.
I’d read loads about it and even in Expecting Better she kind of advises to have it, so I think I’ll feel better once we get results based on the baby.

@Delilah7 - Ethan is gorgeous, congratulations!
@LokiCat - yay for nausea!! It’s so funny how much better you feel for having it 😂
@MrsEG - I’m pleased you’re feeling better! You really do look fantastic!

PippaPug · 21/09/2019 13:08

@thumper59 - that sounds lovely! What a lucky baby to have lots of sleeping places! (And I’m sure he will just sleep in your arms at first!)

@MrsEG - what do you want to get? Furniture? Hopefully you get some good bargains!

I have just won a twin carrier on eBay, only used 3 times so brand new with the bibs too from pet/smoke free home, it was up for bidding starting £80 but I emailed and asked if I could have it for £60 and the seller said yes, I’m chuffed! They are around £140 brand new plus import taxes.

After 12 hours of strong pains around one side I rung the EPU up, they called back 45 mins later saying that the consultant would like to see us, we are in the waiting room and I’m feeling rather nervous....no idea how long we will have to wait, apparently all their scan appointments have gone but we are the only ones here currently

Delilah7 · 21/09/2019 13:42

@PippaPug thank you!! Xx

@MrsR16 aww thank you! Im feeling much better about motherhood now. It does defo get easier! How are you?! Not ages left for you really!!! Xxx

@MrsEG super duper exciting!!! Ever need any clothes I have lots to give away haha!! Xxx

@BostonFern oh my gosh you take it easy lady!! Xxx

@thumper59 thank you! I had lots of dampness in my pregnancy so I'd say normal. Constantly felt like I'd pissed myself 😂 xx

@Fivebyfive2 aww thanks hun. When you start putting things together it really gets even more real haha xx

@ELW85 thank you!! Xxx

Mr happy whilst me and daddy were eating after our shopping trip. So cute.

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 6!
MrsEG · 21/09/2019 13:55

@ELW85 It is totally up to you! Do you mind me asking what you hope to get from the NIPT; is it to see if you get a different result, or for additional reassurance on the result? Sorry, I just don’t know a huge amount about it other than that it tends to be very accurate!

@PippaPug Furniture! Want to see what we could get for the nursery as we need two cots (I know they can share initially but I can’t be bothered having to get another one and faff with building it when they are both babies!) and I want to look at a non-nursery wardrobe as I want a big one to fit double the stuff!
Ahh did you get a Weego?? I kept getting outbid on eBay but got one on Marketplace yesterday!
Hope all goes well with the consultant and scan today x

@Delilah7 He is so cute, such a smiley little boy!! Glad you are feeling better in yourself too, fab to hear :)
