@BostonFern awesome pic! What's a placenta previa out of interest?

@MrsEG noooooo!!! Pregnancy is bizarre. Interesting about tracking 6 weeks ahead too. I've got a wedding at around 23 weeks and really hoping for a proper bump (I'm sure I'll regret saying that when we have to trek our way up to it)!

@mrsof20118 ooo sounds promising - I'll keep my fingers crossed.

@thumper59 oh wow you are organised - next years too! Interesting to hear when you popped - really seems to vary from person to person.

Today's been quite good on the queasy front here and I've had a fruit smoothie and a lentil and butterbean salad. It feels so good to eat some nutrients! That said, made dinner and couldn't face it... just had an urge to bake a Victoria sponge instead....😳

MrsEG · 09/07/2019 19:03

@purplefig Have the sponge - you’ll make me feel better for only managing the rice part of my rice and halloumi bowl and putting on some oven chips instead!! My sister really ‘popped’ at 21 weeks - she had a few weeks of ‘do I look pregnant or just fat’ but then days after her 20 week scan she really rounded out! Baggy tops went in the cupboard and the bodycon mat dresses came out haha!

BostonFern · 09/07/2019 19:27

@purplefig thanks! It means my placenta is currently sitting over my cervix, blocking baby's way out - apparently they normally move out the way as the pregnancy progresses, so hopefully mine will too. Glad to hear you've had a good day on the nausea front too.

purplefig · 09/07/2019 20:13

@MrsEG haha love it - I think pregnancy is the only time I'd feel ok wearing bodycon! Quite looking forward to having a bump. Well, just to make you feel better, I whipped up a Victoria sponge and a slice of that will be my dinner...so much for my healthy day 😂

@BostonFern ahhh I see - at least you've got plenty of time left for it to move out of the baby's way.

stormtrooperjulian · 09/07/2019 21:00

@MrsR16 it’s so lovely hearing the heartbeat isn’t it!

@BostonFern glad all was looking good at the scan

@mrsof20118 sounds like you might be meeting your baby soon!

@purplefig at 20 weeks I just looked like I was getting fat, I remember mentioning to my hairdresser that I was half way and she looked at my belly like 🤨 then a couple of weeks later I was clearly pregnant, it pretty much appeared overnight somewhere between 21 and 22 weeks

mrsof20118 · 09/07/2019 21:06

Possibly @stormtrooperjulian they seem to ramp up in the evening which I heard is common x

MrsEG · 10/07/2019 06:04

@mrsof20118 Best of luck lovely, how are you feeling today?

@stormtrooperjulian @purplefig My sister was exactly the same with her bump at 20 weeks, always asking ‘can you tell I’m pregnant or do I just look fat?’ I’d be like ‘how honest do you want me to be??’ Haha - and then at 21 weeks it just popped! No denying it then. She ended up having a huge bump too - baby was born the day after her due date and 8lb 15!!!

@purplefig Oh you’ve made me want cake now! Every day I tell myself today will be the day I try and force down something healthier and every day it isn’t happening (I actually have the food shop being delivered this morning and snuck on some pizza and my fave Mac and cheese at the end 🙈)

I need to tell my boss what’s going on today (averaging 2 long hospital appts a week!) so I can be okay with all the time off and I’m terrified - I haven’t said it outloud to anyone yet apart from you guys!

MrsC87 · 10/07/2019 07:27

So here he is ladies, my baby boy, Charlie 💙 born yesterday at 20.38 weighing 8lb 4!
Started at 10.30 yesterday, and was fully dilated by 6pm. Pushed for 2 hours which was the most exhausting thing ever! But all worry it! Born on my Mums Birthday with Mum in the labour room! She was over the moon, best birthday present going!! 🥰

MrsC87 · 10/07/2019 07:28

*all worth it!!

mrsof20118 · 10/07/2019 07:48

@MrsEG still cramping and tightening but no pattern as yet.

@MrsC87 amazing news I was wondering how you were getting on. Congratulations. Are you allowed home yet?

purplefig · 10/07/2019 07:57

@MrsC87 congratulations - what a cutie! You'll never too that birthday present ;)

@MrsEG I'm just seeing the first trimester as anything goes - whatever I can get down. My cake was SO disappointing, I halved the recipe but forgot to halve the bicarbonate soda 🤢. Does your boss know about your MCs? Hopefully they'll be understanding.

@stormtrooperjulian thats so interesting! What's your body type out of interest? I'm 5'1 with a short torso / long (for my height 😂) legs, so I reckon there'll be nowhere for the baby to go but out.

MrsC87 · 10/07/2019 08:12

Thankyou @purplefig & @mrsof20118

So he has to pass sugar tests every 3 hours. He has one left and passed them all so far 🤞 I just need to be able to wee!
Had a 2nd degree tear and just avoided surgery! So need to be mobile then I can go. Think it'll be tonight 🥰

Also, take the epidural early ladies, things progress so quickly and you need to manage pain relief well in advance before it creeps up on you! xx

MrsEG · 10/07/2019 08:19

@MrsC87 He is beautiful - so glad he is finally here after all that waiting! Congratulations and I hope you recover well xx

MrsR16 · 10/07/2019 08:32

@MrsC87 congratulations!! He's so beautiful 😊

@MrsEG they should absolutely be supportive anyway! Let us know how you get on - it's wonderful to be able to talk about it with other people!

stormtrooperjulian · 10/07/2019 09:40

@MrsC87 congratulations! What a birthday present for your mum, she must be so happy. My mum was so pleased when I asked her to be with me when I’m in labour.

@purplefig I’m 5’1 and normally a size 8, with short legs and average torso.

I braved the scales this morning for the first time since my booking appointment, was pleasantly surprised to find that I’m right in the middle of the recommended weight gain range for how far along I am. I’ve been so hungry all the way through I was expecting it to be much worse.

EltzBee · 10/07/2019 09:49

@MrsC87 ah what a cutie - look at all that hair! :D Awesome birthday present for your Mum too. Hope today goes smoothly and that you are allowed home soon :) xx

thumper59 · 10/07/2019 13:40

@MrsC87 he's absolutely gorgeous!! Well done you!xx

LikeTheFruit · 10/07/2019 13:57

@MrsC87 Congratulations, what's gorgeous baby! And well done you!!

I'm off to see a friend and her 5 week old baby this afternoon, so excited. I still don't really feel much different apart from boobs feeling very bruised and sore. Appetite normal and no more tired than I usually am after a set of night shifts. You'll all think I'm daft but I quite want a bit of nausea just so it feels real!

MrsEG · 10/07/2019 14:40

@purplefig Oh god, not double bicarb!! My ‘healthy day’ has consisted of a Greggs and a Wispa 🤷‍♀️

@purplefig @MrsR16 Boss was fine - very supportive and immediately pulled me off quite a stressful account! In her words ‘for the next few weeks you need to rest and not work too hard’ - helloooo easy street haha. I’m pleased as that account had a fair bit of travel planned too, which I wasn’t looking forward to. But yes, all fine!! Just Fridays re-scan to get through now and we’ll be telling parents!

daisiesandpeonies · 10/07/2019 15:35

Congratulations @MrsC87 he's gorgeous 😍

BabySquid · 10/07/2019 15:35

@MrsC87 look at him 🥰 and all that hair!! Congrats he's beautiful, love the name Charlie too.

@mrsof20118 have the contractions started in a pattern yet?

@LikeTheFruit I'll gladly trade you my nausea right now!!

@MrsEG bet you can't wait to tell your parents, and to see their faces when you tell them it's double (possibly triple) whammy!

I've just had my 12 week scan appointment through, Friday 2nd August which is just in time for my birthday shindig so will get to tell the rest of my friends the good news on the day!

AngeloMysterioso · 10/07/2019 16:18

@MrsC87he is just gorgeous!! Congratulations x

purplefig · 10/07/2019 16:23

@MrsEG haha love it. Just popped out for a light afternoon snack of a family size bag of sensations. So glad your boss was understanding, what a star. Friday is so so nearly here - bet you cannot wait to tell your parents.

@MrsC87 all the best for being mobile before tonight!

@BabySquid ahh that's fab timing! How long did it come through after your booking appointment out of interest?

@stormtrooperjulian ahh fair enough, you think you'd be a prime candidate for an early bump. I think I am just basically clueless Grin

BostonFern · 10/07/2019 16:25

Thanks @stormtrooperjulian

@MrsEG I'm glad it's gone well telling your boss.

Congratulations @MrsC87! What a cutie!

@LikeTheFruit enjoy the baby cuddles!

BabySquid · 10/07/2019 16:25

@purplefig I only had my booking apt on Friday afternoon. It came through the post today.
