@MrsEG love your new pregnancy low! I'd have done the same!! In fact, yesterday for tea we had (totally not ashamed to admit this) turkey dinosaurs, but we didn't have any chips, so instead of making some, or even going to morrisons, I went to the chippy!! Btw that is a cute little bump 🥰

@LikeTheFruit so great that we have a Dr on the group 😀 I'd like to ask about epidural... are they harder to do on someone with an anterior pelvic tilt? (That's the PT in me!)

@Fivebyfive2 don't even about the xmas stuff... I'm still trying to holiday shop and all I see are cute autumn outfits (and autumn is my FAVE time of year!)

@stormtrooperjulian I can't believe you're due next month! That seems to have come out of nowhere!

There's so much going on this morning it's taking me ages to catch up and type, then catch up some more!!
Oh @LikeTheFruit funny you mention about the weigh going somewhere... I've not been watching my weight at all, and since finding out on 31/05 I've currently lost 6.5lbs!! Not a clue how though! Will catch up a bit more now lol

MrsEG · 01/08/2019 11:57

@purplefig Looking at the NHS guidance it looks like you can still say no even at 42 weeks: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/induction-labour/

I know - I saw a twin birth on OBEM once and the second baby didn’t follow as normal once the first was out, and the doctor literally ended up with his entire forearm inside the poor woman to grab its head and guide it down. Needless to say I have many many questions for the twin clinic!!

@BabySquid Oh I crave chippy chips so much!! Also have a thing for noodles at the moment so our big plan for the weekend is a trip to Wagamama. Good for you on the weight loss; all those chips just be going straight to baby! I’ve put on loads of weight; to be expected though!

purplefig · 01/08/2019 12:13

@MrsEG gosh that's interesting - I had no idea you could refuse at 42 weeks! Although, to be fair, I bet most women would do anything by then to get him/her out Grin. A whole forearm?! Aghrrr. Nightmare. Thanks for your New Look tip btw...some absolute bargains on there! Ended up buying two skirts, a pinafore dress and six tops Blush. Think I better cool it on the maternity shopping considering I'm only 12 weeks Blush

BabySquid · 01/08/2019 12:35

@purplefig so just wondering... what's your new due date if they changed how far you are by a couple days? You might be same as me now. I'm 12+3 due 10/02. (Tho might change again tomorrow at my scan!)

purplefig · 01/08/2019 12:39

@BabySquid How funny, I'm exactly the same as you - 12+3 due 10/02/20. Due date twins (for now ;) )

LikeTheFruit · 01/08/2019 12:44

@purplefig thank you!! It's just first thing every day at the moment. I feel dizzy/hungover then once I've had breakfast it's not too bad. Then just hungry all day!
I think with the post-dates induction they really discourage going over 42 weeks as risk of stillbirth increases ++. My plan for that is sex/curry/ etc etc 😂😂
But, there are loads of other reasons for induction that can't really be avoided - off the top of my head: large for dates, small for dates, intrauterine growth restriction, obstetric cholestasis, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, social reasons. And loads more!

@BabySquid I think epidural "easiness" has several factors: operator experience, ability for woman to sit still, frequency of contractions, ability to get into good position and ease of feeling spaces in back (high BmI can make it tricky but not awkward). If you can get your lower spine is a curving out position, think prawn/angry cat! That makes its much easier. It's such a relatively narrow space that any arching back of spine will close over space.

MrsR16 · 01/08/2019 13:35

@BostonFern thanks Hun! Baby moving is just amazing isn't it?

@MrsEG ooh I hadn't thought about New Look for maternity wear... that's a very good idea!

@stormtrooperjulian 😂 aw well it was obviously meant to be that you were going to find out!

@purplefig I do feel great! Aside from the issues that I've since had with my HR manager... I was so cross when I got home last night it was ridiculous! When I was asked "well, did you use your lunch hour for your scan today?", that was just the icing on the cake!

@BabySquid @purplefig Loving your due date at the moment too - it's my birthday 😊

I completely forgot to upload the pictures from yesterday! Here you go 😊

purplefig · 01/08/2019 14:39

@LikeTheFruit glad it's OK once you've eaten breakfast at least. Still, not the nicest start to the day. Yes I'll certainly be doing everything with in my power to avoid being induced, but I was just pointing out that it's not always possible. Sex / curry / nipple stimulation at the ready haha Grin ! I think I'd give acupuncture a go too, I don't think there's any actual evidence to back it up but I'm a total convert after having it for fertility.

@MrsR16 great pics! Sorry to hear about your HR manager, you think they of all people would behave properly. Have they been poor throughout your pregnancy? Funny our due dates are your birthday too - what do you think of being a Feb baby? :)

MrsEG · 01/08/2019 14:44

@purplefig New Look is so cheap! Mine just arrived, I got 19 items for less than £90! I can tell looking at some they’ll go back but loads of it is lovely (I got the black pinafore dress too!)

@BabySquid @purplefig How cool you have the same due date!! Amazing! Maybe some Valentine’s Day babies?? Mine is anytime from the 5th of Feb so I may be joining you!

@MrsR16 Those pics are fab!! How bloody rude of your manager - antenatal appts you have to be given time off for no questions asked! I hope you told her where to shove it.

So I do definitely have a UTI! Picked up the antibiotics earlier. Pharmacist was really lonely and I explained the twins and he said this could be ‘one of many’ - I think my issue is my bladder is already being squished so it isn’t emptying properly. His advice was never try to hold it, go as soon as you feel the need, and drink loads of water. The fun!!

MrsEG · 01/08/2019 14:46

*Pharmacist was really lovely - although also a bit lonely I guess, I was the only person in there hence our nice chat!

daisiesandpeonies · 01/08/2019 15:47

So much to catch up on reading - hope everyone's feeling OK this afternoon. @MrsEG cute twin bump!
@MrsR16 lovely picture and sorry to hear about work - you are entitled to have paid time off for scans, they should know! You don't even have to make the time back up.
@BabySquid I LOVE autumn fashion too! I'm really excited at the thought of being pregnant at autumn. Big jumpers, leggings and scarves ❤️ Meanwhile no idea of what to take on our beach holiday in first week of September - am worried about not looking pregnant, just fat

BabySquid · 01/08/2019 16:03

@daisiesandpeonies I think I've just come to the conclusion that I'm just going to have to buy any clothes I need while I'm away. My friend in Oz says they have pretty good mat shops out there.

purplefig · 01/08/2019 16:42

@MrsEG hahaha SNAP! I loved it - was so tempted to get it in denim too, had to calm myself down. I think I got 10 bits for about £55...super chuffed. Sorry to hear you've got a UTI, I went through a bad phase of getting them all the time and they are a right pain in the...bladder. Glad your lonely pharmacist was lovely - good advice too. I'm always trying to hold in wees as I think I go an insane amount, but it makes sense. I'm also trying to do 4 pints of water a day again, feel so much better when I do. Ooo so looks like you'll most likely be having yourself some Feb babies too in that case?

@daisiesandpeonies I'm looking forward to autumn fashion too - I think it's much easier to look put together when it's cooler. In the summer I really couldn't care what I look like, I just want to be cool! For your beach holiday you could try kaftans, maxi dresses and midi skirts?

LikeTheFruit · 01/08/2019 16:52

@purplefig totally agree. I'm up for giving pretty much anything (except morphine) a go. Bring on the aromatherapy.

cupcakesandglitter · 01/08/2019 17:02

@BabySquid @daisiesandpeonies I LOVE autumn too, I actually cannot wait for jumpers again!!

@MrsEG ooh good that you got some good new look stuff!! H&M have a sale on maternity too btw. Sorry about your UTI they're awful ☹️ xx

@MrsR16 cute scan pictures 🥰 xx

OMG @stormtrooperjulian eeeek how exciting!!!! Xx

Sorry if I've missed anyone!! Hope I haven't missed any other news xx

MrsR16 · 01/08/2019 18:04

@purplefig they've not been too bad, a bit funny at points. I'm still waiting for a risk assessment! 😂 the hilarious thing is that I work at a solicitors...

@MrsEG I was too stunned to even quibble with it! I said no and just cracked on! Sorry to hear about your UTI - they're super painful!

@daisiesandpeonies yeah, it's really silly isn't it? 😂 ah well, only a few months before mat leave!!

@cupcakesandglitter thank you lovely! Crazy to think that's possibly the last time I'll see baby before it arrives!

LikeTheFruit · 01/08/2019 18:14

@MrsR16 a solicitors!!! You couldn't make it up 😂😂

MrsR16 · 01/08/2019 18:22

@LikeTheFruit definitely the most ironic thing is that I work for the employment solicitor... 😂😂😂

MrsEG · 01/08/2019 20:20

@purplefig Yep, should be having a Feb baby! Apparently the dream scenario is for twins to stay in til 37 weeks so they’re still classed as full term. But hoping to find out more specifics next week. Tried the pinny on before it’s lovely and not too big to wear now! I got two bodycon ones though and wow - will put a pic up; as if I look like this now and my friends still don’t even know I’m pregnant!! I have a party to go to next weekend with them all, I’ll just have to wear sweats and a jumper at this point!!!

@BabySquid @daisiesandpeonies I’m jealous of your holidays!!! Enjoy - I agree just go for maxi dresses and nice loose clothing :)

@MrsR16 Unbelievable!! I hope if she does it again you put her right back in her box! You can be as long away from the office as you need to be. I do find some women in offices can be really odd about pregnant colleagues though; I used to work with a lady who was super anti-babies and my god did she make her feelings well known, even to people expecting or with young families (needless to say, she wasn’t very popular!)

Hope everyone’s doing good - Manchester is flooding at the moment! Friends in Derbyshire are actually being evacuated, it’s crazy. My area has rivers that have broken their banks but so far our houses are untouched!

@purplefig reno is nearly done.... last bits of decorating to do, carpets and flooring being installed next week, then just the downstairs loo to install once the flooring is down and we're all done! We're so close now.

@MrsR16 lovely pics!

@MrsEG no denying that bump! You'll have to stick with baggy jumpers til you're ready to tell people. Love the dress!

Carley321 · 01/08/2019 21:02

Hello all. I shouldn’t really be in these threads as I’m still patiently TTC after a year. Really crazy move by my desperate self but I Just wondered if you would recommend preseed or conceive plus to help? Or anything in fact! Sorry to intrude just a quick question which I thought might be a good place to ask. I’m not trusting when it comes to reviews!

Fivebyfive2 · 01/08/2019 21:03

Hi all!! What a day... Work?! Think I'm ready for maternity to start, this new system set up is doing my head in 😂 Mil was horrified we're thinking of getting the pram this weekend, apparently we need to put it in her house 🙄 Ah well I suppose it saves us some space!!

Agree with you ladies about the autumn excitement, it's a fab time of hear!!

@MrsEG, loving the bump pic. Tried to take one of mine now I'm 17 weeks, it's not a very good one though!! Xx

daisiesandpeonies · 01/08/2019 21:30

@Carley321 so sorry lovely - it took us 14 months and I was so desperate, I completely understand. Sadly I really can't say if there's a specific thing that triggered it happening other than a nice holiday - I'd completely stopped temping, otks, everything by then and was only dtd for fun. We had our first set of fertility tests just before we went away which ruled out any serious problems, but still thought I might need hormonal treatment. I was taking inofolic sachets for the last 6 weeks before I fell pregnant, not sure if that was long enough to make a difference though. Best of luck to you🤞🏼

MrsR16 · 01/08/2019 21:31

@MrsEG I'm determined to be more prepped next time! Throw the book at her... she's part of the reason I'm thinking about changing my career while I'm on mat leave to get into HR! I know I could do a better job.

Your bump is just gorgeous! This is my 20 week bump 😊

@stormtrooperjulian thank you lovely! They're nowhere near as clear as my previous ones, but I love them all the same xx

@MrsR16 awww 😭😭

@MrsEG @Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 I'm so in awe at your bumps - I can't wait to have one (mind you I'm so bloated I could pass as pregnant right now 😂) xx
