@MrsC87, he is just perfect! Sounds like you did amazingly 😀

@MrsEG, I'm so glad your boss has been supportive! Greggs and a whisper bar sounds amazing!! Xx

So, I'm about 13 and 6 and I think I actually feel worse this week than I did in the first trimester?! Luckily still no sickness but loads of things just make me heave! Pretty tired and also... Sorry if this is tmi, but has anyone else had / is having, ahem, the opposite of constipation?! Not got any pains or blood or anything sinister, just seems a bit odd! Xx

Delilah7 · 10/07/2019 17:50

@MrsC87 ahhh!!!! Congratulations darling. So pleased for you. He's adorable x x x

I miss you ladies :(
Ethan had a photoshoot....

@BabySquid ooo that's quick!! I've got my booking appointment on fri - fingers crossed mine is as speedy.

@Fivebyfive2 I've had a bit of that on and off - not sure if it's my shocking diet though! 😳

Fivebyfive2 · 10/07/2019 18:08

@Delilah7, aaaaaahhhh look at him!! He's just gorgeous! How are you doing sweet? Xx

@purplefig, to be fair I have wondered if diet is part of it, we haven't been too bad but there's been a few take aways and lots of cake etc the last few days because of things going on. Got us some veg and bits for proper dinners the next few nights, hopefully that will help! Xx

Delilah7 · 10/07/2019 20:28

@Fivebyfive2 more and more confident by the day but little mans got colic which is stressful as he cries and you can't do anything so I'm gonna learn the massage for it. He was 6'1 last week he's now 6'13 so he's thriving!!! Xxx

MrsEG · 11/07/2019 10:01

@Delilah7 Oh my gosh how adorable are those pics!! You’ve probably already tried it but my sister swore by gripe water when her baby had colic, provided some relief for the poor thing. How are you settling in to motherhood?

I am so, so tired today - I feel like I wake up tired (and hungry). Exhaustion is just next level from about 3pm! I’m trying to go for a walk on my lunch breaks for some fresh air to keep me awake but if anything I think it’s having an adverse effect!

Delilah7 · 11/07/2019 10:06

@MrsEG he's too young for gripe water nowadays apparently! It's ok. I'm getting used to it and the not so great sleep pattern 😂

GemmaJen · 11/07/2019 10:28

@Delilah7 my sister uses dentinox Colic drops -suitable from birth. May be worth a try? I think boots stock them.

Delilah7 · 11/07/2019 10:29

@GemmaJen cool thank you. We tried infacol and HV has suggested colief so we will see x x

purplefig · 11/07/2019 13:31

@Delilah7 Sorry to hear that - hopefully one of those suggestions help.

@MrsEG I'm with you on the walking strategy - I don't know if it makes me tired or peps me up! I do know that if I sit on the sofa, that's it. No cleaning / cooking / moving 😂. It's annoying but on the days I feel semi ok, I think I feel best by keeping up a usual ish routine. That said, I just cannot bring myself to exercise. And come 9.30pm I practically fall into bed.

Had a good run of not feeling nauseous but today have felt pretty grim. Only managed toast for dinner last night, so think it's spurred on my hunger.

daisiesandpeonies · 11/07/2019 13:36

Hey girls, I'm worried I might be miscarrying 😢 There's a bit of light brown blood which has increased since this morning. I've rung the doctor and am waiting for a call back - but what do you think? Did you get brownish discharge at week 6? I have some cramping, but that has been consistent throughout so far.

MrsR16 · 11/07/2019 13:55

@daisiesandpeonies I had brown and red blood at three different points up to week 12 and I'm still doing ok! Try not to assume the worst lovely. You may get referred to your EPU by your doctor and they're brilliant at reassuring. If you're 6 weeks, they'll be reluctant to scan you because they may not be able to see anything just yet and that's less reassuring than them talking to you! I'm thinking of you xx

daisiesandpeonies · 11/07/2019 14:17

Thanks @MrsR16 - I've already been sent for a panic scan once so fingers crossed they will again! I'm also nervous that the nausea which started a few days ago and has been constant seemed to suddenly disappear when I ate a sandwich about an hour ago. The idea of certain foods still makes me feel gross, but can't really ready into it too much. Wish the doctor would hurry up and call me back!

purplefig · 11/07/2019 14:57

@daisiesandpeonies totally understandable to feel worried, but around 20% of women bleed in the first trimester. And plenty experience symptoms coming and going. I for one feel so nauseous some days and nothing others (and, fwiw, eating using helps lessen the nausea). Hope you hear back from the doctors soon.

MrsEG · 11/07/2019 15:02

@daisiesandpeonies It’s almost impossible to know without a scan so I hope you hear back really soon - but do take comfort in the knowledge that you’ve already had one good scan, and that spotting is perfectly normal in early pregnancy. I’ll keep everything crossed for you!

daisiesandpeonies · 11/07/2019 15:59

I'm hoping it's just paranoia on my part. I spoke to the midwife - they're a really lovely at my hospital and so helpful. She didn't seem too anxious but referred me to the early pregnancy team anyway. I'm going in for a scan on Monday. She said to just keep an eye on it in the meantime and go straight to A&E if I get any pain and/or heavy, red blood loss. She said the loss of nausea isn't something to read too far into, and just to enjoy not dry wretching until proven otherwise!

purplefig · 11/07/2019 18:39

@daisiesandpeonies glad you've got good support in the midwives. Feel for you having to wait all weekend though. Have you got good support at home?

mrsof20118 · 12/07/2019 04:47

So baby Ethan (another one!) was born yesterday at 37 +1. Went in Monday for irregular contractions and sent home, I was having watery discharge at this point and confirmed losing plug. Contractions still irregular and ended up going in Weds with reduced movements. Was about to be sent home and then confirmed waters had broken by a positive test. Was 3 cm dilated but due to not knowing when waters broke and expected size of baby opted for semi emergency section.

Congratulations @mrsof20118 he's a beauty! How are you doing? That must have been scary with it all being so sudden?

My Charlie has settled in nicely at home 💙 the boob went out the window and now formula feeding! He's a very hungry baby!
I'm doing okay, soreness from the tear is not too bad, it's more back ache from the epidural, nothing major but seeing as I was pushing for 2 hours my whole body has done a marathon- aching so much!!

@Delilah7 Ethan is beautiful!! 🥰 hope you are doing well.
Trying to catch up with everything in between feeds etc! Hope everyone is okay xx

MrsC87 · 12/07/2019 05:12

MrsEG · 12/07/2019 05:36

@mrsof20118 Hello Ethan!! He is beautiful. Sounds like quite the ordeal! Hope you are recovering well from the section x

@MrsC87 Ahh He is so cute! I’m not surprised you’re sore after all that! Hope you’re finding some time to rest up a bit! Xx

mrsof20118 · 12/07/2019 07:07

@MrsC87 a little as kept thinking I was going home then staying then going again. Just goes to show to trust instincts on own body though. Charlie is so cute!

purplefig · 12/07/2019 07:16

@MrsC87 Charlie is adorable! Not surprised your sore - labour is hard, physical graft! In some other cultures this is reflected in the postpartum period where the mother takes a month+ to totally relax and focus on recovery the new baby. Meanwhile people rally around with cooking/cleaning. Trying to convince my family that's the way 😂

@mrsof20118 Another Ethan! And another total cutie. Sounds like you had quite the shock - hope your c section recovery goes smoothly and you and Ethan get lots of lovely newborn snuggles.

So I told my nan yesterday and she was so gloriously happy! I showed her my 8 week scan (baby is a blob) and she cried!! Off to my booking appointment this morning. Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday!

purplefig · 12/07/2019 07:23

@MrsC87 just realised that might have come across as a bit dismissive of your pain - I'd only just woken up 😂 so blaming lack of tact (and typos 🙄) on that. Homemade witch hazel pads are supposed to be nice for soreness. Can you take painkillers for your back?

Fivebyfive2 · 12/07/2019 07:35

@mrsof20118, congratulations and welcome to the world Ethan! I hope you are feeling OK after you c section. Xx

@MrsC87, Charlie is just perfect!

@purplefig, I've also been reading about post birth etc in other cultures and said similar to my family! Dh asked if this means I'll be eating the placenta after 😂

Anyone got any weekend plans? Xx
