I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

@firsttimetobe2019 - I’m sure I read somewhere that the itchiness is caused by your skin stretching? Have you tried cocoa butter? That’s meant to be amazing!

IrishAceyMac13 · 09/01/2019 10:36

And can I just say bras & pregnancy = torture from the devil himself 😂 I can’t find one that fits comfortably and my boobs feel like they are going to fall off when I take a bra off 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Firsttimetobe2019 · 09/01/2019 13:24

@IrishAceyMac13 - I have got some but have no idea where i’ve put it at the minute! 😂 i’ve been living either braless, in bralettes or rarely wearing the normal bra as they kill me😫 I’ve seen they’re doing maternity bras in Primark now! Haven’t checked my local one yet though!
God I had the worst night last night, I couldn’t sleep as baby was making my ribs burn and I was so dizzy! I got up for a wee and was like I’d had a heavy night in town😫 Had to be up early with my 1 year old niece this morning and she won’t sleep so I’m knackered but not dizzy 😂

OP posts:
IrishAceyMac13 · 09/01/2019 13:59

@firsttimetobe2019 Haha that sounds like me, I put things away then never remember where I’ve put them 😂 bralettes are the best I’ve found, but they are still uncomfortable 😂 normal bras are evil at the moment, I feel your pain 😩 I legit get to work and count down the hours until I can take the damn things off 😂
Oh no bless you, that sounds awful! I’m glad you’re not dizzy now! I had a pretty much non existent sleep too, was awake with heartburn then wide awake from 12-4 and had to be up at 6 for work 😂 pregnancy insomnia at its finest 😂
Feels like my wee lady is trying to escape at the moment 😂

IrishAceyMac13 · 09/01/2019 14:00

Primark you say, well it’s got to be worth a shot! I didn’t even know they did maternity wear 😂

Firsttimetobe2019 · 09/01/2019 14:33

Yeah I was quite surprised to hear they had maternity bras I’m unsure if they have any clothing though! Would be good if they did maternity wear as some stuff is so expensive! Honestly I wore a normal bra to the cinema the other day and ended up undoing it 😂 I hate wearing bralettes as I know they give no support!

Hi ladies, I'm in hospital being monitored for preterm contractions but at least no sign of early labour. Only 30+5. 😞 Got a course of steroids and drugs to slow down contractions.

Another convert to bralets- got a twin pack in Matalan for £6. Very comfy. I have the Primark ones which are fine - padded and suitable for nursing. I use a back extender as the cups were perfect but back a little tight on occasion.

SoBoredOfWaiting · 09/01/2019 21:24

Hi all! A bit late to the party but there's always one 😊 I am due on 18th March and would love to join the thread! I am expecting a very active little boy.

@HidCat hope they manage to stop the contractions. It must be so scary.
@Firsttimetobe2019 I am so with you with bras, I am currently using bralets but I find even them uncomfortable. First thing I do when I get home is take them off lol! I found some good ones in sainsburys TU.
@IrishAceyMac13 the scan pics look amazing! So clear, bless her!
@BeverlyZimek congratulations on your two little girls! Hope you are all doing well.

Hello to everyone else!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 09/01/2019 22:03

@SoBoredOfWaiting - Hiya! Congratulations on your pregnancy! There’s quite a few of us quite close together! I’d love to keep the thread going so we know who goes over due / early! (fingers crossed no ones goes over due, and no ones bubbas make a visit too early!) I give up with Bras, I’m tired of having to really try to be comfortable in my own skin😂 I’m just gonna give up and let the puppies free😂

@HidCat I hope everything goes well and they manage to sort everything I can’t imagine what you’re feeling right now!

I’ve got a very tight uncomfortable bump today; bending over and bending down especially when i’ve been running around after a 1 year old all day has been killer. It’s at the point where I’m refusing to bend or pick up anything i’ve dropped it’s like a pain/ache goes all the way through my belly! I’m assuming it’s normal as I’ve noticed I look a bit bigger today but still feel small for being 31 weeks!
Not 100% if experiencing braxton hicks as we speak as i’m sat in bed and bump keeps going rather tight and uncomfortable for under a minute, back to normal ish and then doing it again a few minutes later. This pregnancy melarcky is so confusing!

Morning!
I’m working from home today as I’m in so much pain with sciatica! I also have horrendous rib pain, I think my wee princess has her head right next to or underneath my ribs!

Hidcat - I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital Sad I really hope everything is okay! I can only imagine how terrified you must be! I’m thinking of you Flowers
Ooo I didn’t know Matalan did bralets, I shall have a look there! The Sainsburys tu one is the most comfortable I have found so far!

Soboredofwaiting - hiya and congratulations on your beautiful wee boy! Oooh snap, I see you mentioned Sainsburys tu ones as well!
Thank you, it’s amazing how big she is and I’m so in love with all her features! You are due a week before me Smile

@firsttimetobe2019 - I hope you aren’t feeling so uncomfortable this morning! I’ve yet to experience braxton hicks, so unfortunately have no idea whether that is what you are experiencing or not! I have days where I get random sharp pains for a few seconds, especially when bending over or going to sit down, it’s definitely so confusing! Your bump is lovely!

Here I am at 29 weeks and feeling huge! Excuse the mess, I for some reason decided to refurbish and recarpet my whole house 11 weeks before having a baby 🤷🏻‍♀️
My Moses basket sheets have arrived so I will get that put up at the weekend Grin

I’m laughing so hard, my 5 brothers have come up with a rota, starting from February as to who will be with me at all times haha! Bless them it’s so sweet! I’m craving bacon so bad, might have to waddle to the kitchen!

Due in March and so bored.

Beherenow32 · 10/01/2019 12:28

You bumps look bigger than mine. I’m jealous! 🙈
@IrishAceyMac13 that will be so lovely to have the Moses basket set up. I can’t wait to have everything in its place. Hope working from home helps your pain.

@Firsttimetobe2019 sounds like your baby is having a growth spurt. Do you have a bath? I find that helps when I’m sore.

Also got a new pregnancy pillow which helped me a lot last night. Still got back pain but it wasn’t as intense.

Take care.

Hi to new joiners! X

Firsttimetobe2019 · 10/01/2019 15:33

@IrishAceyMac13 - oh no hope your not suffering too much! These baby’s are having it out for us😂 Feeling much better today but felt really unwell and rubbish this morning, probably over tired but best get used to it as I’ll soon have my own kid to be running around after😂 no more pain when bending but deffinatley cannot breathe when bending 😂
Your bumps lush much bigger than mine! It’s so exciting when even the small things turn up! And Awh bless your brothers! Are they all local to you! Most my family’s an hours drive away but my dad and his partner are local but in jobs that are difficult to leave last minute, so if anything’s to happen and my partners not around and they arent avaliable I think I’ll panic😂

@Beherenow32 I reckon so! Very active last night but today she’s a bit quiet but still active! I’m more hungry aswell😂

OP posts:
Beherenow32 · 10/01/2019 17:41

@HidCat how are you doing? Hope everything’s ok. Must be scary to be in that situation but good that you’re in hospital for them to monitor xx

IrishAceyMac13 · 10/01/2019 18:29

Firsttimetobe2019 - still in pain with my sciatica, but managed to get little lady to move, so at least my rib pain has gone 😂 aye they really are aren’t they, cheeky wee girls we have 😂
Oh bless you, sorry to hear you felt so unwell this morning! I’m glad you’re not in pain any more though! Aye I’m with you on the breathlessness, especially when bending! Aye we need to get used to being permanently tired 😂 I’ve had a week of pregnancy insomnia so suddenly the lack of sleep doesn’t seem so scary 😂
2 are local and the other 3 live a couple hours away, I was laughing so much when they showed me the Rota, it’s like a military operation 😂 bless them they do take care of me 😂 ah bless you, I’m sure that won’t happen, positive thinking 😁
I’m attempting to assemble the Moses basket stand, I couldn’t work out why it wasn’t joining together until I realised part of it was on backwards 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

@beherenow - I’m so excited to have everything set up, still got a few things left to buy but im getting there! I’m glad the pregnancy pillow has helped somewhat with your pain :)

Firsttimetobe2019 · 10/01/2019 21:00

@IrishAceyMac13 oh bless your heart! Least you’ve been in the comfort of your own home!
Are you the only girl in your family? My brother bless him he’s only 17 but he’s been so protective and nice to me since he’s realised i’m Actually having a baby😂 we used to have one of those bantery “I hate you” relationships but he’s been so honest and open, apologised for all the bad things he ever did to me all sorts bless!
I was gifted a Moses basket, washed all the covers because I want everything to smell the same - weird I know😂 and I couldn’t figure out the hood for the life of me! It is a Clare de Lune one I believe and my god it took me and my partner 2 days to figure it out 😂

I’ve got a question about stretch marks!? I had a little bit of flubber before but was still only a size 10/12 but I have stretch marks on the back of my hips only little, and the worst stretch marks on my boobs that look like i’ve had a dodgey boob job 😂 but none on my stomach, my stomachs grown loads - have I got lucky is my question or do they usually kick in in the final final stage when you just go pop?! I’m fine with the ones on my boobs as they can be hidden and hips!

@Firsttimetobe2019 that sounds exactly like Braxton Hicks. They're not supposed to be painful at this point so keep an eye on them and call your midwife if they're stopping you in your tracks, this is exactly what they're monitoring me for as mine were constant but it sounds like yours have eased off so I don't want to worry you. It's a minefield at this point! Bed is uncomfortable atm so sitting in a room with 4 midwives taking advantage of a lull in the nights proceedings lol. I'm sure they'll jump on me if I need help!

With regards to stretch marks it's different for everyone but they may kick in late and they can apparently appear post partum too...

@Beherenow32 I'm ok, things have calmed down and doc is very happy with baby (good fluid, blood flow and growth so she's fine), and the drugs are working thus far. I'm in a room with 3 women min induction process so feel a bit bad that I'm having these tightenings and they're desperate for them!

Had a cheeky nurse comment that I'm big for 30 weeks! Surrounded by women at full term too....

Firsttimetobe2019 · 11/01/2019 08:24

@HidCat at least you’re where you need to be! I hope everything’s ok for you and little one!
I’m hoping I’ve got lucky 😬

If this is first baby, I am assuming you are still at work with over 10 weeks to go. If so I would see if there is any overtime around as extra money will be really handy once baby is here. If you aren't working then getting a temp job is pretty easy and a good idea . There is nothing like tiring yourself out to make you sleep well.

If you just hang around at home for the next ten weeks wishing the time away - it's going to drag very very slowly.

IrishAceyMac13 · 11/01/2019 11:06

@firsttimetobe2019 - managed to get little lady to shift so that’s eased my sciatica a wee bit today! Been at work 3 hours and already want to take this bra off 😂 aye I’m the only girl and the youngest Grin the weird thing is, all my brothers bar one have kids and they all had boys, so I seem to have broken the mould haha 😂 aww your brother sounds adorable being all protective of you and apologising, bless his wee heart! My bro’s and I have always been inseparable, we never fought or anything which was strange! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m closest with the youngest of my bro’s as he’s just over a year older than me, so we’ve always been best friends more than brother and sister!
Ooo the Claire de lune Moses baskets are gorgeous! I was looking at them, but they couldn’t deliver until early March and that was cutting it faaaaarrrr too fine for me haha. Mine is a cuggi one I think, I’ll try and disassemble the stand later as I’ve made a right mess of it 😂 haha that’s not weird at all, I’ve been doing the same as I want all her things to smell the same so they are familiar to her! 😁
Ooo it looks like you’re getting lucky with the stretch marks! I have them on my stomach but they aren’t that bad! Mine will probably get worse as I get bigger, I’m sure I can’t stretch much more 😂

Hidcat - I’m glad all is well with you and wee one!

Is it lunch time yet? Can’t stop eating today 😂little lady had a wild night last night and is pretty quiet this morning, worn herself out bless her 😂

HidCat · 11/01/2019 20:53

Thanks for the kind thoughts ladies, I'm back at home. Strict instructions to go back at the first sign of any reduced movements or painful BH but seeing the consultant every two weeks from now on as well so definitely being well looked after.

IrishAceyMac13 · 12/01/2019 12:26

Hidcat - that’s fantastic news that you are home and that you will be well looked after going forward! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and you don’t have any more scares Flowers

Firsttimetobe2019 · 12/01/2019 19:18

Sorry girls been a manic last few days! Been moving his uncle out! YAY! 😬 But on the downside i’ve spent this time scrubbing away at 11 years worth of smoke build up and haven’t even got a Thankyou the absolute prick🙄 sorry for my language! Had little lady keep telling me to stop with vicious rolls and kicks😂 finally just sat down but I think I’m due a shower I feel like a stink🤢
Hope everyone’s doing well! @HidCat take it easy! At least they’ve slowed everything!

OP posts:
IrishAceyMac13 · 12/01/2019 20:04

@firstimetobe2019 - yay! Has he finally left?! No need to apologise for your language, sometimes swearing is the only thing that will do Grin bless your wee lady telling you to stop 😂

I’m sure my wee one is trying to break out with the strength of some of these kicks 😂 I’ve put the cot and Moses basket up all by myself, I don’t need a man 😂💁🏻‍♀️
Just been putting my wee baby girls clothes away, and realise I have no trousers in 0-3 whatsoever 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
Will have to waddle round town tomorrow and get some!

Hope everyone is well! I’m banjaxed so going to get into bed and watch a movie Grin

Beherenow32 · 12/01/2019 20:12

@Firsttimetobe2019 good that he has moved out and now you can properly get nesting!!

@IrishAceyMac13 lovely getting the Moses basket up. I can’t wait to start putting things in place, but I’m way off being ready for that. I just mainly have little bodysuits for baby. Actually only have one outfit that is a top and trousers. Enjoy shopping whatever you pick up

Baby feels so so heavy today, and as though she is taking up all of my middle. Xx

HidCat · 13/01/2019 09:35

@Firsttimetobe2019 that's great news, hopefully the brunt of it is done and you can rest a bit today.

I'm paranoid now so nesting is properly on the agenda, just in case! Hubby doing most of the work so I don't overdo it and having a good think about my mat leave as working to my due date may not be the best option, will talk it over with the consultant next week...
