@BostonFern - thank you, it feels really insignificant compared to what you’ve been through!
I’m pleased they took good care of you and you’re resting.

MrsR16 · 19/09/2019 14:00

@PippaPug thanks for your recommendations - I'll certainly have a look! Trip to Cambridge on the cards fo Bravissimo I think 😊

@purplefig I keep looking for nearly new sales around my way and there's one on Sunday so if we can make it we will! I'm all for a good bargain! That's an awesome list! I'm stealing that, if that's ok?

@BostonFern I think you're absolutely right to try and take the stress out of things! You make sure you try and relax as much as possible - you and baby are the most important people ever at the moment. 😊

@BabySquid yay for scan day!!! I'm excited for you!

@ELW85 that's never fun... pregnant and a cold/headache!

@thumper59 I've still got the entire nursery to decorate once we've had a plasterer come in... so expensive!

purplefig · 19/09/2019 14:03

@ELW85 I'm sorry you're feeling wiped out again. If it's possible, just rest as much as you can and don't feel bad about it. Your body is doing so freaking much right now! I slept so much in the first tri - bed early, up later, more naps. Saying that, I still can't stay up much past 9pm now 🤣
Agree: The Capture is just excellent and Tuesdays have a whole new appeal!

@BostonFern good for you, continue to take it as easy as you can. So pleased you were able to use the BRAIN stuff from TPBC to help you feel more in control. Was the breathing helpful too? Oh gawwwd I get you on the Mum guilt thing. And thanks for the bottle rec- I'll look into it as sounds like you're getting plenty of use out of yours already 😊

@stormtrooperjulian that's my dream scenario too, but like you say, trying not to feel too attached as I know it doesn't always work out. I'm so excited for you, proper countdown now. Revel in this being the last day of work!! Great shout about eye mask and ear plugs in case you have to stay over, I'll add them to mine for sure.

@BabySquid glad it's useful! OMG scan day!! Squeeeee!!! So excited for you. Let us know how you get on.

@PippaPug oh yeah, a bikini top would be very strange without the context of a water birth 🤣. Good shout on the nail clippers - I did see them and wasn't going to bother as assumed we'd do them at home, but you never know how long you'll be in.

Question: I've got a wedding in a few weeks. We're driving about 7 hrs to get there, then staying with friends who live a 30 min car ride away from the venue. We'll probably need to be there from about 12pm, and I imagine it would finish around midnight. Any suggestions for staying awake, sociable and full of beans for that length of time? There's no sloping off for a nap in the lull, as it's a stand-alone venue not a hotel. Excited but also slightly worried I'm going to be dead on my feet by 9pm 🤣

purplefig · 19/09/2019 14:05

@MrsR16 cross post! Of course you can steal the list - it's a compilation of all the lists I have stolen from various corners of the internet! I'd so recommend going to your local nearly new if you can, DH and I were so chuffed with the quality of bits we picked up and all so reasonably priced.

MrsEG · 19/09/2019 14:08

I can’t keep up with the posts at the moment!!! I’ll mark my place back in here and try and keep on top of all the replies better!

@stormtrooperjulian Fabulous bump! They say you miss it when it’s gone, you know!

@purplefig I love the list; I also have snack specifics on mine (jelly babies, and lots of them!)

@BostonFern Sorry to hear you’ve had such a scare - I really hope all is okay.

Re: Bake Off I was seriously shocked at who went too! Wasn’t expecting it at all, I don’t think he was either!! But to be honest a few had a bad week - I have a hunch it’ll be a double eviction next week!

Hope everyone is doing well and I haven’t missed too many updates! Had preggo yoga last night and it was fab as ever. She gave me lots of positions and moves to try and shift these transverse babies around a bit! I always sleep like a baby afterwards too!!

DH has also been organising the spare room, tearing down old furniture and emptying it out so we can paint it this weekend. Found a fab upcycling warehouse nearby so going along this weekend to see if we can find some furniture for the babas!!

MrsEG · 19/09/2019 14:11

@purplefig Just saw your post re: the wedding! Could you sleep during the drive? Pillows in the back etc. My sister was 7 months at my wedding and only made it to 10:30; maybe just prep DH you might wanna leave early? Saying that though it was because she had a broken rib at the time! If you can get a good sleep on the way maybe just have some snacks in your bag and power on through!

thumper59 · 19/09/2019 15:40

@purplefig I think you'll be fine! Just keep hydrated and have a seat when you need too 😊. One of my best friends gets married next weekend and that's my plan! Also need to make sure the dress I got still fits...

PippaPug · 19/09/2019 16:51

@MrsH497 - that sounds perfect, will look at those!

@BostonFern How are you doing today? It’s good they are looking after you, they know what they are doing so your not wasting anyone’s time!
And yes I feel like I need so much more water then normal and then needing the toilet 5 times during the night 🙄

@BabySquid - they don’t offer out vitamins here it seems! But @mrsH497 suggested gummy tablets so will try them! How was the scan?

@ELW85 - oh no, sorry to hear your not feeling 100% hopefully a early night will help!

@thumper59 - Thanks for the top RE liquid pregnacare, I may try the gummy ones first, especially as you said the liquid one doesn’t taste nice!

@stormtrooperjulian

That’s a great add, thank you! I have started a list now and feeling a bit more prepared with knowing what I will need!

@MrsR16 - I love Bravissimo, if you go at the weekend, I would suggest booking however as you may wait a while if you don’t ☺️

@purplefig - haha yes it is! I really hope you get the water birth you want Smile yes I have had a few bosses who needed nail clippers quite early on and they were quite surprised!

I think I can feel movement from the babies.....I don’t feel sick but my stomach feels odd, kind of like bubbles are inside of me, but coming from one side more then the other, and my stomach is feeling tighter (the Side where I have always thought a baby was by about 8 weeks, and when I had the scans one of them was there) so I’m not sure if its movement or not!

purplefig · 19/09/2019 17:00

@MrsEG Oh yes, I actually changed my sweet preferences to 'sweets' to look less like a maniac on here, but suffice to say I shall be stocking up big time on Percy Pigg Phizzy Tails like a woman possessed ahead of the big day. Glad pregnancy yoga is treating you well - I'm hoping to start my next block up tomorrow. Speaking of shifting babies, have you seen this website? spinningbabies.com/ - they've got a section on twins (spinningbabies.com/learn-more/baby-positions/twins/) and transverse babies (spinningbabies.com/learn-more/baby-positions/other-fetal-positions/sidewaystransverse/)

@PippaPug oooo movement is exciting!!! Grin

@MrsEG @thumper59 thanks for all your advice both. We're driving up the day before, so I'll have a big sleep the night before. I know I sound dramatic, but I'm not the most people-y of people at the best of times and the thought of 12 hours of constant socialising is...tiring to think about. Maybe I'll crack out the coffee when everyone else cracks out the champagne Grin

Right - I've finished work for the day so I'm off to do a spot of cleaning before I take the pup down to the beach and make the most of this glorious weather. Have a fab evening everyone! x

BabySquid · 19/09/2019 17:11

@PippaPug not been yet it's at 6:15 so I've had time to come home from work, wee and then refuel while DH drives us! I'll post when I return and you can guess if you like. We're not finding out though. 💖💙

MrsEG · 19/09/2019 17:48

@thumper59 Ha that’s the issue with getting towards the finish line, even maternity wear can be tight!! I’m sure the dress will fit fine :) I did have to have a ‘back up’ bridesmaid dress for my pregnant sister though! It was getting iffy ha!

@PippaPug Ooh how exciting! Mine still feels like tickles/an itch from the inside, it’s so light. I can’t wait for it to feel a bit stronger!

@purplefig Oh thanks so much for those links that’s amazing. Like if they wanna lie like they're in bunk beds then so be it but I’d love to try and shift them before they get bigger and start digging in to my pelvis!! Enjoy your next block of yoga! I LOVE the Percy fizzy tails they got me through my metal-mouth first tri!!

@BabySquid Good luck at the scan lovely!

LokiCat · 19/09/2019 18:23

@Fivebyfive2 aww how sweet of your mum! My PIL did the same recently with our garden! I was so surprised. Parents are amazing.
Ah love a good curry! DH just surprised me and made some for dinner as I said I was craving it yesterday! 🥰
We're having dinner with my family Saturday night and then early scan on Sunday hopefully 😊

@BostonFern oh I'm so sorry that happened last night, but I'm glad everyone involved was on top of it all. I hope you're feeling better today.

@purplefig what a great list! Thanks for sharing - have saved it on my notes app Grin

@BabySquid just read your message at 1815! I hope your scan is going well!!

@ELW85 it really was! So many theories floating around in my head now! Haha
Oh no I hope you're not coming down with another cold.

@thumper59 ooh I really want to see Hustlers, it looks great! I can't believe JLo is 50. I was watching her BTS video of her learning to pole dance and was amazed! She is gorgeous!

@PippaPug ahh how exciting that you might be feeling so movement. It must feel so amazing!

Hope you all have a lovely evening. I'm about to pass out on the sofa after finishing dinner.

thumper59 · 19/09/2019 18:29

@MrsEG they get strong so quick! I can't even remember the turning point of mine but it came from nowhere, now he's constantly sticking elbows and feet out 😂. It does! Luckily I have back up dresses but I'm hoping my first choice fits. I've tried to stay as 'me' As possible this whole pregnancy. But I'm getting to where I'd like to just stay in my pjs 24/7 now 😂

@LokiCat it's amazing! I loved it. Yeah she is incredible, her body is just out of this world too! Defo inspired me to get on with loosing this extra weight once little man is here! She so sexy and fierce! That's what I want to be but what I actually am is a potato laid on the sofa stuffing my face 😂😂

BabySquid · 19/09/2019 19:23

Well it's definitely an awkward little bugger haha laid on its face for like half an hour, had to go for a 'vigorous walk!' To make it move! I'll post a pic once home just at the chippy!!

BabySquid · 19/09/2019 20:13

Here we go then guys, little one at 19+3... look at the little foot!!!! (Even though it looks HUGE there!)

ELW85 · 19/09/2019 20:22

@BabySquid - yay, so pleased it went well and jealous of your chippy tea!

@purplefig - that sounds like quite the wedding road trip to be fair. I’d definitely nap on the way there and just take breaks from everything when you need to. Everyone will understand. I hope you’ve enjoyed your walk with the pup!

@LokiCat - thank you 😊 I’m also in a post dinner food-coma. My theory is maybe out of the window now, not sure...?

@MrsEG - I don’t think that Paul leaving GBBO was right. It should have been one of the other two whose names I totally can’t remember 😂

I hope everyone is having a lovely evening! Can’t wait for the weekend and not long to go. We’re finishing the garden and hopefully clearing the spare room/under the stairs. Not glamorous but it’s great for time together which is rare, sadly.

MrsEG · 19/09/2019 20:47

@thumper59 I so can’t wait to feel them both wriggling about!! Yeah I know what you mean, a few people have tried to pawn really ‘mumsie’ maternity outfits on me but I wanna still feel like me! Thank heavens for new look and boohoo!

@BabySquid Ahh what lovely pics! I don’t understand the nub theory and thought I understood the skull theory until literally today and my friends 20 week scan (I was completely wrong) so I won’t even try to guess haha! Glad it all went well - jealous of those chips!

@ELW85 I thought Priya should have gone, she was fairly hopeless - Michael too! I’m sure Phil went just because he isn’t ‘good tv’ (read: a bit old). I love a good weekend of organising! I have absolutely no plans on Saturday so have gulp offered to babysit my niece alone for a bit! Feel like I should get in a bit of practice!! She’s fairly obsessed with her fake kitchen at the moment (she loves to serve me plastic donuts fresh out of the ‘oven’) so hoping that will distract her long enough ha!

I am knee deep in Unbelievable on Netflix - when you’re all done with The Capture you have to watch it!

Fivebyfive2 · 19/09/2019 21:07

@Bostonfern, how are you feeling? Hope you are being looked after and are able to take it easy xxx

@purplefig, car naps are the answer I'd say! And snacks 😀 I'm sure you'll have a great time, maybe sneak out a bit early if needed, I'm sure people will understand! Xx

@BabySquid, what amazing pictures 😀 No idea what you're having, but so glad all went OK xxx

I'm soooo tired! Work is ridiculous, not actually busy but so much Drama!! We're all waiting for our reviews, people are getting antsy about it I think because we've usually had them by now. Also, a lady thinks she's been done the dirty on and is planning to do a dyi detective job to find out... Very intense! Roll on weekend!! Xx

OP posts:
LokiCat · 19/09/2019 22:26

@BabySquid ahh lovely photos! So pleased all went well 😊 love the foot shot!

@ELW85 i think we're going to be getting our hands on the garden on Saturday as well. It's the first weekend DH has had off in ages so it'll be great for some together as well :) I hope you both enjoy!

@MrsEG I just finished Unbelievable (ended up binge watching the last two nights). I'm so sad that there's no more episodes. They did it brilliantly.

@Fivebyfive2 oh no, sorry to hear work is so crazy. I hope you all get your reviews back soon and things get better soon!

Have a good night all. So happy it's Friday tomorrow!!

cupcakesandglitter · 19/09/2019 22:55

Hi ladies ❤️ sorry I disappeared again - not feeling any better and have been signed off for another month 😩 hoping I recover quickly and get back to work sooner, I'm stuck in a cycle of just staying in bed and napping because I can't handle being outside for very long at all without throwing up 🤮 I had my private scan today with both MILs and it turns out I'm ahead at 12w today! So relieved! Baby is a little character and loves to do weird and wonderful tricks with his legs 😂 starting to feel real for me now!!

Ahhh @BabySquid gorgeous photos!! That cute little foot 🥺🥰 x

@stormtrooperjulian eeeeeek so close!!! That bump too 🥰 xx

I'm so jealous I can't join in on the TV chat, it gives me migraines 😭

How are we all getting on? Sorry if I've missed any news, I'm rubbish!!! Xx

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 07:18

@Fivebyfive2 Ooh love a bit of work drama (when it doesn’t involve you of course!!) hope her DIY detective work goes well ha!

@LokiCat I’ve got two episodes left, so will nail them tomorrow. It’s gripping!

@cupcakesandglitter Sorry to hear you are so poorly, but I’m glad they’re signing you off - you clearly need it so rest and look after yourself! How lovely that baby was so active during your scan!

Feeling pretty smug this morning, I’ve been bidding on a specific twin carrier on eBay for days and just keep getting out bid, there’s only a handful on there too. Managed to find one on FB marketplace - not local, but the seller has agreed to post it to me 👍🏼 At an absolute fraction of the price; and in amazing condition with original box etc!!

Hope everyone has a fab Friday, I’m off to see Hustlers tonight which I wasn’t too fussed about but I believe it’s incredible!

BostonFern · 20/09/2019 07:53

Thanks @MrsR16 @purplefig @MrsEG @PippaPug @LokiCat @Fivebyfive2
Feeling a bit better when I'm resting, still get very out of breath just walking 10ft or so, which is frustrating. Just waiting to be called in for the lung scan this morning and then I guess we will know more.

@purplefig not much chance to use the breathing techniques at the hospital as I couldn't breathe in/out for that long, but I tried using positive affirmations to keep me calm and that helped.

@PippaPug That does sound like you're feeling movement-how exciting!

@BabySquid Those are lovely scan photos! Bet it was fabulous to see them again and how much they've grown!

@ELW85 that sounds like a productive weekend you've got planned, I find they're always satisfying!

@Fivebyfive2 wow, work does sound very intense!

@cupcakesandglitter Sorry to hear you're still unwell. It sounds like you had a lovely scan though. Hopefully as you move into the second trimester you'll find you start to feel more yourself. Sending gentle get well hugs your way in the mean time.

@MrsEG That sounds like a great deal-you've got to love a good bargain!

Jessikka · 20/09/2019 08:03

@cupcakesandglitter I am suffering quite badly with nausea too. My mum bought me Sea Bands and theyve changed my life! I can now walk around a shop and play with the dog again! They are like sweat bands with a small round circle sewn in to push your pressure point.
Might be worth a try? I found walking and motion to be a big trigger for my sickness so these bands helped wonders! Might be worth a try? Though they may not work for everyone! :)

Lemonysherbet · 20/09/2019 08:32

Hey all,

A month later and im surprised I'm back again! Got a faint line yesterday at 4 weeks and a day after losing at 5.5 weeks last month. Very anxious and trying not to get too carried away!

I've had nausea for about 5 days now, did anyone else have it this early?

MrsR16 · 20/09/2019 08:40

@purplefig we have a nearly new sale run by Mum2Mum here on Sunday! It's only for 2 hours so I can imagine it'll be packed and horrible, but we'll see how we get on 😊

@PippaPug thanks for the tip about booking! I'll make sure to 😊 bubbles could definitely be babies!! That's so exciting!

@BabySquid amazing pictures!! Your first message literally made me lol 😂

@Fivebyfive2 I hate work drama... we all go to work to pay the bills! If you're lucky, you're in a job you love which makes life ten times easier. Hope today goes ok for you and the weekend gets here quickly!

@cupcakesandglitter great to hear baby's doing ok and measuring ahead! Not so great to read you're not great at the moment... take it easy lovely!

@MrsEG you bargain hunter, you! That's awesome!!

@BostonFern hope everything goes ok today lovely! Keep us updated
