@stormtrooperjulian the measuring was ok, she was really nice and suggested a size that both fits and give enough room for growth, I'm not that ample in that department so I honestly don't think I'll grow massively.
@MrsEG bridezilla was really happy for us and she now understands why I don't want to be in my dress for too long, and I slightly elaborated about sweating a lot so didn't want my makeup sliding off my face mid ceremony lol
Enjoy telling your parents. I bet they'll be so excited.
@Fivebyfive2 totally with you on the autumn dungies I love mine and can't wait to buy maternity ones! I'm already slightly busting out of my shorts ones 🙈

LindyMoe · 14/07/2019 12:13

Ladies do any of you have any remedies for this morning, or all freaking day morning sickness? Honestly I don't know how you all survived it.

Up for trying anything at this point, spending another Saturday in bed all day ill and weak and throwing up just can't happen again! Sad

daisiesandpeonies · 14/07/2019 18:53

Hey everyone thanks for the messages - I'm feeling a bit calmer today. Have a scan tomorrow but I'm positive. The nausea is definitely back 🤢 and still feel pregnant. There hasn't been anymore blood since Thursday and no red blood at all so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

BabySquid · 14/07/2019 20:56

@LindyMoe rich tea biscuits help me out. And eating little and often.

@daisiesandpeonies glad you're still feeling pregnant and I'm sure that'll be reflected in your scan tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

I've been feeling so ill today, was almost sick a few times which is worse for me as not been sick yet. The bloat has been unreal today too, had to even change out of my leggings it was that bad! But, 10 weeks tomorrow and I finally feel like we're getting somewhere, time seemed to have stopped for a while! I think it's because now our immediate family knows! They say that when you tell people, time seems to go quicker. Told my brother today and he's looking forward to being 'uncle knobhead!' 🥰

MrsEG · 14/07/2019 21:47

@daisiesandpeonies Good luck tomorrow lovely. I’ve had some very pale brown discharge a few times myself over the last 2 weeks - it’s much easier said than done to not worry about it but you have to! It’s extremely common. It’s a pain though - something we could really bloody do without given how anxious we already are! Do let us know how you get on tomorrow.

@LindyMoe You poor thing - if you’re finding it really bad go to your GP as there are things they can give you to help with the sickness, don’t just suffer through it!

@BabySquid Oh bless you, hope it starts to ease off for you soon. I feel like time is standing still! All my appointments are bridging the gap a bit but I can’t believe I’m still only 7+4.

stormtrooperjulian · 15/07/2019 10:02

@MrsEG how did it go telling your family?

@BabySquid @MrsEG The first 9 weeks went ridiculously slowly for me then time started to gradually speed up, I’m 30 weeks now and the past 10 weeks have flown by

@daisiesandpeonies good luck for your scan today

We start our NCT classes tomorrow. I’m kinda dreading it 😐 but hopefully it’ll be useful and we’ll meet some nice people

MrsEG · 15/07/2019 11:30

@stormtrooperjulian It went really well, they were absolutely over the moon! I was like ‘it’s still really early days so let’s not get over excited or anything’ and of course mum and sister ignored this completely haha. It was so nice to tell them though!
Hope the NCT classes go well!

@daisiesandpeonies Good luck today; I actually mentioned the brown discharge I get to my consultant today and she wasn’t bothered at all, she said it’s incredibly common especially at this time as the placenta is forming. Got everything crossed for you today.

Consultant has now also put me on aspirin as I’m in my 8th week and wants to give me every fighting chance of getting to 12 weeks with the twins. Next scan is 2 weeks today so just rest, take it easy and hope for the best in the interim!

BabySquid · 15/07/2019 17:59

Oh I love walking through the front door... after being so uncomfortable and bloated all day, soon as the door is shut, pants are unbuttoned and T-shirt is off! 😌
Now bedtime just needs to roll around a bit quicker!

How is everyone today, it's been quiet on here.

daisiesandpeonies · 15/07/2019 19:43

@BabySquid totally relatable! Plus no worry once I'm home about weird looks as I nibble on my rich tea biscuits and refuse cake!
I had the scan, everything is fine. The consultant said that bleeding is common, just like lots of you have already said. The heartbeat is strong and the neck of my womb is completely closed atm. 7 weeks ❤️

BabySquid · 15/07/2019 20:00

@daisiesandpeonies oh I'm so glad your scan went well.

Fivebyfive2 · 15/07/2019 20:00

@daisiesandpeonies, so glad all is OK xx Enjoy those biscuits!! X

@stormtrooperjulian, good luck with NCT, I've signed up for the classes, we start in Nov so will be interested to see what you think! Xx

@MrsEG, ha ha your family sound like mine... Very excitable 😀

So, the MD for our company was at Wimbledon at the weekend and came in today with a tennis teddy bear and baby bath towel! So sweet, I nearly had a little happy cry but didn't want him to think I was mad 😂

MrsEG · 15/07/2019 21:38

@daisiesandpeonies Bet you feel much happier now! So pleased for you.

@Fivebyfive2 Ah that’s so lovely, makes all the difference when work are supportive!

@BabySquid Couldn’t agree more! PJs from 6pm for me these days!

I have felt absolutely awful this evening. All I’ve managed for tea is some mashed potato and a round of toast, and a satsuma for good measure. I’m absolutely dreading getting on the scales at my booking in appt next week!

mrsof20118 · 16/07/2019 08:45

Hope you are all good. In a newborn bubble at the moment with sleepless nights but he's so worth it.

NCT classes were fab for me. The support from the group is incredible and it's just great to have people in the same situation.

Recovery going OK following section. Very painful where incision is but feeling a lot better in myself today. The strong drugs they give you gave me slight hallucinations which was awful but getting there. Didn't help that we moved the monday I started getting contractions. X

purplefig · 16/07/2019 10:53

@MrsEG glad it went well with your families - I bet they're so thrilled for you! If it's any consolation, your dinner sounds like a typical dinner around here at the moment. Last night I made Linda McCartney pies and chips, then did some veg to go on the side thinking at least that's something. Couldn't touch the veg. Urghhh. Bring on the 2nd trimester and hopefully a return to veg! How're you feeling today?

@Fivebyfive2 I'm with you on the autumn dungarees! From what I've read H&M is quite good maternity wise, and one of the few high street shops that actually carries a maternity range in store. I've currently got an eBay search set up for maternity coats - as it's just dawned on me I'll be heavily pregnant in winter and doubt any of my coats will do up. So cute about the baby Wimbledon haul too!

@daisiesandpeonies so glad to hear everything is fine. I remember when I first found out I thought I'd just wait until 12 weeks, but getting that early scan has totally reassured me and now if my nausea goes for a few days I don't freak out.

@BabySquid Urgh I feel you on the bloat front - it's insane some days! I'm ten weeks on Thursday and like you, it feels like we're making progress! How're you feeling today?

@LindyMoe that sounds so rough - have you spoke to your GP about it?

@stormtrooperjulian ooo let us know how you get on - hopefully they're useful and you meet lots of lovely people.

@mrsof20118 Glad your little man is worth the sleepless nights and you're making progress with your recovery. I can't believe you chucked a move into going into labour - superwoman!

I had a lovely weekend away with family, but it was very full on and I'm absolutely shattered today. We got to tell some more family members though and they were all so chuffed for us, it was so nice.

I had my booking appointment on Friday and then went fine (although my Co2 levels were slightly raised, which is odd given I'm not a smoker). Just waiting for my 12 week scan appointment to come through now - so excited for that.

Those that are further along, did you opt for the 12 week scan in which they look for abnormalities or not? I've opted for, but it wasn't something I'd really considered prior to the appointment.

RanchoRelaxo · 16/07/2019 11:29

Hi guys, am still here, big congratulations to you and Ethan @mrsof20118 hope the section recovery is going well, I know what you mean about the drugs, they gave me night terrors which was awful, In my experience the first week was super rough, but towards the middle of the second week I started feeling loads better, and much more able to move comfortably, and lie on my side in bed!

@purplefig don't worry about the co2 reading, mine was fine at booking in but then high at the 37(?) week appointment, (also non smoker) and apparently it could have been because I drove to the doctor's with the windows down, and the cars around can make it higher! And as for the anomoly tests, I opted for them and that's where my low papp-a was picked up on, which was the reason for my early induction, so I'm glad I had it done.

There's so much else to catch up on in this thread, I will read it all soon, congratulations to any new bfps!

Little Freya is 2 weeks old today! She is such a happy baby, very content and just lovely, I have definitely been feeling a bit down this last week though, but I am feeling much more myself today, definitely trying to 'take one day at a time' but it's hard to put that into practice when everything feels so daunting!

BabySquid · 16/07/2019 12:11

@purplefig thanks, feeling a bit better today thankfully. Just have an awful taste in my mouth, like I've been eating dairy then got dry mouth.. but I haven't at all! With either!!
And I thought that's why they scan you at 12 weeks anyway? To check how far along you are and to see if everything is developing ok?

@RanchoRelaxo glad you've still here. Love the name Freya too. And what's papp-a?

purplefig · 16/07/2019 12:23

@BabySquid you can choose to have a straightforward scan where you see the baby, or you can opt for them to look for signs of abnormalities and from food they give you a high/low risk for things like Down's syndrome. Dry dairy mouth sounds annoying and also quite peculiar!

@RanchoRelaxo thanks for sharing, I think I will stick with the decision I've made. Glad you're feeling more yourself today. It's such a crazy, whirlwind time, it's got to be totally normal to feel a bit up and down. ❤️

LindyMoe · 16/07/2019 14:47

Yay for the lively chat!
@daisiesandpeonies I think we're due around the same time as im 7 and half weeks too!

@purplefig haven't spoken to the GP about the nausea as I thought it was just part of this whole thing. Today was better, I went into work but just left as I felt weak again, but it's definitely progress.

@MrsEG rooting for you. Love seeing your updates and twins... What a blessing for you!

My scan isnt till mid next month so just hoping everything is OK, so much to worry about im trying to practice taking it all day by day.

I did just get a cheeky Mcdonalds... And whilst it was naughty I don't regret it all... I actually enjoyed it. Smile

MrsEG · 16/07/2019 16:35

@mrsof20118 Glad to hear you are recovering well! Sounds like an ordeal. I bet you are just so glad it’s done with and baby is here! Enjoy the baby bubble :)

@purplefig Nausea isn’t too bad at all today but the metal taste is awful and the tiredness never stops. This is about the time of day I know I need a nap and don’t trust myself to do anything I could potentially get very wrong! Glad you had a good weekend - not surprised you’re tired, my heart rate is through the roof this week. Walking the dog is killing me haha.

@RanchoRelaxo 2 weeks already! Look after yourself - my sister had a real hormone crash a few weeks after birth and would just cry all day long - luckily it only lasted a few days!! Rely on your support network; I vividly remember spending a lot of time at her house that week with bags of Mini Eggs!

@LindyMoe Ah thank you lovely. And don’t for one second regret the McDonalds - their chips are one of the few things I can stomach these days!!

purplefig · 16/07/2019 17:59

@LindyMoe lots of women get nausea, but if you're having a rough time throwing up there are things drs can prescribe to ease it.

@MrsEG that metallic taste sounds awful - hopefully it's just a first trimester thing. I'm so zonked today too - luckily I work for myself and have no deadlines today, so I've barely moved off the sofa 😳. Having a rough nausea day too, so DH is bringing home more Linda McCartney pies as it's the one thing that doesn't sound vomit inducing. Ahhh pregnancy, how you make me glow 😂

MrsEG · 16/07/2019 19:31

@purplefig Since you mentioned pies I’ve gone on my Ocado favourites list and added several - just reading ‘pie’ made my mouth water! I managed a Quorn spaghetti bolognese tonight that actually had some vegetables in it. All in all, not too bad a day!

purplefig · 16/07/2019 19:45

@MrsEG love it 😂 it's the plain pastry that's doing it for me at the moment. Also just finished an online shop (so hard to know what to get) and ordered more pies and a random selection of veggie ready meals. I'm so missing vegetables, but they just make me gag. A quorn spaghetti bolognaise is a good idea....haven't tried pasta but that's pretty plain. Urgh, I'm normally such a foodie!!

MrsEG · 17/07/2019 07:30

@purplefig Me too! It just has to be plain or sweet for me at the moment. Pasta has been a good one (even, woefully, Heinz Mac and cheese in a can). Have managed to wean myself away from bags of sweets and just on to loads of fruit now too. Baby steps! I’m just shattered, haven’t slept through the night in 2 weeks - I wake at least twice needing a wee. Also noticing stretching pains in my lower abs (and it definitely isn’t from exercise haha).

Has everyone got good plans this week? It is our company summer fun day this Thursday and it’s a sports day - I’ve managed to slope out by being the games masters ‘glamorous assistant’ for the day! I just said I was on medication and didn’t invite any more questions. Just hoping the sun sticks around til tomorrow now!

purplefig · 17/07/2019 10:50

This thread is quiet at the moment - how's everyone getting on?

@MrsEG at least we're not alone in our newfound obsession for all things beige. And I'm genuinely impressed at your ability to swap sweets for fruit...what kind are you having?! I can stomach berries but nothing else really. I hear you on the night time wee interruptions too - I've started limiting water before bed which my mum tells me is something you're only supposed to do when elderly. What do your stretching pains feel like? I remember being pretty crampy on and off, sort of like a mild period pain.

Good work on getting bumped up from participant to glamorous assistant! I'll keep my fingers crossed the sun sticks around. We're not up to loads this week - got a guy coming around to quote about carpets (the house is almost finished, woo hoo!). This weekend is our first no plans weekend for about 3 months and I am positively gagging for it. I think we're going to do a long dog walk and maybe have a go in the garden.

BabySquid · 17/07/2019 11:16

@purplefig I was thinking the same about it being quiet.
I'm getting on ok, nausea and bloating isn't too bad today which I'm so happy about as we're off for a team lunch today! Bring on the pizza!!
I also am feeling the beige!
Ok, opinions... I need holidays clothes for Auz in October/November when it'll be hot, however I'll be 23 weeks and have a bump... but I don't know how big I'll be so I don't wanna buy clothes for them not to fit, so my question is, do I buy a few clothes now (before the autumn stuff comes out) and buy the rest over there, or do I risk it and just buy maternity holiday clothes now???
