I know how polite you all are, but I would really like the most honest response you can think of -

Dh wants to name Boy twin 'Archie'.

I like it but I'm really worried about the reaction it might get from other people. (hope that doesn't make me too shallow?)

Please could you tell me what you really think of it...

Love Archie and Morgan - I don't think you necessarily have to use the full nameo n tha birth certificate, imagine if he gets married and the vicar reads out Archibald and all his mates start taking the piss!! Seriously though my best mate called her boy Freddie and put that on the birth certificate and i don't worry too much about when they are older as I've date a Charlie who was christened that and he loved his name, Charles would've been too stuffy for him but he was a Solicitor and his name didn't make him sound any less professional or childish.

I have spent the last few months panicking about what people have thought of my choices and the reactions have been so vast that i have come to the conclusion that NO name will ever appeal to everyone so if in your heart you love Archie & Morgan then you should just go with that, i have chosen my boys name should it be a boy and its short for something else and ends in 'ie' like Archie does and I heard it when i read an interview with a singer who was called it and he was gorgeous and his name didn't make him sound any the less manly or mature or gorgeous, in fact he was so damn manly and gorgeous that i am naming my unborn child after him!!

Good luck with deciding...

Thanks for the recent positive comments, (monday's), I think the names are pretty much stuck now, it will be Archie on his birth certicate though (I actually liked the idea of Archer, but dh thinks his friends will take the piss!)

And thankyou Soupdragon for saying that Morgan is not a surname... in my book it says it is welsh and means 'great', but I prefer the meaning you found 'the edge of the sea'. Especially as dh is well into boats etc! It is also definitely a male or female name.

Not that I have a problem with any comments here, it was good to make me think a little harder about them, but I really think Archie as an adults name is fine, and we know of no Archie's where we live... Maybe I will start the trend here!
