@MrsR16 at least you'll be going in knowing - I naively assumed they'd be quite chill and arrived, in shock, to a full car park and a queue of people to get in!!! Was fab though, everyone was really friendly and chilled and it's so worth it for the bargains galore! Let us know what you snap up?

@Lemonysherbet so great to see you back here ❤️ I'm sending you hugely positive vibes! I didn't get nausea until 6 weeks in, but isn't it to do with hormones? So I'd say it's a positive sign for sure.

@BostonFern sorry that was a stupid question on my part! I hope the scan goes we this morning - keep us posted.

@MrsEG your smugness is 100% justified - bloody love a bargain! Enjoy hustlers - I'm off to see downtown abbey this weekend and I'm embarrassingly excited. Yeah hopefully that website has some good tips, otherwise, once they're old enough, you definitely need to get them bunk beds ❤️

@cupcakesandglitter no need to apologise, that sounds so rough. I hope you get some respite soon. Great news about the 12 week scan! And the good news is, lots of women's symptoms do start to lessen after that point.

@Fivebyfive2 snacks!!! How could I overlook that. A rucksack is an appropriate wedding accessory, right?!

@ELW85 Cher's mdears - I'll definitely be napping on the way there! Pup walk was lovely - can't get over this weather we're having! Your weekend plans sound very productive indeed, love feeling accomplished on a Sunday!

@BabySquid ahhh amazing!! Love the foot shot 🤣 how long does the 20 week scan take btw?

Happy Friday everyone!! What're we all up to? I'm going to go for a swim and also going to see the downtown abbey film. X

BostonFern · 20/09/2019 09:50

@Lemonysherbet good to see you back, I have my fingers firmly crossed for you. My nausea started very early, the day I tested positive was pretty much the day it started-in fact my mum guessed that day because I couldn't eat my Sunday dinner!

@MrsR16 thanks.

@purplefig no worries, not stupid at all! Thanks too.

I think I might win the award for the weirdest google question of the day......'how to get cat snot out of paper' 😭🤢 One of the cats has sneezed on my doctors note, I've tried to get it off but I think it'll leave a hole in the paper if I continue. Might have to ask for a new one-that'll give the staff a real giggle! I'm convinced this cat is trying to prepare us for extreme bodily function mishaps when the baby is here- last week we had the cat equivalent of a poonami 🤢

cupcakesandglitter · 20/09/2019 10:03

Thankyou lovely @MrsEG and what a win!! Sometimes marketplace is incredible! X

Thankyou @BostonFern sorry to hear you're still quite rough 😩 glad it doesn't look to be anything serious, fx all scans come back okay and it's just baby being a little trouble maker xx

@Jessikka Sorry you're suffering too!! I was going to order seabands but then the nausea stopped 😂 I don't really get much nausea now, I can be fine one second and then literally the next I throw up instantly - I've missed the bathroom a few times and have just resulted to having a dedicated sick bowl next to me. Nothing helps for me which is unfortunate but it was all worth it seeing happy baby yesterday - the headaches and migraines keep me bedridden which makes me feel like poo tbh. 😩 Thankyou for the suggestion though, I really hope yours just eases off because it's horrible xx

Hey @Lemonysherbet congrats and fx for you - I agree with purple, nausea is a good sign for hormones rising so take every day as a positive xx

Thankyou @MrsR16 enjoy the nearly new sale, MIL has got us lots of bits for super good prices!!! Xx

Ahh @purplefig I really hope so 😂 my actual 12w scan is next week Tuesday so I get to see bubba again really soon! Ooh enjoy your swim!! The new downton abbey film looks good xx

@BostonFern I have no way to help I'm sorry but 😂😂 cats are so funny 😂😂😂

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 10:06

@BostonFern Oh you poor thing that sounds really awful, all the best for your lung scan today. Keep us posted x

@Jessikka @cupcakesandglitter SeaBands saved me on many occasions during my first trimester! Got me out of bed some days!!

@Lemonysherbet Congrats lovely - I didn’t feel sick until after 6 weeks but everyone is different no woman’s symptoms are the same!

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 10:13

@MrsR16 I’m so looking forward to some nearly new sales! My sister says they can be chaos and to get there early to get in, but once in your fine! Let us know what bargains you get!

@purplefig It’s fab; the woman I am buying it off is giving me her top twins tips too! I’ve never seen a single episode of downton abbey but I believe it’s amazing! Enjoy your swim too :) I’m loving this weather as well - got a summer dress on today to make the most of it!!

@BostonFern Cat snot!! Hahaha hilarious! My dog was trying to sit in the baby bouncer yesterday 🙈

BabySquid · 20/09/2019 10:31

@purplefig mine took almost an hour, half at first but with the little bugger not moving an inch so she could check things, she sent me for a little walk then took another 20 mins but we had a very chatty sonographer lol she said if you have more belly fat it takes a bit longer, but she could have done mine in 5 mins if baby was in a good position haha.

So much to catch up on lately I'll have a good read at lunch time.

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 12:09

Afternoon all!

Incoming anxiety attack so could really do with your advice/perspective.

Just got the screening results back and we’ve been classed as low risk at 1/2090 for Downs and 1/12000 for Edwards and Pattau.
I’m 34 so better than age related odds but I’m still worried. Am I being stupid?

stormtrooperjulian · 20/09/2019 12:31

@BabySquid lovely scan pics!

@cupcakesandglitter sorry to hear you're still feeling rough, hopefully now you're coming into the second trimester you'll start to feel a lot better

@MrsEG nice find on marketplace! We've found some really good stuff on there too

@BostonFern hope your scan today goes well and they dont find anything to worry about

@Lemonysherbet Lovely to see you back here! I didn't get any nausea at all, it varies so much between women and apparently between individual pregnancies for the same woman so I think you just have to accept whatever you're feeling at the time!

@purplefig My 20 week scan took almost an hour, baby was so active the scan tech couldn't get the pictures she needed, ended up having a repeat scan a few weeks later as she ran out of time

@ELW85 With those numbers I honestly wouldn't give it a second thought! If you're feeling very anxious then you can always go for the Harmony test privately though (if you have a bit of spare money anyway)

So yesterday was officially my last day at work! Not sure it's totally sunk in yet though. I'm sitting in the garden now enjoying the sun and I had a lovely lie in this morning.

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 12:58

@stormtrooperjulian - I think objective/rational me is saying that I should be happy that my results have improved the odds five-fold for my age...however...the over thinker in me isn’t happy as it’s less than 1:10000 and doesn’t seem low risk enough. I realise how stupid I sound!

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 13:21

@stormtrooperjulian Happy maternity leave!!

@ELW85 low risk is low risk! Neither of mine were over 10,000 but still classed as low risk. It's a very positive thing! I know with Google it's hard to overanalyse everything but low risk results is fabulous news :)

purplefig · 20/09/2019 13:30

@ELW85 you're never being stupid ❤️ but I'd say those are very low risks.

@BabySquid oh wow!! You must've been there for ages in the end 🤣

@MrsEG a bargain and expert tips from a fellow twin mum? Winner winner!! Agree - this weather is glorious!

@BostonFern bloody cats!! I walked into my office yesterday and mine had thrown up right in front of the door 🤣

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 13:35

@MrsEG - thank you for that reassurance 😊 I think I’m starting to get my head around it, but am also so tempted to go down the Harmony route. Do you think it’s necessary?

purplefig · 20/09/2019 13:38

@stormtrooperjulian ooo enjoy! Thanks for sharing your 20 week scan experience with me too, that's good to know.

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 13:46

@purplefig - thank you ❤️

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 13:46

@ELW85 so my understanding of Harmony tests is that while they are more accurate than NHS they still can't give a definite answer yes or no as to whether a baby will have Down's syndrome or not. So you could end up with a very similar set of results. Honestly, I think with a low-risk result baby is going to be just fine :) If you are feeling very anxious about it could you discuss it with your midwife?

@purplefig Yes she said she has 4-month old twins and they have just started sleeping through!!! I was like please share your secrets haha!

Someone in the park cafe on my lunch just looked at me in abject horror when I told her I was 18 weeks along. All I wanted to do was buy my lemonade. She went 'You're HUUUGE' like that. It's the first comment I've had thus far that's really pissed me off. Immediately put down the donut I was also about to buy. Pic attached surely I don't look ENORMOUS I think I just look nicely preggers??

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 6!
ELW85 · 20/09/2019 13:49

Thanks @MrsEG - the more I’m thinking about it, the more settled I’m becoming. I guess I was just hoping for 1/10000 and forgetting about it.
You look great! Not huge but definitely pregnant with twins 😂

MrsEG · 20/09/2019 14:01

@ELW85 Mine were both definitely less than 1/10000 - I think sometimes you can become stuck on a number but it doesn't mean that another number isn't also great news!!
It just really bothered me, I'm feeling a bit pants about my newly-acquired double chin and it just felt quite a rude reaction!

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 14:23

@MrsEG - no!! You’re gorgeous and look absolutely wonderful 😊
Some people just don’t understand how their words can have an effect.
You honestly look fantastic and pregnancy really suits you x

PippaPug · 20/09/2019 14:24

@ELW85 -

Those numbers are fantastic, one in over 2000 and one in over 12 thousand, if I’m reading that correctly?

I didn’t get anywhere near that result - one of my babies didn’t get 1 in 1000, which made me incredibly anxious - but I rung up the maternity unit and chatted with a midwife....I put it on here somewhere, I think last week?

Obviously those tests aren’t fool proof but they are incredibly low odds

PippaPug · 20/09/2019 14:26

@MrsEG - your bump looks beautiful and pregnancy looks like it suits you, ignore the very rude woman! She obviously hasn’t gone through pregnancy or she would of known that’s very insensitive to say!

ELW85 · 20/09/2019 14:39

@PippaPug - yes, you’ve read them correctly. Thank you for the reassurance, I think it just hit me a bit hard when you read other Women’s scores but I know you really shouldn’t compare yourself.
I’ve spoken to my midwife and she said that she’d be happy if she got those results, so I’m slowly stating to come round to it.
How are you feeling about yours now?

purplefig · 20/09/2019 15:09

@MrsEG mate, you are GLOWING and that outfit is 11/10. Side note: how good are Birkenstocks? I finally caved and got some this summer and they've barely come off. I know it's hard to ignore other people's negative comments, but it's the best thing you can do for yourself. My opinion? Go back for the doughnut! Honestly, pregnancy really, really suits you. Also I hope this isn't overstepping the mark, but you've gone through a lot to get here so you damn well enjoy the heck out of your gorgeous bump.

@ELW85 glad you're feeling better with the results - isn't this group fab?! I'd just try and focus on the phrase low risk rather than specific numbers.

PippaPug · 20/09/2019 15:11

@ELW85 - honestly? I saw yours and then panicked a little again, but remembered what the midwife said that one of the twins was harder to measure as she/he was hiding behind the other and also if you get odds of 1 in a million, you could still end up with that 1.

Those odds are fantastic and you should be happy with them, I would of been Smile

TrashKitten10 · 20/09/2019 15:13

@Lemonysherbet Great to see you back and hoping everything works out for you this time!

@ELW85 Glad you're starting to relax about your results. They are very low risk and you should be really pleased :)

@stormtrooperjulian Enjoy your maternity leave and lots more lie ins!

@MrsEG Do not ever be shamed into putting down a donut again! Your bump looks great and you're not enormous at all! Hope you told her it's twins so naturally you're going to be showing earlier. I still haven't got over how everybody thinks that otherwise massively rude comments are just fair game when said to a pregnant lady. This walking incubator still has feelings you know!

MrsH497 · 20/09/2019 15:21

@MrsEG you look beautiful and have the most gorgeous bump. People are so rude!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday! I'm almost 6 weeks now slowly getting to my next milestone
