Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

@Yorkshiremummy88 I've just got off the phone to my gp surgery and I'm booked in for this coming Friday. Just call them up and say you want to book in with the midwife.

klanger19 · 18/02/2019 10:12

@Tora4 how was his reaction? He did say to me he might not react like in the movies (I watch too much romantic slush) but steeling myself to be disappointed with his reaction!

I'm also getting these insane cold shivers!

HarryPottersSecretSister · 18/02/2019 11:00

Ladies, does anyone have Chrons disease or Ulcerative Colitis by any chance?
I was diagnosed with chrons in 2014- after I had had my 3 children so I've never been pregnant with the condition. Wondered if anyone else has experienced this or was there anything I needed to know?
(Fortunately, after 3 years of horrible illness and various meds and treatment I am and have been really well for the past year- no flare ups, no medications, nada. Am very lucky)

Also- has anyone previously had a Lletz? Is there anything I need to know from that end? (had one in 2014 too)

TIA

HarryPottersSecretSister · 18/02/2019 11:02

Oh in case anyone thinks I'm a complete idiot- I did obviously discuss TTC with my GP because of these issues and she gave me the go ahead (and a hug, bless her)

I meant questions more from the POV of those who may have experienced them themselves

GinMama1 · 18/02/2019 11:03

It's usually worth contacting your GP surgery to ask what the process is. Last time I did see my GP but they didn't really say anything, and just referred me to the midwife. This time, I think I'm just going to self-refer to the local hospital and go straight to the midwives that way. Booking in appointments are usually around 8-10 weeks from memory.

CZFR · 18/02/2019 12:09

I rang my GP and they just told me to ring the midwife. I am booked in for next week, i will be just over 6 weeks then x

Nextchapter19 · 18/02/2019 12:47

Is anyone concerned about the screening tests on offer? I know I’m looking ahead here. Im 34 and although I definitely don’t feel old, by the time I give birth I’ll be 35 and classed as an older mum. Ive read the long nhs pdf about the tests etc. I think I may need a self imposed google ban until 13 weeks!!!

Saltisford · 18/02/2019 12:56

Just thought I’d chip in about early scans - I have had ivf and my fertility clinic do a scan at 7 weeks so presumably this time scale is good for an early scan. We should be able to see a heart beat then (it’s next Monday eeek!)

I’m also a classroom teacher. My head knows as I let her know about the ivf - I think she appreciates being able to think about the staffing plan for September and has been very supportive!

It’s a bit hard hiding the bloat from everyone else though at work! I did consider it could be OHSS (sorry am replying to a message I can’t find a few pages back) but I have no other symptoms and it seems to have gone down when I wake up each morning to return again as the day goes on!! X

Positivity86 · 18/02/2019 13:38

@Saltisford that was me that said about the OHSS..If you aren't in any pain and don't have any other symptoms you should be fine...you will know if you get it!

I've been put on blood thinning injections until I'm 8 weeks because of the fluid, to decrease the risk of blood clots.

For those querying early scans, my clinic have also booked one for 7 weeks so I think around then is the norm.

Tora4 · 18/02/2019 13:44

@klanger19 my DH was shocked and took a few days to process it. He's now accepted it and seems to be happy. He suffers with anxiety and any change upsets him, and he started a new job two weeks ago.... not best timing!

Glitterandunicorns · 18/02/2019 14:17

@Nextchapter19 that's good that you've made sure you're informed about the screening options.

When I was pregnant with my son, we had screening results show high risk. This was partly due to my age. We decided to go private and have a Harmony test so that we could be sure, as if there were any issues with our son, we wanted to make appropriate preparations.

For this pregnancy, I suspect we will get high risk results again and will definitely go for the Harmony test again. It's not available on the NHS in our area, but def worth it if you're able to pay for the peace of mind.

I decided against CVS/ amnio as I wasn't comfortable with the risk of miscarriage these procedures have (although it's tiny, I'm mega anxious).

Scattyscot · 18/02/2019 14:24

Hi hope everyone is keeping well. I'm now 7 weeks. Have felt awful past week. Tired constantly, tender boobs and a constant feeling of nausea. Hoping it passes soon. Seems an age before 12 week scan. Not until 4 April. What pre natal vitamins are people taking? So far I am only taking folic acid and vitamin d but not sure if should take anything else? See people talking about a pre natal mix. Is this worthwhile or am I wasting my money?

Mikki001 · 18/02/2019 14:40

Hi everyone
Just popping in to introduce myself and bump. I am 37 and 6 weeks along. Eek
I have 2 DC aged 8 and 5. I should be a pro at this but for some reason feel more anxious now than ever did with other two.
Expecting to be rated a high risk for various reasons only 1 I agree with.....seeing MW in March and scan booked for April.

Nextchapter19 · 18/02/2019 15:05

@Glitterandunicorns thanks for the info on screening.

@Scattyscot I’m still only taking the Seven Seas trying for a baby supplement. Think they include a fair few vitamins apart from D and folic acid and it says to take them up to 12 weeks.

Im thoroughly enjoying being off work today. It means I dont have to wear a bra, which currently feels like bliss! (In the house btw!)

Secretlifeofme · 18/02/2019 15:25

Is anyone else who has recently joined getting symptoms? I am only 4+4 but have dizziness in the mornings, nausea on and off all day and i can see my boobs and nipples growing every day haha! Also weirdly keep having hot flushes - is this a thing or am I just strange?'

GinMama1 · 18/02/2019 15:33

@Scattyscot last time I took just vit D and folic acid and the midwife said that was fine.

HarryPottersSecretSister · 18/02/2019 16:17

Secretlifeofme I'm only 4+3 but I have definite symptoms (found out at 3+1 because the metallic taste in my mouth and nausea was undeniable), bloating is unbelievable, the cramping/ pulling sensation in lower stomach. Definite hot flushes and dizziness.

You're not alone!

WhiteVixen · 18/02/2019 17:29

Called in to my GP surgery on my way home today. I didn’t know how they like to do things as we weren’t living in this area when I was pregnant last time. Anyhow. I’m booked in with the midwife for 11th April, should be around 8 weeks I think. Only three weeks to wait!

Generally I’m just feeling tired, spotty, constant low level nausea and tender boobs/nipples 😂

WhiteVixen · 18/02/2019 17:29

Oh and bloated. Can’t forget that.

WhiteVixen · 18/02/2019 17:30

Ugh. Midwife appt is 11th March, not April!

kdd1980 · 18/02/2019 17:32

@HarryPottersSecretSister I have UC. I have a little boy of almost 4 and am 5 weeks at the moment with what I hope will be my second. (Have had 5 MCs between my son and now)

My UC was great the whole time I was pregnant with my son and I've not had a flare since! They kept me on some of my meds and my infliximab infusions all the way through. Speak to your specialist about your pregnancy as soon as possible so they can adjust your medication if needed

X

kdd1980 · 18/02/2019 17:34

Ps hi everyone I've been lurking on this thread for a while as I didn't want to tempt fate. Had an awful few years with ttc but had a laparoscopy in November where they found endo a dermoid cyst and pcos. They treated the cyst and endo and I lost some weight and bingo! Hoping to be 6th time lucky on this one as times not on my side, I turn 40 next year

welshgirl1980 · 18/02/2019 17:59

Hi I did post a few days ago to announce my pregnancy, well I've had a very stressful weekend Confused on Friday afternoon I started with strong cramps and started to bleed fresh blood. I left work early as went straight to A&E with my DH. They checked me over and took some blood, by this time the bleeding had stopped but the cramps hadn't. They couldn't see anything immediately concerning but told me to call back later for blood results and booked me in for a scan with the epu this morning.

My hcg came back at 16000 for 5+5 weeks, which was a good sign but still had a weekend of worry. Anyway went for my scan this morning and was so happy to be told they could see a heartbeat Smile.

Been on cloud 9 all day since, just hope that's the one and only scare I'm going to get.

klanger19 · 18/02/2019 18:09

@welshgirl1990 so pleased to hear everything was OK in the end! Must have been a stressful few days. Make sure you do some lovely things this weekend to de-stress.

brandyberry · 18/02/2019 18:13

Hi all :) I think I’m 6+3 with my first, and I should be due mid October. It was a bit of a surprise! We’d talked about TTC in about a year’s time but I guess plan’s change!

As well as feeling constantly exhausted, I had cramps from week 4-5, then nauseous all day every day as of 6+0.

Does anybody have any advice for constant nausea? Other than eat little and often, and trying ginger biscuits. Thanks xx
