but then they also have a 'Bear' and a 'Phoenix' and a variety of made-up names

Just because some rampant pet lovers start calling their dogs molly and rosie doesn't make 'em dog names. If all dogs wore a blue collar, wouldn't make blue a 'dog colour'.

I know a baby Rufus and it is NOT a dogs name!
