@Crossfitgirl You look fab! Ahh come on baby!! How are you feeling?

@Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 Fab bumps! Question - do yours stay the same size all day? I’m still sure mine gets bigger at night..

MrsEG · 02/08/2019 05:33

@stormtrooperjulian Ha yes definitely need baggy items for the next few weeks!! Really hoping it’s cold at the party next weekend so I can cover up!
So pleased for you that your renovations are almost done - must feel so good now to see it all come together!

ELW85 · 02/08/2019 06:56

Morning ladies, sorry I was quiet yesterday; hell if a day with work and then home stuff. Baby is fine, just crazy ex wives (DH’s, not mine :))

Thank you for all of your experiences, it’s really great to know everyone is different @BostonFern @stormtrooperjulian

@purplefig - I am 6+1 today :) woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep so feeling shattered now!
I have these really weird moments of instantly wretching and then it passes in a minute or so. Very odd!!

@MrsEG - such a lovely bump 💕

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone has decent days ahead of them?

BostonFern · 02/08/2019 07:27

Just written out a long reply to everyone and lost it! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Lots of lovely bump photos ladies!

MrsR16 · 02/08/2019 07:34

@Crossfitgirl you look unbelievably gorgeous!!!

@MrsEG mine is pretty much the same all day now, but that's only been over the last few days that I've not had a noticeable difference between morning and evening!

BostonFern · 02/08/2019 07:47

Just taken this morning at 23+2, it definitely gets bigger throughout the day too!

MrsR16 · 02/08/2019 08:09

@BostonFern that's a beautiful bump for sure! 😍 x

MrsEG · 02/08/2019 08:16

@ELW85 Oh lord, crazy ex-wives sounds no fun at all!! Happy Friday to you too - I’m meeting a friends new baby tomorrow but that’s our only plan, hoping I can get motivated enough to finish stripping wallpaper up the stairs but it’s just such a thankless job!

@BostonFern Lovely bump! You’re looking fab for over halfway!

I’ve had to call in sick at work today; first time since finding out so I think I’ve done okay! I was up 5 times in the night and woke with a slight fever too so just bit the bullet and called it in. Sat on the sofa with the dog and some crumpets ready to binge watch some Queer Eye!

MrsR16 · 02/08/2019 08:36

@MrsEG I hope you enjoy your day and feel better! I had to have one sick day in my first trimester and spent all of it sleeping on the sofa cuddled up with the dog! I obviously needed it haha xx

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2019 08:39

@Crossfitgirl one week away?! Wow that's flown!! What a lovely bump too XX

@BostonFern you look good considering you're halfway!! Xx

@MrsEG hope you feel better soon, binge watch as much queer eye as you can 😂 xx

ELW85 · 02/08/2019 09:00

@MrsEG - sorry last night was a nightmare but on the sofa with crumpets sounds amazing!
I woke up at 2am last night and couldn’t get back to sleep, so today will be fun.
Stripping wallpaper is awful so definitely procrastinate on that one 😂

Carley321 · 02/08/2019 09:05

Thank you @daisiesandpeonies just hearing it happened after 14 months is actually helpful on its own 😊. I’m at 12 months ttc now and the year point has just hit my spirits a little. But thank you for the reply x

Fivebyfive2 · 02/08/2019 09:06

@MrsEG, hope you feel better soon!! Make sure you rest up. Crumpets, telly and dog cuddles sound the best remedy! Xx

@Bostonfern, looking good!! Xx

@Crossfitgirl, I can't believe you're only 1 week away!! How are you feeling? Xx

Ladies, I have small dilemma!! Not sure if I'm over reacting... So dh's parents are buying us the pushchair, very lovely of them! We think we're going for the Mothercare Journey and because we're going to their 'expecting' event on Sunday, we're thinking there may be an offer on. But last night, mil was horrified that we want to get it early and made an absolutely massive thing about us not getting it yet or at the least, not having it in our house?! I know she's superstitious, but thought she'd just let us get on with stuff, especially as we've already had a miscarriage that was, shockingly, nothing to do with us buying stuff early!! She's said we should either wait or get it and put it in their house. Fil thinks this is insane by the way. So, dh has said we either don't get it yet and if we miss the offer, it's their money anyway. Or we do get it, keep it at theirs and at least it is out of our way! Which is fine except... I kind of feel I'm 'giving in' to her superstition, if that makes sense?! Am I just being stubborn though?! Sorry to rant, it's just thrown me a bit, wasn't expecting it to be quite such a drama!! Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 02/08/2019 09:07

@bettythecat, thought of you while this was going on, it's like what we were talking about the other day!! 😂🙄

MrsEG · 02/08/2019 09:21

@Fivebyfive2 Loads of women are superstitious about this, my mum is the same. My sisters pram was stored in my mums garage for months. I’d say just let her store it - it’ll keep it out of your way and you won’t need it for ages anyway! It really seems to be a ‘mum’ thing though - must be a generational thing!

@MrsR16 Dog cuddles are the best aren’t they!?

@cupcakesandglitter @ELW85 Thanks both! Ugh sorry you’ve been up so long! Hope the day flies by for you!

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2019 09:24

@Fivebyfive2 I agree with @MrsEG let them buy it and store it, that way you don't miss out on the offer and they can't be superstitious about you having it x

TrashKitten10 · 02/08/2019 09:35

@Fivebyfive2 I get a bit stubborn about things too, especially where MIL is involved Grin I think airing her superstitions is a bit insensitive where you've already suffered a loss but I know some people are incredibly strange superstitious about baby things. To be honest I'd let her store it at her house and save you cluttering up yours for a few months. Our house is currently a sea of boxes where we are trying to put together the nursery and I think neat freak DH might have a meltdown when the Pram arrives as well haha. If she wants to be falling over baby equipment then let her :)

@MrsEG Have a very restful sick day! Crumpets have got me through many a miserable day of pregnancy illness so I'd say they are a solid choice!

Lovely bumps ladies and can't believe you're a week away @Crossfitgirl

DH and I have made a good start on building the nursery furniture and I'm finishing off the drawers whilst he's at work today. I bought a small Ikea Kallax unit for extra storage and manage to completely snap two of the dowels whilst building it which resulted in a huge half hour snotty sob down the phone. I blame the pregnancy hormones ☺️ 26+2 and baby is getting more active by the day. Yesterday she seemed especially impressed by our efforts to set up her room and was tapping out an appreciative jig right on my cervix, ouch!

Fivebyfive2 · 02/08/2019 09:40

@MrsEG @cupcakesandglitter, thanks ladies! That sounds like the best option when I think about it sensibly! I'd only heard vague things about getting stuff early so wasn't aware this specific item was such a hot topic! To be honest I'd assumed the cot would be the big one people would be superstitious about?? Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 02/08/2019 09:48

@trashkitten10, yes that's exactly it, in law politics!! 🙄 Sounds like you're well on the way with the nursery!! Glad baby is excited for it too 😀 Omg if you don't have a meltdown over building IKEA furniture is it even the real experience?! 😂

Crossfitgirl · 02/08/2019 09:48

Thanks so much ladies, I'm feeling far better than I have done for any part of the 3rd trimester so far. It may be due to mat leave, but largely now the bump has dropped and babys head is engaged, heartburn is better, I feel lighter and less "heavy/pregnant", I'm sleeping better and tbh I feel very comfortable. Its almost like the calm before the storm! Well fingers crossed anyway. You all look great, I can't wait to see all your lovely baby pics when they come! And I hope you all have this calm feeling to look forward to in the final few days / weeks! I can't believe my baby will be here for definite in the next 3 weeks. Eeeeeek! Xxx

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2019 09:50

Awww @TrashKitten10 😭 the fact that you're 26 weeks 🤯 time goes so fast!! X

@Fivebyfive2 I guess there's a massive stigma with buying anything baby related at any point because of superstition but I honestly think do what's best for you right now - the way I see it is if I buy the odd thing here or there, even though I'm so early in the pregnancy, that's my way of enjoying it right now. Realistically me buying something isn't going to make me miscarry, it's out of my control xx

You ladies don't understand how nice it is to be able to talk to all of you original lot, I got lost on the TTC threads with waves of new people I didn't know, it's so nice that I get to join you all on here 😭🥰 (excuse the soppiness, I'm blaming the hormones)
