Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

Hi all,
Hoping I can join this chat...got my bfp last night although the line was faint, done another this morning and the line is a lot stronger. I had a miscarriage in December so not entirely sure on my ovulation dates. I've estimated that af was due today.
Just wanted some advise really, I'm feeling very anxious around it all. I had some bad cramps about 10 days ago and then one sided paint a couple days back.

MamaDane · 03/02/2019 10:12

@Ann I've been having cramps throughout this pregnancy so far. I even went to the doctor because I was concerned about an ectopic. So I had an early scan and everything looked fine. It could mean something but unless it's really bad pain for hours, it often just means ligament pain.

Ann88l · 03/02/2019 10:47

@MamaDane I think the cramps may of been implantation. I think I'm just anxious because of the MC.

MamaDane · 03/02/2019 10:52

@Ann it could definitely just be implantation. MC do change how you feel about it all, so I get it. Luckily most of pregnancies end up in a baby 😉

Someone just shared this brilliant site on another thread- excellent reassurance re odds of miscarriage.
datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

Glitterandunicorns · 03/02/2019 12:46

@DustyDoorframes thank you for sharing that. It is reassuring to check out the statistics!

DustyDoorframes · 03/02/2019 14:01

Urgh I'm a hormonal mess, just had a screaming row with the entire household, and I've lost it with the kids most days last week. Doesn't bode well for a calm and peaceful welcome for an extra sibling...

Ann88l · 03/02/2019 14:12

@DustyDoorframes go have a nice relaxing bath!! I know how your feeling my hormones are all over the place all I do is cry right now

DustyDoorframes · 03/02/2019 14:20

Thank you @Ann88l! DP took the kids out for the day all day yesterday so I could rest, and I had just got up from a nap before Row-mageddon, so I think disappearing for a bath might be taking the piss a bit...
Just put DD down for a nap so hiding with her briefly, anyway!

Trinnidad · 03/02/2019 15:10

Congratulations everyone! Mind if I join? Just had my BFP this morning! I'm 32, #1, it was our 3rd cycle and I was 3 days late. I had been having some twinges on my left side but that was about it! Still hoping to do a digital test when I can get one to prove I'm not crazy - it's not sunk in yet and I can't believe it! I would be due early October I think.

By the way @Womblove I was my parents' accidental 4th, my Mum was 40 when she had me - don't be scared! Was never a problem for me and they're still going strong! There are way more parents in their 40s now so I don't think you'll feel unusual. I have been worrying about only starting at 32 - I'd always hoped I'd be at this stage when I was about 28!

stanner81 · 03/02/2019 15:16

Hi all, I got by bfp last week. Due early October. We've been TTC for 18 months, so lots of anxiety about this pregnancy working out. Lots of lower abdominal cramps/twinges in the last week also crazy nausea which I never had with our first 2 children.

Trinnidad · 03/02/2019 16:25

Phew! Finally read down the whole thread - what a lovely crowd you are! I've updated the list too (but. It sure why formatting has gone awry!

EDD 6th October 1st baby

Had a bit of a freak out last night, wondering how I'm going to cope with work while pregnant (office job, but high stress and I was exhausted even before pregnancy). Then I looked up the earliest date I'd be able to go on mat leave, something around July 21. If I saved all my annual leave (it renews in April) I would get 7 weeks off, meaning I could be off from early June.

Is that totally insane? Am I wasting it, will I need it more after the birth? Everyone seems to say YES on this subject but I suspect most people don't have the kind of social anxiety I do. The idea of having to constantly talk about my pregnancy and being judged in the office (I'm obese) is knightmarish and I want to disappear. I am also already so exhausted, and I know there is no cover or help at work meaning my projects will start to suffer. If I gave them these intentions of such an early end date they would have to consider handing some projects to someone else, recruitment, etc. I know how lazy they are with replacing people who left (5 left in Nov - none have been replaced yet!) so it's tempting to force the issue.

I guess I could go off sick if I am feeling really bad by June, but I will have to look into how that affects mat pay where I am.

The idea that I could be off work in 4 or 5 months is kind of dreamy right now. There is a slight worry about 'what if I lose it' and then I've used up all my annual leave... and have to return in mortifying circumstances.

Sorry, long post. This kept me awake last night.
