Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

Hi - This will be our first and I have an appointment booked with my GP next week. From online calculators our due date is 15 October, which makes me around 5+3.

It doesn't quite feel real yet. As I will be turning 35 before October, dh is over 40 and I am overweight, we thought we would have issues conceiving, but it seems we were lucky first time. I just hope that luck continues with the next 8 months.

As we are older we haven't told anyone yet and don't plan to until the first scan, so any advice for an 'older' set of new parents would be much appreciated!

GinMama1 · 15/02/2019 12:35

Melissa you don't usually see loads at that stage but you should at least be able to 'see' the movement of a heartbeat, and get a sense that everything is ok. They are usually able to give a date - but with IVF you probably have a good idea anyway.

Flyingplum I also feel queasy and have a dodgy tummy. Not fun.

HarryPotter the two threads confused me too!

flyingplum · 15/02/2019 12:55

@GinMama1 - I went out on wednesday night before I knew for indian food, and had a beer. combo was probably not a bright idea in hindsight, has irritated my tum!

Just have kind of a low level queasiness now, and absolutely no desire for food. But also quite watery CM...not sure what that means? We've been trying for quite a while, so I can't quite believe something disastrous isn't going to happen.

faelavie · 15/02/2019 13:35

Is anyone going crazy not being able to tell anyone?
Our parents know, my boss (a necessity) and one of my friends automatically guessed when she saw I wasn't going rollerskating anymore.
First scan isn't until 2nd April!

flyingplum · 15/02/2019 13:39

@faelavie - I actually couldn't keep it a secret. OH is away for another week - and even then works down in london a lot - and I just felt that if this ends up being lost, I want some other people to know so I have some support. I told two friends who both know we've been trying for a long time. I'm not spreading it any wider than that, and trust them to keep to themselves. But after seeing a few friends go through miscarriages, i decided that the whole idea of keeping it a complete secret until first scan was perhaps more harmful than not. We'll see how this goes, and how I feel about that decision if things don't work out...

tini88 · 15/02/2019 14:09

Hi everyone!
Happy to have some people to chat to. We found out yesterday that we're pregnant - what a great Valentines Day gift! It came super early for us. We started trying three weeks ago.... it seems insanely fast, but we're ecstatic!
From the online calculater it looks like we're due mid October as well. I'm finding it very difficult not telling anyone as I tend to be an oversharer (I also live in Italy where nosiness is common!= In fact, I already told my sister (she's my best friend so that was a necessity) and another friend who's pregnant with her second (for all the questions haha). I must be literally at three weeks so it's very very fast. Happy though to share with other expectant mummies!

melissa1215 · 15/02/2019 14:11

@faelavie we told our immediate family as we had IVF they would've guessed the outcome at some point

I'm scared to tell my manager, she recently (September) lost her baby at 6 months pregnant to sepsis and I was told by my other boss, her brother not to mention anything baby or fertility related so I haven't said anything in fear of seeming insensitive.

I can't wait to just announce it to everyone, I'm so excited it still doesn't feel real

toomuchtoolittle · 15/02/2019 14:18

Place marking incase I lose this thread. My last period was on the 2nd of jan and I'm 13 days late 🙈 testing tonight 😬

AngeloMysterioso · 15/02/2019 14:34

Hi guys, i think I'm only 4+1 but I'm getting such mood swings??? Is anyone else having this?

I’m 4+2 so same as you... my boss had me in tears in the office yesterday. Not the first time it’s happened, but the first time I haven’t managed to hold it in until he’s not around!

Random2468 · 15/02/2019 14:53

@AngeloMysterioso glad it's not just me - actually shouted at my boss yesterday and then burst into tears 5 minutes later!!!

flyingplum · 15/02/2019 14:57

@toomuchtoolittle

Good luck! I've been useless today. was supposed to do some research at home, but keep getting distracted by random googling. no focus at all.

coconutlatte44 · 15/02/2019 15:41

Hi everyone
I've posted a few times on the other Oct 2019 but not sure if I have here?
I am 32, currently 4+2 with our first, just tested on Tuesday. We haven't told anyone yet so really happy to have the support on here.

We were just discussing when to tell family etc last night and I am thinking we should pay for an 8 week scan and then tell them if all looks good from them - reason being my parents are worriers and think it would be better to tell them once the risk of miscarriage has gone down. Does this sound sensible? Anyone else have a similar plan??

womaninkent · 15/02/2019 15:46

@coconutlatte44 ended up telling my parents because mum asked me directly about the outcome of the ivf. We’re not planning to tell anyone else until the 8 week scan (the 8 week scan seems to be part of it for I wish I could have got away with waiting until the 8 week scan to tell mum as well!

womaninkent · 15/02/2019 16:42

*for IVF) I wish

Is it too early to blame pregnancy brain for just forgetting to finish a sentence?

tini88 · 15/02/2019 17:03

I hear ya! Exact same here. Googling every single symptom/feeling etc and getting panicked about what to book in even though I know it's silly as it's still so early!

Nextchapter19 · 15/02/2019 19:05

Heres a nice symptom Im having....constipation!!!!! Argh! I am so bloated. Literally look pregnant 5 weeks in. Haven’t been for about 4 days. Any advice?Anyone else? Hate feeling so uncomfortable!

faelavie · 15/02/2019 19:06

@Nextchapter19 I sympathise, constipation is horrible! Have you tried senna? It's safe to take in pregnancy :)

Nextchapter19 · 15/02/2019 19:06

@rebecklet hi :) Im due Oct 17th with my first and Im 35 in July! Excited but also nervous!

Nextchapter19 · 15/02/2019 19:08

@faelavie no but I will...wasn’t sure what was safe. Im drinking lots of water etc but given how bloated I am, I cant face eating any more fruit etc to help...I may actually explode!

faelavie · 15/02/2019 19:09

@Nextchapter19 sorry I meant fybogel not senna! (I don't think I can blame pregnancy brain at this early stage!)

Nextchapter19 · 15/02/2019 19:11

@faelavie yes am a bit fuzzy too! I know what you mean about no telling anyone. I haven’t told my best friend or sister and am trying to wait another 7 weeks! This will be a test of strength, along with the bloat!

WhiteVixen · 15/02/2019 20:18

Hello all. Tentatively sticking my head round the door. I got a very surprise bfp yesterday. This is my second child, but third pregnancy. Daughter has just turned 7, I had a MMC in October 2013. We’ve been TTC for three years, struggling with secondary infertility. I wasn’t even sure I was ovulating at one point. I had a period 10th January, but then a very short light ‘period’ last week. It didn’t seem right, based on my normal cycle so I thought I’d do a test anyway. And it came up positive. I’m in complete shock, it feels like someone’s playing a joke on me.

I’m feeling rather cautious as when I was pregnant in 2013, I had a period-like bleed, but then did a test on a hunch a week or so later, and it came up positive. When I got to my dating scan, they found I’d had a MMC. The egg had fertilised and implanted but never grew. So I just had an empty sac in there. No symptoms or signs to suggest anything was wrong for 12 weeks. I had an ERPC as my body was showing no signs of misscarrying on its own.

So I think I’m around five weeks, going off my January period dates, which would have me due 17th October. But I’m not really getting excited yet until I know there’s something in there.

Have added myself in. Anyone else craving milk or cold water to drink. I literally don't want anything else to drink. I remember drinking a lot of milk when expecting dd.
Will be telling my parents tomorrow night (once dd is in bed as when she knows she'll tell the world!) We've got a scan booked for Thursday which could be about 7+5 ish. Hoping for good news and then I'll prob tell my sister but will wait til 12 weeks to tell DD

@Nextchapter19 I'm so bloated it's unbelievable, I'm 6 weeks and you'd think I was 5 months, it's so uncomfortable and I feel so horrible and none of my clothes fit me... but my weight is the same, it's so confusing
