Hey,

I thought it would be nice to set up a group for those suffering with anxiety at whatever stage of pregnancy.
I’m approaching 14 weeks and my anxiety has been up and down, particularly as I had a loss last year.
I’m currently having therapy and trying to stay active. Eating and drinking well...

Any tips/thoughts/rants welcome. xx

Hey beauties

My GP won't commit to anything but my clinic say anxiety has no impact whatsoever. Just did a massive search on Mumsnet and the consensus is that it doesn't cause miscarriage

I'm def responding to hormones. Anxiety is on the level of paranoia...thinking the folic acid in my supplements isn't real, changing bedclothes everyday, questioning whether I've taken my meds even though I mark 'taken' on the calender. I was totally positive and happy go lucky before IVF. Everyone said so. Now I'm having tearful blowouts in the coffee shop cos I'm hungry but afraid to eat anything I haven't made myself.

Phew! That felt good to offload. I do have a great friend, husband and this place and it always makes me feel better to talk...

Much love
Mx

@Kate3150 Thanks Kate, hoping I will have this one normally, won't be back to back and I won't tear, so all fingers and toes crossed lol

@Maggie272 I have self referred to a talking therapy and also PRANX (maternity therapy). The PRANX is an 8 week course and involves hypnobirthing apparently

Maggie272 · 11/01/2020 21:33

@Raindancer411 wow! That sounds so cool! I think...if I could hypnobirth myself through the next 4.5wks it would be amazeballs x

Hi guys,
Feeling super anxious have my scan tomorrow at early pregnancy unit I'm 7 weeks +6 days. My 3 week scan was not able to find my gestational sac and was told to be prepared for miscarriage. After seeing my gp yesterday I'm still a positive and have no ectopic pregnancy symptoms. Super anxious to find out what will happen tomorrow 😬 just trying to find answers myself. Does not help when nurses at epu centre are not comforting and are rude 😩 adds to the stress.

@kate3150 hey just wanted to thank you for welcoming me into this group and sharing your experience ❤️

Kate3150 · 13/01/2020 14:45

@Rani06- Have everything crossed that all goes well for you tomorrow my darling. If you need to talk I’m here...
it’s so annoying when you don’t have the support of the professionals and they add to your anxiety. I’ve got fingers, toes, you name it everything crossed 😚 xx

@Kate3150

Went in today they did a ultrasound and didn't find anything ☹️. Bloods have been taken and repeats one are due on Thursday just really anxious and not okay. They are saying it's a miscarriage. Have not had any bleeding or pain.

Kate3150 · 14/01/2020 19:43

@Rani06- oh my darling I’m so sorry it wasn’t better news for you. Have you got plenty of support at home? Sending you the biggest cuddles xx

Thank you so much for support ❤️. Yes I do just have uni going on aswell and lecturers are not too supportive. Have submissions so I'm having to work through this and it's hard.

Raindancer411 · 14/01/2020 20:53

Sorry to hear that 😢

Lcw29 · 15/01/2020 07:58

I'm 34 weeks getting anxious about delivery now due to complications last time . Hoping my ptsd wont kick in. Have a consultant appointment friday. So nervous!

RC1985 · 15/01/2020 08:32

@Rani06 my heart goes out to you 😢 we are all here of you need to talk through things. Do let us know how you get on, on Thursday. 😘

RC1985 · 15/01/2020 08:33

@Lcw29 Welcome ☺️ You’ve joined a forum of lovely ladies who are here to listen to you whenever you need it. How has your pregnancy gone so far?

RC1985 · 15/01/2020 08:35

@Rani06 just thought if you’ve got submissions at uni, could you get mitigating circumstances to have an extension on your work?

Rani06 · 15/01/2020 11:39

@RC1985
Hi Hun hope you are well yes I will update my results once they have diagnosed. Umm basically the hospital and midwife didn't want to give me any kind of letter to submit to University. I got really upset with the emergency department because they said just submit the letter which has all my personal details like when I took pregnancy test when I had spotting and all that's confidential. Im just so annoyed because all I needed was a letter with a stamp saying my situation. Now I'm having to deal with this on top worry about my submission. I feel so mentally exhausted and due to that I just can't do work I study architecture at a different county so I travel weekly it's all a shambles. I emailed the lecturer explaining my situation and also added I'm struggling with work so he didn't even acknowledge my situation and just told me few pointers about the assignment. Cold hearted people honestly.

Lcw29 · 15/01/2020 18:46

Hi @RC1985 it's been up and down. Just bad nausea throughout and keep having very strong BH . Have been told to rest more but with a 2 year old haha

RC1985 · 16/01/2020 08:33

Hey @Rani06 I’m sorry the hospital and midwife have been unaccommodating, could you say the uni will only accept a signed letter from them? Or could you go to your GP and ask? And as for the uni, when I was at uni, we had a personal tutor assigned to us that we could speak to about anything really, mine was lovely and the uni had a student welfare department who were very helpful. I know you shouldn’t have to do this and it’s not what you need right now but it might be worth it, if it helps you. It frustrates me when academics dismiss things like this. Are you having your bloods today? Will be thinking of you 😘

RC1985 · 16/01/2020 08:36

@Lcw29 nausea throughout pregnancy can’t be nice. A friend of mine had it. This is only my first pregnancy and haven’t experienced BH yet, I’m 30+4 so not far behind you. I can imagine how difficult it is to rest with a 2 year old, have you got anyone you can ask to come and look after them for a few hours a day? Easier said than done.

Rani06 · 16/01/2020 12:14

Hey @RC1985 yes I am getting my bloods today. I emailed my personal tutor he didn't respond. Will let you know the results what happens. Probably tomorrow they will tell me. I ended up getting fever and bad chest 😫 horrible timing.

Leebeemarie · 16/01/2020 16:21

Hey all,

I'm glad this page exists! I'm currently 11weeks1 with my 6th pregnancy (5MC's) this pregnancy has come straight off my Oct MC.
Anyway today is the day of my longest pregnancy and all day I've convinced myself it's going to happen again and each time I go to the toilet I panic expecting to see blood. It's been an exhausting day and I've booked a private scan for tomorrow I'm just a nervous wreck.

RC1985 · 16/01/2020 17:47

@Rani06 I hope your bloods are the results you want. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Can’t believe how unhelpful the uni have been, so you have a welfare department where you could speak to someone?

There has been some nasty viruses going around, my OH hasn’t been well for a few weeks, spent last few days in bed which isn’t like him.

RC1985 · 16/01/2020 17:50

@Leebeemarie Welcome. I am sorry to hear about all your MC’s. But you’ve made it this far and your one week from 12 weeks which is a good sign. Remember, the more time that goes on the chances of miscarriage reduce. Fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

With your previous MC’s, have you been advised why they keep happening?

RC1985 · 16/01/2020 17:52

@Maggie272 just checking to see how your doing? Have you been to see anyone yet and has it helped?

Leebeemarie · 16/01/2020 18:10

Hey, yeah I just hope to see a little baby tomorrow and not have bad news.
I’ve undergone lots of testing since 2017 which hasn’t ever come back with anything wrong and is very frustrating. As a 24 year old you never expect to suffer trying to have a baby but here we are.
