I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

@marmite83 congratulations. I also have my date as the 22nd April. I understand what you mean about tempting it though. I had a mc in may so I do feel very nervous. I am just trying to enjoy it though. I have booked an early scan privately for 7+5 days as I go on holiday so wanted some reassurance. It just feels so long away! Hope your holding up ok! Xx

MOGMOGMOG85 · 17/08/2019 07:06

@namechange244 please don't worry. I took a clearable at 5+5 and it still said 2-3 weeks and i was gutted so not going to take any more now as it's unnecessary heartache! They are not foolproof, plus each women hormone levels are different so what is normal for you is different to everyone else. Try to relax and trust your body! I might take one again just before my booking in appointment (at 8+3) as if it's still saying 2-3 by then i'll say something and get a professional opinion (which will probably be ignore the test!!!).

On another note hope this is not tmi but I'm really struggling with being "backed up" anybody else? I've read it's common in pregnancy, and I know for myself that folic acid doesn't help (I've been taking the stuff for 2 years now, omg can't wait til I hit 12 weeks and can quit!) - does anyone have any tips? It's awful, reminds me of how it was before I realised I was coeliac!!!

CateyA · 17/08/2019 08:21

Hi all

So I just tested positive. According to my tracking app I’m 3 weeks 5days pregnant.

I’m already feeling quite sick.... anyone else in same boat? I keep seeing that morning sickness shouldn’t start til later on.

Xx

LittleRedSocks · 17/08/2019 08:48

@Pip231018 I’m in the same boat as you today, boobs barely sore and tummy doesn’t seem as ‘swollen’ to touch or something? Have been up since 3am worrying about it! But had a strong test yesterday so will just hold out hope that it’s fine. DH said I went through this exact same with my DD all was obviously ok! @Marmite83 glad we are in the same boat! My DD3 will be almost 4 when baby born xx

Pip231018 · 17/08/2019 09:26

@LittleRedSocks No symptoms today either 🤔. Felt a bit sick this morning but think it's because I didn't eat dinner so was just hungry. I know that some people experience no symptoms and some do. The tests still confirm I'm pregnant so I suppose just have to see what happens. Isn't it weird that we are basically wishing ourselves ill - ha! X

LittleRedSocks · 17/08/2019 10:07

That’s so reassuring that your test is still dark! I’m going to test later this afternoon (going to do same time as yesterday for as direct comparison as possible). Yesterday’s test attached xx

@LittleRedSocks I hate the danger zone. X

bee222 · 17/08/2019 10:45

@Sorbfsiabs

I've just sent you a friend request. Thanks for organising this :) Can people definitely not see the group? i'm super paranoid about this stuff. Just started a new job and leaving it as far as possible to tell them. I'm not making any public announcements on social media - not even going to tell my family until I start showing

FirstPregnancy36yo · 17/08/2019 11:10

Hi all, it's been a very emotional few days. I missed a period, only symptoms I had was sore boobs. This isn't unusual for me when I'm due on. I'm technically 2 weeks late and brought a 2 pack cheap test and omg it was positive. Next day (first wee of the day) tested again with cheap test 2 and was again positive. After ringing doctors and them booking me in to see the midwife for Wednesday (21st) I'm shell-shocked. Last night we brought a clear blue digital just for peace of mind as the tests I used were only cheap and sure as hell it says 3+. My gp has said I'm 6 weeks from last period but no other symptoms. Just sore bust. I'm excited but so scared too

123456kent · 17/08/2019 13:16

Hi, got a positive test last night - due 24th April. Bit apprehensive and worried about it all as this is child 2 and the memories of pregnancy nausea, heartburn etc are still etched in my mind, dreading it!!
So far feeling a bit sick and tired. Enough to test again yesterday, after a negative test on Wednesday. I guessed right, I am indeed pregnant!
Have a bit of a weird feeling that it’s not going to work out though... can’t explain it. 1st pg was MMC at 12 weeks, 2nd was my little girl, this one feels like 1st one again. We will see....
It makes me sad to see everyone repeatedly testing using the week counter tests though. I tested a few times on my 2nd pregnancy and the weeks never went up, luckily I’d read on groups like this not to stress about it and the outcome of that was my daughter - so please people, step away from the tests! They mess with your mind. It won’t change the outcome. My advice would be an early scan (but not too early, as I did this with 1st pregnancy and it fooled me into thinking things were ok when they weren’t)
Xx

Madaleinerw · 17/08/2019 13:36

@CateyA my sickness started at 4+2 and hasn't stopped.. now in my 7th week!

It's different for everyone but 6 weeks is just the average!

MOGMOGMOG85 · 17/08/2019 14:43

Hi @123456kent (I'm also in Kent!),

Sorry you are not feeling positive - I'm no expert as this is my first pregnancy (and I'm absolutely dreading MMC I'm so so sorry for your earlier experience) but people seem to say that each pregnancy is different and there is not one set of symptoms to predict MMC so you just can never know. I'll cross my fingers until you get your scan.

Thanks for giving reassurance about the clearable tests! Those things have been driving me insane. This is my first pregnancy, and we'd been trying 16 months so it's very wanted. I have no idea what I'm supposed to feel like but at 6+1 I barely feel pregnant. I'm a bit tired, a bit crampy, very hungry, slightly sore boobs but no nausea and emotionally (apart from all the worry) I don't feel weirdly hormonal or anything... I've been going nuts wondering if it's going to work out or not but finally realised after 2 weeks that I simply have to wait... it's going to be a loooooong wait!

Since your comment reassured me so much I thought I'd try at reassuring you - hope you have a happy outcome soon :)

xx

LokiCat · 17/08/2019 15:08

Hi ladies, hope I can join? I got a very faint bfp on Monday and the ones attached yesterday! I'm 4+2 today, estimated due date for 23rd April 2020.
I had a mc back in March so feeling slightly anxious about this one. Have got ridiculously sore boobs but no other symptoms right now..
I got my 12 week scan in the post this morning for 9 Oct!
Anyone else booking in for a private scan? If everything goes okay in the next few weeks we might book one for 8/9 weeks. Don't think I'll be able to wait till October - my mind will go crazy with worry!!

Sorry to all those feeling anxious/worried as well. Hopefully we all have a very happy and healthy 9 months 💕

Jessem29 · 17/08/2019 16:09

@Lokicat Congratulations! I also have had a miscarriage, mine was in may so I completely understand how you feel.

Every twinge I am petrified, I have my due dat as 22nd (according to my app) so we are very close. I also just have very sore boobs at the min and occasionally gets what feels like period pains. I have had this on and off all week. This is what scares me because that what I had last time.

I do just think though, if the worst is going to happen we cant controll it. I am trying to enjoy this stage. I have booked an early scan for 8 weeks, fingers crossed all goes ok. If you dont mind me asking how did you get your 12 weeks scan through? I havtn been gp yet I will ring next week. X

Nikkinoodle84 · 17/08/2019 16:12

Hi ladies!
I got my BFP this week too! I only 4 weeks, found out early as we were trying and I had plans for a big piss up this weekend that I obviously couldnt take part in if I'm pregnant so tested early! I'm already struggling with lightheadedness, but I'm rocking a head cold too so possibly part of that, had a few tummy niggles today and boobs have been sore since monday! I'm 35 and this is my first child so I'm nervous but excited. Dont think I'll believe it's real until.i have that scan picture in my hand!

ksj89 · 17/08/2019 16:15

I am 5 weeks roughly due around 15th April. With my third baby. My youngest is 9 months. Oldest is 9 Quite nervous about the close age gap but excited too. Already quite nauseous. I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my last pregnancy. Does anyone know if I'm likely to suffer with it again. Xxx

LokiCat · 17/08/2019 16:37

@Jessem29 thanks lovely! Congratulations to you too. Sorry to hear about your previous mc also.
I've been getting period like cramps since getting my bfp as well, so constantly feeling nervous. You're right though, we can't control it and it's important we try to enjoy these exciting times!
Almost due date twins 😊💕
Our area works through self referral at the hospital. So I filled in a self referral form on Thursday and emailed it directly to them. That's why I'm so surprised that I've already got the letter! It may be different in your area though so definitely give your GP a ring to find out your process x

@Nikkinoodle84 congratulations! I found out pretty early as well, think I was about 11dpo on Monday. The days feel like they have been dragging!
I'm like you, don't think it'll completely hit me till I see a scan either haha

@ksj89 congratulations! Sorry I can't help re hyperemesis gravidarum but hope you have a smooth pregnancy x

123456kent · 17/08/2019 16:56

@MOGMOGMOG85
Thank you!!
Again for reassurance - me and my close friends have 15+ babies amongst us so I’ve heard a lot about pregnancies over the years and some of my friends barely feel a thing at all while pregnant, producing perfectly healthy babies at the end of it. So feeling ok is not something to get worried about in itself.
Congratulations to everyone on this group!

123456kent · 17/08/2019 17:02

@LokiCat yes I will definitely not be waiting until mid October for a scan.
Not sure what route to take for a scan at the moment. Don’t think i will be allowed an NHS scan unless there is a good reason, and one MMC is not a good enough reason i dont think.
I’m considering NIPT (non invasive pre natal testing) which you can do from 9 weeks I think, and a scan is included in the price. So I think I’ll be doing that...

Nikkinoodle84 · 17/08/2019 17:06

@lokicat thank you! Congratulations to you too! I have it worked out I'm due 28th April, I was 13 dpo when I tested.

@Jessem29 I'm having perios pain type twinges and aches too. My friend assures me it's normal and she had them too, I'm a little constipated too, which she tells me is normal too, but I was wondering if that was making my tummy more achey? It does make me nervous though too.

Congratulations to all the ladies on here! Roll on April x

MooMummy12 · 17/08/2019 17:10

@Sorbfsiabs mine if I join the Facebook group too? X

Sorbfsiabs · 17/08/2019 17:28

Of course!x

nicoletia · 17/08/2019 17:31

@LokiCat @Nikkinoodle84 congratulations ladies!

I'm was originally planing to arrange a private scan before I go on holiday to Greece (I'll be 10 weeks then) but at the same time if the scan reveals any problems, I don't won't to be worrying on my holidays. What are your thoughts?

Jessem29 · 17/08/2019 17:38

@Nicoletia hi! I am the same..I booked an early scan and it's the day before my holiday, I'll be 8 weeks. I was also hesitant but like my husband says, if anything is going to happen you cant stop it anyway, least this way we will no. So I booked it! Congratulations and good luck xx

MOGMOGMOG85 · 17/08/2019 17:40

@123456kent thank you! Good luck to you too!

@Nikkinoodle84 I'm def suffering with the not being able to go to the loo and it def increases the pain/tenderness of your belly. I had a fair few cramps through week 4 and sort of every other day in week 5 (mild cramps) then today at 6+1 I had some throbbing/stabbing pains in between my hip bone and belly button but low down. I had a little search online and think it could be ligament pains, they weren't bad pains and only intermittent so I'm trying not to worry. I think folic acid in my case doesn't help with the toilet matter, and sorry if it's tmi but if you don't like prunes I find this recipe always helps if I'm having trouble, think it's all the raw kale and garlic! It's tasty too! ohsheglows.com/2014/11/24/crowd-pleasing-vegan-caesar-salad/
