@purplefig Hope the booking in goes well! Is DH going with you?

We have our second scan today and I feel physically sick with nerves this morning! It’s a bit earlier today so don’t have to wait around all day long for it. I’ve genuinely managed to keep all thoughts at bay this week but then woke up all ‘triplets?!!’ I just wanna know what’s going on inside there now. Hopefully at 7 and a half weeks they can make a proper call on it today!

purplefig · 12/07/2019 08:07

@Fivebyfive2 glad it's not just me. I like the idea of a daily postpartum massage too, for that matter! You joke but...I've actually been reading up on placenta encapsulation 😳 and I'm sort of tempted from the anecdotal positives. I'm going to do some more reading into the research though, as it doesn't seem particularly conclusive at the moment. My mum thinks it's the most vile thing in the world 😂

@MrsEG he offered as he's off work today, but I've said not to bother as nothing exciting happens. Got him doing a tip run instead, far more productive 😏. What time is your scan? You've done so well to be chilled this week, you're allowed to freak out a little this morning. Just remember you and DH are a force to be reckoned with and can get through anything.

Re: weekend plans: We're off on a family break this weekend which will be nice and chilled. Going to watch Wimbledon (without pimms 😭), go paddleboarding and catch-up with family. What about everyone else?

MrsEG · 12/07/2019 08:26

@purplefig Half 1 today, so will be logging off at lunch time - WFH too, so feel like it’ll be here before I know it. I’ve never dealt well with fear of the unknown!
Yeah I asked my sister about her booking in appt (I’ll be going to the same hosp) and she said her DH sat there so bored; they asked him maybe 2 questions that sis could have answered for him, and he’d taken a day off work for it!

Quiet weekend for us, we’re trying to sort the garden at the moment and plant a couple of trees. DH is at a rugby BBQ tomorrow too so I’ll be making the most of that and catching up with Stranger Things while I’ve got the house to myself! Then family Sunday dinner. All very chilled! Wimbledon sounds fab, my friend actually works there directing the live feed. She keeps on at me to go but it’s a hell of a trek from Manchester!

purplefig · 12/07/2019 08:56

@MrsEG ahh perfect - that's no time at all! So excited for you to get some more info. Your weekend sounds lovely and chilled. That's so cool about your friend - so worth the trek. Though probably not when pregnant! We're just watching on screen as my family are made about it. I only normally watch for the pimms 😂

Delilah7 · 12/07/2019 13:14

@mrsof20118 congratulations on the other Ethan 😍 he's lovely. Same gestation as me! How strange hehe cxx

@MrsC87 thanks honey. Yeah I'm doing MUCH better. How are you xxx

Fivebyfive2 · 12/07/2019 14:13

@purplefig, now that is dedication to nutrients!! Think I'll be giving it a miss 😂 Apparently Hugh Whittington has a recipe for it though!!

@MrsEG, good luck today!! Xx

I'm looking to buy the Mothercare Journey pram with the car seat and it's currently in the sale! The problem is, we are in the process of changing our car! We're getting a Kia Rio hatchback and I'm not 100% sure if the seat will fit. It says it is a universal seat so fits most cars. I think it is seat belt fitted with adaptorsinstead of base fitted. I'm thinking of getting it and returning it if it doesn't fit, but not sure they'd let me so would obviously ask in the shop before doing that! It's just such a good price!! Xx

MrsEG · 12/07/2019 15:12

@purplefig @fivebyfive2 All went fine - definitely ‘just’ twins! They think the other flicker is just coming from the sac wall. Two little prawn-like babies today with two heartbeats 😍 Still honestly can’t quite get my head around it! If DH didn’t think he had super sperm before....

@Fivebyfive2 Keep in mind there’ll be massive baby sales over the August bank holiday weekend if you wanted to wait and get the car first to be sure!

purplefig · 12/07/2019 15:17

@MrsEG ahhh that's fab news - twins seem much more doable than triplets! How're you feeling? So chuffed for you.

@Fivebyfive2 oh god...I'll have to look it up. Could whack it in a smoothie 😂🤢 that's why the pill form appeals. I'd wait until you have the car and can be sure it fits. Unless you're getting it soon and mothercare have a decent returns policy?

daisiesandpeonies · 12/07/2019 15:34

@purplefig yes DH is super supportive and even came home from work early yesterday with a load of massage stuff from the body shop to try and relax me 😂
Congratulations to those in new arrivals - Ethan and Charlie are adorable 😍

daisiesandpeonies · 12/07/2019 15:35

@MrsEG must be a relief - Twins is much more manageable and glad to hear they're going well, you must be so excited!

MrsEG · 12/07/2019 15:53

@purplefig I feel okay; the exhaustion is something else, still ravenous and the weird taste just never goes away but otherwise fine - coping! How’s your nausea at the moment?

@daisiesandpeonies Yes definitely a relief - I was worried I was going to run out of arms haha! How are you feeling today? DH sounds fabulous :)

BostonFern · 12/07/2019 17:27

@mrsof20118 congratulations! Hope you're recovering ok after the c-section.

@MrsC87 he's so lovely!

@MrsEG so pleased to hear your scan went well today.

@daisiesandpeonies I hope your ok today x

I'm really tired today, so glad it's the weekend. We should be meeting my niece for the first time tomorrow too 😍

LikeTheFruit · 12/07/2019 18:05

@mrsof20118 huge congratulations. Hope you're well too.

@MrsC87 aww he's so lovely.

@MrsEG glad everything went well today. It's more your super eggs than DHs super sperm, like getting a double yolk!

So I'm 6 weeks today and while I may not have nausea or extreme tiredness yet. I do have baby brain, I've managed to lock myself out my flat while my DH is away!

MrsEG · 13/07/2019 05:21

@BostonFern Ahh enjoy meeting your little niece!! Has the tonsillitis cleared off for you now??

@LikeTheFruit Ha I never thought of it like that you know - it’s a running joke I always manage to get a double yoke egg too, even in cafes and stuff! What are the odds :) Oh no, did you manage to get back in??

I’ve been awake since 4am feeling so extremely sick. Kinda feels like having a hangover/jet lag! I was dated yesterday at 7+2 so I’m a few days earlier than we thought; hoping to god I haven’t been too cocky re: my ‘not so bad’ nausea and it’s not about to kick in with a vengeance 🤢

BabySquid · 13/07/2019 07:50

@MrsEG I've also been awake since about 4/4:30 but I don't have any nausea now, I'm 9+5 and I think I've felt ok for the past two days... worrying a bit but not too much! I'm also thinking that I've felt constantly sick for the past 3 weeks now that I'm just used to it and it's become 'norm'!!
@BostonFern enjoy meeting your niece 🥰

Congratulations @mrsof20118 bet you've totally in love 🥰

Well I've got a maternity bra fitting this morning in Marks's so hoping I find some comfort. Then I'm off to break the news to bridezilla and hope she understands my views a bit more!! Then off to my parents for tea as DH is on a stag do so no doubt we'll be talking all things baby!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Fivebyfive2 · 13/07/2019 08:31

@MrsEG, so glad all is OK! I hope you feel better soon xx

@BabySquid, good luck with Bridezilla!!

So, I've decided to be sensible and leave the pram until we get the car. Thank you ladies for talking sense into me 🙂 Off shopping for bigger clothes with my mum instead!! Xx

BabySquid · 13/07/2019 09:03

Ok so I totally regret saying I have no nausea... wow it's back!! Just about to sit down to my costa toastie and 🤢😢

LikeTheFruit · 13/07/2019 09:47

@MrsEG that's a special talent. I've never had a double yolker in my life! Yes, got back in, fortunately my mum lives a couple of miles away so rescued me.

@BabySquid Good luck with your bridezilla. When is the wedding?

BabySquid · 13/07/2019 11:37

@LikeTheFruit thanks, I think I'll need it! it's 10th August.

LikeTheFruit · 13/07/2019 11:45

@BabySquid loads of time for her too calm down then 😂😂😂. I'm a bridesmaid on 26th July - current plan is not to tell bride until she back from honeymoon

stormtrooperjulian · 13/07/2019 16:06

@mrsof20118 congratulations! He’s beautiful. How are you feeling?

@purplefig I didn’t bother having DH come to my booking appointment, he would have been totally bored. He came to my 16 week appointment to hear the heartbeat for the first time.

@MrsEG great news on your latest scan! Must be a relief that it’s ‘only’ twins, much more manageable. It’s definitely your eggs and not your DH’s sperm though, no matter how good the sperm is it can’t magic extra eggs from nowhere 😂

@BabySquid how was your bra fitting? I measure myself now, I was measured years ago and told that I was a band size that wouldn’t stay up without straps and a cup size that my boobs spilled out of, so since then I have no faith in being measured! The ‘boob or bust’ method is excellent if you want to try measuring yourself, it really works. How did the bridezilla take the news?

@daisiesandpeonies how are you doing today?

We’re going on a baby first aid course tomorrow, only £40 per couple so I thought it seemed like a good idea. I had training years ago but I’ve probably forgotten most of it and as DH will be a SAHD I’ll be much happier knowing that he knows what to do in an emergency.

MrsEG · 13/07/2019 16:51

@BabySquid I’ve felt rotten all day, constant snacking and drinking juice seems to be keeping it at bay but I’m so tired too. Hope you got on well at M&S! How did your friend take your pregnancy news (really well, I hope!)

@Fivebyfive2 I think you’ve made a sensible decision - there’ll be loads of sales soon and you’ll only kick yourself if it didn’t fit the car! When do you get the car?

@stormtrooperjulian Very true! Until a few weeks ago I didn’t even know you could release two eggs! My sister did a baby first aid course when she was pregnant and rated it so much she’s already done the refresher course - like you say, she likes knowing she’d at least have some knowledge if there was ever an emergency!

Fivebyfive2 · 13/07/2019 17:09

@MrsEG, we should get the car either end of month or early August, so still plenty of time after to get a deal on a pram! Are you feeling any better this evening? Xx

@stormtrooperjulian, baby first aid is in our list to do as well! I'd still worry my mind would blank in an emergency but learning in the first place definitely seems like a must! Xx

So, I got actual maternity jeans and love them! Plus some new bras and a dress in the sales! I'm only 14 weeks but because I'm short and petite my bump already seems a bit prominent and when I try on normal clothes in a bigger size, they don't fit any other part of me, it just looks a bit weird! I almost fell over in the changing room as well, resulting in a laughing fit 😂 My mum was just 🙄😛

Dh is getting a tad stressed thinking of all the stuff we need to do, so think we're going to do a list and get cracking sorting the rooms out soon!

MrsEG · 14/07/2019 06:33

@Fivebyfive2 Ah not long to wait then! It’s so exciting getting a new car too - I got a ‘nearly new’ (year old) car a few months ago and I’m still obsessed with it - if DH tries to leave any litter in the footwell so help me god! I’m sure you’ll definitely still get a fab offer on the pram :) Our pram options seem to be so limited now!! Suppose it will make it easier to choose!
With you on maternity pants too - I’ve been googling twin baby bumps and they are something else haha. I already can’t fasten my jeans now at 7+4, in my leggings or dungarees at the minute. Where did you do your shopping? I don’t actually want to buy any yet but it looks like from 10-12 weeks I won’t have a choice anymore!

We’re telling my parents, my sister and BIL today. They are the only people we’re going to tell before 12 weeks but we see them so often I’m getting sick of lying to them! I know it means they’ll start fussing like mad but so be it haha. It will be so nice to have a few people to talk about it with too!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday x

Fivebyfive2 · 14/07/2019 09:03

@MrsEG, have fun telling them hun, it will ace, they'll be so happy!!

I got my maternity jeans from h&m, had no idea they even did maternity clothes! Still excited for the autumn when I'll be bigger and will be buying dungarees 😀
