Although, I also like Rex!

Aloha · 27/06/2007 16:07

I though you were going to say Fido

3andnomore · 27/06/2007 16:07

ime if it is used as a human name than it is usually used for someone "upper class" or whose parents want to be upper class...
know a fair few dogs that go by the name of Rufus, so, for me it will always be a dogs name.

Wisteria · 27/06/2007 16:07

IMO - all Rufus' are bloody gorgeous! - apart from the Radio 1 guy that was on Glastonbury but even he was quite acceptable! Go for it - I was ridiculed for wanting to call my unborn son Fergus - she was female so everyone just breathed a sigh of relief - I would've done it tho' I love the name!

bundle · 27/06/2007 16:08

lol

i know a couple of spikes (which is borderline)

but rufus is fine

(depends on surname though)

SpacePuppy · 27/06/2007 16:08

OMG, I thought when I read the title, "I wonder if it's Rufus!" I had a friend at school with a bull terrier called Rufus, he was hit by a car and died.

theprecious · 27/06/2007 17:10

the school friend or the bull terrier?

My Dad is keen on Rover for ours if he's a boy. Quite like Rufus & I like Rory but it's quite doggy-like too.

Blu · 27/06/2007 17:11

I know several people called rufus - great name!

RnBee · 27/06/2007 17:15

Rufus - as in Sewell (tall, dark and totally gorgeous).

as in Wainwright - (very talented singer).

I like it

NKF · 27/06/2007 17:27

Yup. A golden retreiver. Or a red setter.

pointydog · 27/06/2007 17:27

Dog or boho posh

mum2george · 27/06/2007 17:27

Think it depends where you live

FLIER · 27/06/2007 17:27

No.
When I hear Rufus I think Rufus Sewell-dark, brooding good looks

indiasmum · 27/06/2007 17:30

no i think its lush, makes me think of tanned dark floppy haired men riding horses through the fields being heroic and just damn sexy. {oooohhhhhhhhhh i'm coming over all unnecessary}
