Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

I am not sure if you have heard about the Positive Birth Movement?

Its a free monthly meet up that takes place all over the country and parts of the world too. Each month a different topic is discussed, for example Feb is about Birth Plans.

You can look up you local one, some are evenings but mostly day times.

I run my local one, they are a brilliant way of meeting mothers, listening, sharing and supporting ALL kinds of birth

Anyone can register to run one, you are just holding space for the discussions

@Womblove I'll definitely look this up. For DD i went to a Midwifery led hospital, laboured all day listening to Marie mongan CD and using plenty of breathing techniques. I would say I enjoyed it--- until I had to be transferred to a hospital for some doctor intervention 🙄

I'll be using all the same techniques this time round again 🙌🏻

Womblove · 01/02/2019 14:52

@Mcstark7 sometimes we need a little help and we know what is right for us x

MamaDane · 01/02/2019 15:08

Sounds really interesting @Womblove, I don't think we have the same options in Denmark but I plan on giving birth while as drugged up as possible (low pain tolerance), epidural and laughing gas yes please, especially now that we're having twins. But the whole hypnobirthing is especially interesting. I want to look more into it! Thanks

Womblove · 01/02/2019 15:46

@MamaDane Hypnobirthing can be useful for all births even with csections, connecting you your babies with calm breath and body sends them a lovely supply of oxygen and blood flow so helping them through their birth journey too.

Rememberallball · 01/02/2019 16:21

Afternoon ladies. Got yesterday’s blood results and they’ve more than doubled again since Tuesday at a whopping 5,344!! It is now looking inevitable that both embryos have lasted this far!!

I have also been able to organise a viability scan for February 12th while we are in Bermuda. It took the managing director if the scanning clinic to speak to both her business insurers to confirm they cover self funding visitors to the island, also she had an agreement from the island’s chief obstetrician that she will ‘sign off’ the request if I produced my paperwork. That has all gone off this afternoon so just waiting to hear back from tgem to confirm it all.

Lastly I spoke to the local midwife this morning and she has booked to see me the day after we get back from the cruise. I will be 10+5 by then so will probably miss out on a chance of an NT scan by the time they’ve booked me in for it!!

How is everyone feeling today? I’m having a lazy day - though I have sorted out what needs ironing ready for our holiday!!

Glitterandunicorns · 01/02/2019 17:15

Just a note to say I found hypnobirthing incredibly useful in the weeks leading up to my son's birth when I became extremely anxious.

I'd definitely recommend giving it a go!

Womblove · 01/02/2019 17:26

@Rememberallball exciting!!! x

@Glitterandunicorns I have already started again ;) Never too soon x

Rememberallball · 01/02/2019 17:37

I have to say I’m looking to have a c.section for a few reasons. I hear they’re not common in Cornwall but, given my age, health conditions I’ve got and possibility of twins, I don’t want to get exhausted with a trial labour only to need a section. I just have a feeling I’m going to have to fight to get what I want!!

DustyDoorframes · 01/02/2019 17:57

@Rememberallball if you are over 40 the NT test is basically guaranteed to come back high risk, so you are as well going straight for the harmony test anyway (although it's harder with twins!). I'd have thought the hospital will be v keen for a C section too- even very holistic hospitals tend that way very keenly for twins!

Claireb2203 · 01/02/2019 19:33

Does anyone else have sore boobs one day and not the next?

pandaobsessed · 01/02/2019 20:39

@Claireb2203 yes, me! One day they're ok and the next, they're sorer than the last time 🙈

Rememberallball · 01/02/2019 20:45

@DustyDoorframes, although I’m over 40, my egg donor was only 25!! It’s going to cause no end of confusion for the system that calculates risk!!

DustyDoorframes · 01/02/2019 21:15

@Rememberallball Haha take that "easy" calculation! I wouldn't be surprised if they just throw up their hands in dismay and give up! Especially with twins in the mix too!

TillyTheTiger · 01/02/2019 21:19

Just to echo PP, hypnobirthing is amazing and helped me so much when I gave birth to my son! Would definitely recommend it.

Katiebaby13 · 01/02/2019 21:48

Hi @Womblove thanks for that list of advice.

I was just wondering if you had any suggestions of where I could look up some hypnobirthing stuff, is it on YouTube?

This is my first pregnancy and feeling very uneducated.

Thank you Smile

Sienna9522 · 02/02/2019 01:56

Hey all,

Got my BFP on Monday (a super faint line) and have tested each day since, with lines getting stronger🤞🏼As of today, I have officially missed AF.

Based on LMP, EDD is 13th Oct. I’m 28 and have a DD who will be 2 next month. 1st cycle of trying so I’m in shock it happened so quickly. I’m planning on ringing GP and booking in with midwife for 8 weeks, when I’m 5 or 6 weeks. I also plan to get an early scan at around 7 weeks, as I did with DD. I’m too anxious to hold out for the first scan.

Nice to meet you all 😊

@Claireb2203 Me too. Had 2 days of no symptoms at all, then the sore boobs and the nausea returned with a vengeance yesterday. Today seems like it's going to be a symptomless day already.

@Womblove Thanks for the tips. Definitely something to consider no matter how early it is.

Havent checked this thread in days as I joined the fb group (but not a lot seems to be going on on there...) but just caught up with all the messages - congratulations everyone on their BFPs especially the inspiring story of @Snootie4Bear wow!! What a blessing

I would like to add to the copy and paste thread please :-)

Hi everyone!
I am starting with a personal trainer on Tuesday. He was reluctant to work with me but agrees that it would be safer for him to monitor my form etc.
I'm overweight and worried about having to carry even more!
Does anyone know a safe way to lose weight? Other than walking and swimming of course xx

Glitterandunicorns · 02/02/2019 09:15

Congratulations @Sienna9522 and welcome!

Womblove · 02/02/2019 11:27

@Rememberallball

Have you heard about women centred or gentle csections?

Here is some info on women centred / family centred / natural csection too

If you decide the safest way for your baby to be born is via csection then its your right for you to have a women centred csec. Just discussing it with your midwife is not enough as it depends on the surgeon on the day. BUT if its been agreed in advance and signed off then it will happen. So book an appointment with your supervisor of midwives (SOM) or the PMA - Professional Midwifery Advocates and discuss your birth plans. If a c-section is needed then say you would like your plan to be followed and discuss all parts then have signed off in your notes and your end and their end so there is no need for negotiating on the day.

If you understand your options, your choices are supported, you feel listened to, informed and at ease with the support around you then your birth will be positive no matter what the journey. These are all templates so personalise to your needs.

Even if having a cesection you can continue to connect to your baby, staying in your birthing brain and breathing slowly and deeply to your baby, helping your body to continue to produce the birthing hormone oxytocin to help your uterus contract and for your baby to receive this hormone as well as a good oxygen/blood supply. You are still birthing your baby and part of the process.

Great video for women centred csection explaining it:
