Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

I puked in my own mouth today and have insane nausea. Been wearing seabands all day. Nearly puked in the bus too. It was terrible. I had no nausea really until yesterday (5+2) and bam! It hit.

Anyone know how to manage the nausea? Snacks and such. The only thing that doesn't make me ill thinking about is carrots and licorice.

Katiebaby13 · 31/01/2019 18:29

Hi all,

So happy I found this thread. I found at last week I am pregnant and it's my first. I'm 30 years old, went to the doctors yesterday as I thought that was what you were meant to do but it was pretty pointless and didn't get much information, I had to speak to the receptionist afterwards to go on a list to see the midwife. They should call in a few weeks apparently so it all just doesn't feel real. Apparently due 1st of October.

Snootie4Bear · 31/01/2019 18:30

Oh wow @MamaDane. My cat's a real diva so God only knows what she'll make of it lol. I heard cats do know but had never heard anyone's experience. With nausea, I plan to have fresh ginger tea and dried fennel seeds tea if it strikes me. But limited quantities ss too much ginger is no good. Trying to be as natural and wholesome as possible.

Snootie4Bear · 31/01/2019 18:37

@Katiebaby13 Hello, welcome and congratulations! I had the same ridiculous response from the doctor too. She isn't my usual doctor. I told her I'd had an ectopic and then a chemical which was IVF and that I was pregnant. A) she didn't believe me and B) when I said it was a natural pregnancy she was even more dumbfounded! So completely unprofessional! Wonder why they lack so much emotion? Hope it's not like this throughout my journey! My EDD is 5 Oct

MamaDane · 31/01/2019 18:39

@Snootie4Bear she may surprise you, sometimes they get super affectionate and other times they become even more cat (indifferent) and sometimes they just ignore you 😂

Yeah I want to be as natural as well. Within reason at least. Maybe you're one the lucky ones who won't get nauseous or have you already experienced a bit?

Katiebaby13 · 31/01/2019 18:51

@Snootie4Bear sorry to hear about your experiences. I really hope things get more supportive for us both. I guess I kind of just wanted confirmation and comforting. This is something I really wanted but it is scary. I just wanted information, like everyone, any feeling or twinge you get is nerve wracking.

Dyra · 31/01/2019 18:56

Congrats to all the new joiners! And to @Mamadane! Twins!!! No wonder you're being so sick now. Hope it passes quickly.

@Snootie4bear The total number of people (who I know IRL) who know I'm pregnant is exactly 3. And it's not going to go up by much more than that before 12 weeks. Last time I told everyone and I found it made it all so much worse when it all came crashing down a few weeks later. Still worried it's going to happen again, so it's staying between myself, my husband and one of my colleagues who knew I was taking clomid and out and out asked me if it had worked, for now.

Doctor appointment tomorrow which is fortunate. Really starting to worry as all my symptoms have effectively disappeared over the past two days which is exactly what happened last time. Tried popping downstairs to one of my ultrasound colleagues to see if I could get a sneaky early scan but she wasn't in today unfortunately. Oh well. Try again next week. At least if it's all going well there will be a little bit more to see.

How's everyone handling the cold and the snow?

angel0071987 · 31/01/2019 18:58

@MamaDane nibbling
Gingernuts has always helped me. And sucking on peppermints.
Eating and drinking little and often and when I can't even keep water down teeny tiny sips of lucozade sport.
Also gin gins (sweeties obvs) from Holland and Barrett helped somewhat too

TillyTheTiger · 31/01/2019 20:44

Hi all, may I join?
Age 33, already have one son who is now 2y8m. Been TTC since July 2017 with one miscarriage in September 2018 at 13 weeks, so I'm really hoping this one sticks.
Flowers to those who have suffered losses previously or struggled through IVF etc - it sounds like it's been a tough road for a lot of us!
Got my BFP at 11DPO and I'm due 12th October, I had a feeling I must be pregnant because perfectly normal smells were suddenly overwhelming, and coffee started to taste like soil.
12 week scan seems like an age away, I am seriously wishing away the days at the moment!
Off to see if I can find the Facebook group now.

Claireb2203 · 31/01/2019 20:49

@MamaDane I found sherbet lemons helped me with the sickness. Ginger nut biscuits did a little bit but mainly the sherbet lemons. And also eating little and often. I've got my booking appointment 7th march. Feels like forever away!

I have had some spotting (literally just a couple of tiny pink spots on wiping) once on most days for the last week. Today I had some cramps or about 15 minutes but they've stopped and I couldn't remember if it was normal levels of pain or not (I had an MC a year ago). I keep having sort of full feelings like when your period is due too. I'm 5 weeks today. Has anyone had similar feelings?
