Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

@Melissa1215 I’ve put on around 4 pounds. Im hoping its just bloat!!!!

@melissa1215 I'm the same! I'm 7+1 now and so bloated but have stayed the same weight which I'm shocked by! Hopefully it'll settle down soon, otherwise I'm going to have no chance of keeping it under wraps for another five weeks!

@faelavie it's going to be really hard not to say anything here.
Feels like such a long long wait because I found out so early. I'm dying to tell my kids most of all.
I want them to be the first to know as they're my most important people so I'm trying my best not to tell anyone else before them for this reason. They are desperate for me to 'get a baby'.
My dad's dead and I'm an only child so I would ordinarily tell my mum but can't be sure she won't let it slip (out of excitement- I know she'll be delighted)

The hope was to pay for a private scan at just over 10 weeks when I know the odds are good for the pregnancy, bring a Pic home and tell the kids, then tell my mum and then DHs family and then let it spread itself.

But that's 6 weeks away now (I've already known for a week) and feels like a lifetime.

I am very tempted (in a week or two) to tell my ridiculously older then her years, very mature 13 year old. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep it from her (she's very observant and clever) and as the early pregnancy bloat is unbelievable for me (and it's my 4th so I've no stomach muscles left/ know I'll pop early).
I know she'd keep it to herself more than my mum would (lol) and it might make her feel a little special- being in the know with just me and her dad before we tell her 7 and 8 year old siblings.
She's also very helpful and kind so I know she'd be brilliant if the dreaded morning sickness hits and (heavens forbid) even if this pregnancy didn't progress like we hope- I know she could handle it very well.

Definitely not planning on telling anyone else before the 10 weeks but will see...

By the way, I’m finding the bloating unreal too. I had IVF so I think this is typical? I definitely look pregnant - it’s not your standard bloating! I’m really struggling with what to wear to work!

I'm struggling to wear a bra. I brought a new bigger one that is a soft support bra. Fits perfectly but makes my tummy feel so uncomfortable and tight. Feels like someone is sitting on me. It makes me not want to go out so I don't have to wear a bra. It's bigger then it should be so right size but feels like a corset

@HarryPottersSecretSister it's hard knowing when to tell isn't it - my best friend semi guessed/asked when I didn't get my usual jalapeño margarita at our local (!) so I've asked her to keep quiet... I had to go into the chemist yesterday with my 2 DCs and communicate in sign language/pointing so they wouldn't catch on...

I waited till the 20 wk scan to tell my eldest about number 2 - luckily he's pretty dreamy most of the time so prob wouldn't have even clocked anything was up at 40 weeks!

How long have you been in Oz @sukisydney? I've never been but have always had a fascination with Australia and am always contemplating emigrating. What is it about living there that you don't like? Or is it more missing your family?

@birchwoods I love Australia - an amazing and beautiful country, so much of the landscape is breathtaking and the culture is similar enough to settle straight in.

But for me I just miss home too much. Friends and family of course but also things like seasons changing, shops, the specific sense of humour (and weirdly for me, the weather!!). Oh and the NHS - I find healthcare here so confusing! Maybe unusually our lifestyle was a lot more outdoorsy in the UK than it is here too (although I think the opposite is true for many).

I have plenty of expat friends who have been here 10-20 years and this feels like their home, and they couldn't imagine living back in the UK, so it's a very individual thing.
