I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

Hi all, just wanted to tell you guys I’m being induced on the 9th (just once week!) as my blood pressure was a bit high at my appointment today and they diagnosed me with gestational hypertension. Until then I’ve been told to rest and I’ll have a home visit in a couple days to ensure I don’t get worse before then. Hopefully everything goes well as this does mean I could develop preeclampsia but I’m sending off a urine sample to test for protein in my urine (a sign of preeclampsia) xx

@BeverlyZimek oooo how exciting that you’ll get to meet them soon!
I hope everything goes well and nothing escalates with your health! Congrats and good luck ❤️

Wow that’s not long at all, congratulations! I bet you’re so excited! I hope your health gets better or at least doesn’t get any worse! Smile

BeverlyZimek · 03/01/2019 10:34

Yes I’m absolutely buzzing, just paying it all goes smoothly now. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

BeverlyZimek · 03/01/2019 10:36

As uncomfortable as this can be, I’m going to miss this feeling I think. They were so active last night and normally I’d complain but I couldn’t help to be sad knowing I won’t be feeling this in a week!

Telescopic678 · 03/01/2019 10:46

I can relate to this! Due 11th March but feel like this pregnancy is going on forever! Bored of feeling tired, having an achey pelvis, feeling sick. I'm bored of pregnancy being the only thing people talk to me about!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 03/01/2019 11:14

@Telescopic678 oooo we’ll have to see who goes in to labour first I’m due the 12th😉 I know what you mean, I avoid mentioning it but when they clock your bump they can’t help but mention it!

I get serious envy over those who are having their baby before me😂 I wish you all, all the best!

After mentioning the Lion bar cereal the other day, I went to do my food shop in Aldi this morning and they had it!!! I got so excited😂

On way to the hospital to be assessed as baby hasn’t moved much at all today despite fizzy drinks and coffee etc :( really hope she’s okay!

BeverlyZimek · 04/01/2019 13:32

Oh no, hope everything is okay!

IrishAceyMac13 · 04/01/2019 14:46

Phew, she’s just being a wee rascal! She started kicking away when I was hooked up to the monitor! On the way home now! Could cry with happiness i’m so relieved!

BeverlyZimek · 04/01/2019 14:57

Thank god, so glad everything is fine.

BeverlyZimek · 04/01/2019 14:58

Bless you, I can imagine how scary that was.

IrishAceyMac13 · 04/01/2019 15:41

Thank you so much, feel like I’m on cloud 9 now just knowing she’s okay 😁

Firsttimetobe2019 · 04/01/2019 15:48

@IrishAceyMac13 - I’m currently sitting in the hospital strapped up to a monitor for the exact same reason! She’s now wriggling away! I tried everything at home - sugary drinks, birthing ball, shower. She was having none of it and about 5 minutes after being strapped up she decided to roll away from the monitor just to make my heart drop because obviously it sounded like her heartbeat dropped! I sat here for ages wanting to cry until she moved properly!
So relieved.
When I called day care because I couldn’t get hold of either of the midwives as they’ve both decided to take leave without telling me or telling me who to call if I needed anything! I was informed I have Strep B? Any ideas? I’ve been told i’ve got to have a drip during labour and baby will need monitoring for 12-24 hours after she’s arrived but that’s about it!

Glad everything’s ok for you aswell!

Veuve1985 · 04/01/2019 16:12

Glad everything is ok!!! Oh nooo @firsttimetobe2019!! That sounds awful!!! To be honest I kinda worry about movement, as she’s all over the place really! The only guarantee is in the evening when she kicks away a lot!! So I worry if there’s a problem...I won’t know as I don’t really keep up to date with movement at work- I’m more focused on work! It’s only in the evening!! Oh gosh strep b? I have no idea what that is? I have my midwifes number, but apart from that we just have a number for the labour ward to call if there’s a problem!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 04/01/2019 16:34

@Veuve1985 my midwives say to me call us before you call daycare etc so I go to do so and none of them are avaliable! I got told on the phone by daycare “did you know you have strep b?” After i’d given her all my details etc where I replied erm no wtf is that! I get told to come in ASAP. And i’ve since been discharged and told everything’s fine but when I got my notes back she check results to see if it was strep b and to give me a leaflet and she went “who told you that you had strep b because there’s nothing here” like wtf?! Why give me the extra stress and panic on top of that!? I have to call back Monday as they’re going to investigate for me

Veuve1985 · 04/01/2019 16:48

@firsttimetobe2019 that’s odd!! Where are you based? At least you and baby are ok xxx

Firsttimetobe2019 · 04/01/2019 17:29

@Veuve1985 Margate QEQM! I’m over the moon but stressing now as I don’t have a clue what’s going on

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 04/01/2019 18:04

@firstimetobe2019 ah! Im in Coventry! Yes totally understand! Im sure if there had been something with bloods etc wouldn’t your midwife have said? Are they giving you a midwife while yours are away? Try not to panic! Main thing is you and baby are well x

Firsttimetobe2019 · 04/01/2019 18:19

@Veuve1985 nope, I haven’t been given an alternative midwife or anything! And I haven’t been told who to contact if I have any worries or anything! One of the midwives is away until further notice and the other is until the 18th! X

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 04/01/2019 18:24

@firsttimetobe2019 that’s awful!!! Your doctors must have someone fulfilling the role while they are away! I would say phone the labour ward if you have any problems!!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 04/01/2019 18:41

@Vueve1985 they do however, when I called the doctors before day care to see who it was she said she didn’t know!!

@firsttimetobe2019 - I’m so relieved that your baby is okay too! God I was the same as you, coffee, can of coke, laying on my side, ice water, nothing would get her to budge and she’s usually so active! Then the midwife was trying to put the monitor on and she started kicking it off, wee rascal!
That’s so confusing about the strep B, I don’t know much about it but I’m sure I read something about as long as they are aware you have it and give you the drip then it’s not a problem. I hope you get that revolved soon though, it sounds so confusing and scary for you! As if you need that added stress after the reduced movements!
My midwife is part of the community midwives so she told me just to ring the drs and leave a message If I need her. The only problem with that is she is only based there one day a week, I don’t have a number for her or anything!
I’m really glad your baby is okay though! X
