@Avf88 I'd give your epu a call, you can usually find the number via google. They'll be able to advise you and hopefully offer you a scan to check up

Mintypea5 · 02/04/2019 18:42

@AcatcalledGary you can always change your mind on birthing options at any point so
Don't worry if you don't know what you want!

@Pollypocket5 they just ask family history of things like cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc

@OhMarnie oooo exciting! My friend had similar midwife was sure she was 11/12 weeks by cycle but turns out she was 5/6 she just didn't ovulate one month 🤷🏻‍♀️ but freebee scan is always good.

@ChesMum2019 exciting! Love seeing the difference

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 18:44

@Mintypea5 thank you, the hospital website says they are only open 8-1 but I guess they must have someone there for emergencies? Maybe that’s just for appointments

PrayingandHoping · 02/04/2019 18:48

@Avf88 try calling them. It'll prob have an answer phone telling u what to do out of hours if nothing else.

Do u have a midwife yet? You could call her?

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 18:49

@PrayingandHoping I’ve got my booking app on Thursday, I might try the number I rang for them if it’s not the same as the hospital

L0ULEW · 02/04/2019 19:14

@Avf88 that must be scary! Worst comes to worst if you are worried call 111 as they will be able to offer advice :) don't panic just yet, remember some people do bleed in early pregnancy. I've been getting quite severe craps most days but was reassured by my midwife today that it's pretty normal

Colleen437 · 02/04/2019 19:16

I spotted twice one at 5 and at 7. I rang 111 if it's only when you wipe and not enough to fill a pad I wouldn't worry to much, it's prob just the baby getting comfy. They usually book you in for a scan depending how far you are.

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 19:18

Thank you @L0ULEW I was ok when it was brown and the pain wasn’t as bad but it just seems to be getting worse, that’s getting to me

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 19:21

Thank you @Colleen437 everything I’ve read is either everything will be fine or everything is over Confused it’s not bad enough for a pad so trying to get some hope from that!

L0ULEW · 02/04/2019 19:26

@Avf88 I know I've nearly fainted a few times with my cramps being so painful, alot worst than my periods have ever been. We got this I'm sure 🍼💪 saw my midwife today and she wasn't worried at all so it's chilled me out. Feel like I live in the bath at the moment as they really help

Colleen437 · 02/04/2019 19:26

@Avf88 mine was red. It's hard not to worry, I must of gone to the toilet every 5mins but hopefully it will stop soon. How far are you?

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 19:33

@Colleen437 10weeks

@L0ULEW I can’t wait for a hot water bottle, thought I’d got away from that for a few months 🙄

tigsyboo · 02/04/2019 20:33

@Avf88 have you had an early scan yet?? If you saw a baby and heartbeat the odds are very low xx

Smiffette · 02/04/2019 20:53

Had my first MW appointment today... all feels quite real now SmileI'm still cautiously excited though!

We got this ladies x

Avf88 · 02/04/2019 21:06

No @tigsyboo I looked in to booking a private one a few weeks ago and never got round to it

The Blood is back to brown now but the cramps are still a bit wild ☹️ Thanks for everyone’s wise words xx

butterflytrain · 02/04/2019 21:13

@Smiffette how far gone are you?
I am 6 weeks today and unsure when I should see a doctor.

I am on holiday on the 13th for two weeks so will be almost 10 weeks when I get back.

Does anyone know when you have your first scan?

Thank all

Smiffette · 02/04/2019 21:40

@butterflytrain I am 9+1 the midwife just said that I need to see her before 10 weeks. Maybe give your local practice a call and see what they say.

Mintypea5 · 02/04/2019 21:41

@butterflytrain most areas don't require you to see a dr. It's worth Calling your surgery to see if you have a midwife in house to see or if you have to self refer to a hospital. They usually like to see you between 8-10'weeks. Your first scan is around 12 weeks. It has to be done by 13+6 I think most of the time to be able to get the measurements needed

butterflytrain · 02/04/2019 21:50

@Mintypea5 @Smiffette thanks ladies. I'll give me surgery a call tomorrow and see if they can fit me in before I go on holiday.

Still feels so surreal and don't really know where to start with it all!

Kaff83 · 02/04/2019 21:57

@butterflytrain with my first I went to the doctor and he looked a bit confused about why I was there! With number 2 and this one I self-referred online to my local hospital which was easy - if you know where you'd go to have the baby you could just check on their website re self-referrals.

MindyMoonstone · 02/04/2019 22:00

Everything crossed for you Avf88 Flowers try to relax, I know it’s really hard.

MindyMoonstone · 03/04/2019 11:13

How are you Avf88, thinking of you Flowers

Avf88 · 03/04/2019 11:47

@MindyMoonstone thank you, I’ve still got a bit of brown discharge and cramps, not as bad as yesterday thank god. I’ve rung the GP this morning, they’ve arranged a scan for me for tomorrow (have to rearrange booking app now as timings are too tight) just got to sit tight with fingers and toes crossed 🤞🤞

Pollypocket5 · 03/04/2019 12:19

@Avf88 Goodluck and hoping everything is ok for you.

Pop1234 · 03/04/2019 12:37

When did everyone start feeling more 'pregnant' eg nausea sickness etc? I'll be 6 weeks on Friday and have very sore boobs and a few waves of feeling sick but that's it.
