I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

@firsttimetobe2019 isn’t it!!! I literally LOVE it! It’s pricey...but my parents said this was their gift, and theY would prefer to get the one we would really like! Yeah it’s at John Lewis too and kiddie kingdom

Veuve1985 · 31/12/2018 17:00

@firsttimetobe2019...you’re due literally the week before me!! How are you sleeping? I’m suddenly finding it harder to get to sleep!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 31/12/2018 17:21

@Veuve1985 I can imagine quite a few places that have them will do them on a sale! Keep an eye out! If I see anywhere I’ll attach a link to the thread for you!
Oh really!?
I’ve always had a messed up sleeping pattern due to my partners hours regularly changing, but i’ll be tired at around 7pm fight through it as I don’t need to be up silly hours of the morning and then i’m wide awake from 10 till around 1am sometimes! It’s killer and it’s really bad that I find sleeping on my back comfier than my sides - I’ve been getting a lot of pain in my hips and the back of my ribs when it comes to sleeping but I won’t let myself sleep on my back!

Veuve1985 · 31/12/2018 18:31

@firsttimetobe2019 yes that would be fab! Or pm me! I’m usually a good sleeper- 10-5.30 as that’s when I get up for work but finding it hard to get tired earlier- going to sleep around 1/2 and then lying in til the cat wants his breakfast at around 7.30/8, but as from day after tomorrow I’m back at work :/ definately ready for mat leave!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 31/12/2018 18:56

@Veuve1985 yeah I will do hun!
my employer sacked me shortly after I told him I was pregnant so i’ve been out of work since about 20 weeks but been doing babysitting for people! So I’ve been having ridiculously long lie ins because I haven’t had to get up and because I’ve stayed up so late! It’s exhausting I find myself wanting a nap by around 2/3pm!

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 31/12/2018 19:10

@firsttimetobe2019 that’s awful!!!! My mat leave isn’t the best, but it’s something! Since I’ve been off for Xmas I’ve napped so much!!!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 31/12/2018 19:25

@veuve1985 i’ve tried to avoid napping because I know if I fall back into that habit i’m never going to kick it again😂 Day by day I feel like I’m ballooning, and I’m really wondering how on Earth I have a child inside me as there is not a lot of room at all and I think baby’s realising that too because she’s all in my ribs! Feels like she could break them sometimes it’s horrible

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 31/12/2018 19:35

@firsttimetobe2019 I know!! Such a bad habit!!! Oh god I know how you feel!!! I feel like a bloody whale!! I don’t know how I can get bigger without popping!! Thankfully Tabitha is more into kicking my bladder than ribs!!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 31/12/2018 20:08

@Veuve1985 honestly my bladder becomes a bouncy castle of a night, i’m up a minimum of twice a night! It’s a night mare! I feel like I’m big for gestation but I know it’s only going to get bigger😂 I love my bump though! I think I’ll be upset to see it go but over the moon to have Bonnie😍

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 31/12/2018 20:14

@firsttetobe2019 yup! I pee for England!! Ohhh I won’t miss the bump! But il probably miss it when it’s just saggy flab!! 😩

Firsttimetobe2019 · 01/01/2019 11:40

@Veuve1985 people say it’s so hard to shift the weight again but I’m more concerned about finding the time to be able to do it!

OP posts:
Veuve1985 · 01/01/2019 12:03

@firsttimetobe2019 I’m just worried about shifting it!!! And having the time, like you said!! Can’t go to the gym with a baby (not that I went to the gym much before!!! 😂)

Firsttimetobe2019 · 01/01/2019 13:04

@veuve1985 the gym has never been a place I’ve liked😂

Veuve1985 · 01/01/2019 13:09

@firsttimetobe2019 me neither 😂

newyearnamechange · 01/01/2019 13:35

@Firsttimetobe2019 you sound so organised though so that's the positive I guess!
I'm due in March, I also have 2 children and a spinal cord injury so a lot going on but I'm still
Working at the moment and haven't had chance to do anything. I've ordered the pram and the cot (only yesterday). We have some clothes but they aren't washed and everything else will just have to wait for now. We've had a very complicated pregnancy though and I need to get my arse in gear.

Make the most of your rest and enjoy the boredom, have you had legal advice over work? Or spoken to acas? It's illegal to sack you for telling them you are pregnant

Firsttimetobe2019 · 01/01/2019 22:58

@newyearnamechange i guess i can blame my dad for making me a "perfect prepper" and i blame myself for just sheer excitement.
This is my first and i just want to make sure i don't forget anything or do anything wrong!
I'm sorry to hear about your back and complications, i hope your not suffering too much and that you recover quickly - i can imagine carrying a little bean and running around after 2 children there isn't a lot of recovering you can do!
I believe ive just got minor bits to get such as; bath lotions, bedding, maternity bag bits such as pads etc and that i believe is about all...
I am back at babysitting again so I'm hoping that helps pass the time quickly!

I hated the job to be honest so I'm really not that fussed, i was paid less because i was new even though i was told it would go up after a month and it didn't and i was given the heaviest work load! I couldn't be asked to sit there and go through it all. Obviously its an inconvenience due to just finding out your expecting, but I've made it!

Anyone here had to have a CST before, I have one tomorrow?

Firsttimetobe2019 · 02/01/2019 19:46

Gosh just had a proper emotional melt down!
I’ve been busy all day, babysitting shopping etc - I’ve felt movement today but not a lot, probably because I’ve been too busy chasing a one year old. I’ve just had a shower, put me Jim jams on and decided I’ll have a lay down and a focus on her. I got talking, told her I loved her, got movement straight away that I could see more than feel? But I cried... like a baby😂 lucky no ones in they’d think I’m crazy especially when I’d have to explain why😂 anyone else had moments like that

Heya - hope it’s okay to join! I’m due 26th March with my first, a beautiful wee girl! I’m 28+1 and it seems to be going so slow! At least I can say my due date is this year though 😂
I have terrible sciatica and back to work tomorrow. Only half a day though as I have a midwife appointment at 11.15 :)

Firsttimetobe2019 · 02/01/2019 20:36

@IrishAceyMac13 of course it is! Oh gosh, I know it’s dragging! I keep thinking that, this year i’m going to have a baby and I love the idea of that! Oh bless you i’m not sure if i’ve got any ongoing issues but I start the day ok and I was probably walking around Westwood Cross for around 2 hours and my hips are in agony and nearly popped when I got in the car! Will have to mention it to my midwife next time I see her!

OP posts:
IrishAceyMac13 · 02/01/2019 20:41

@firsttimetobe2019 - thank you Grin it really is dragging isn’t it! I’m so happy we can say this year now, feel like I’ve been pregnant forever haha. Oooh that sounds painful, mine is definitely worse when I’m walking around! Aye you may as well mention it, it’s always good for them to be aware Grin
I feel like I’m back in the first trimester with this exhaustion, but then I’m up most the night constantly having to pee haha!

Veuve1985 · 02/01/2019 20:52

Yes!! Completely!!! I’m an emotional wreck! From having moments like you when she kicks- to uh bursting into tears in Tesco as my basket was heavy and I felt so tired! 🤷‍♀️🤰🏼🤦‍♀️

Sexnotgender · 02/01/2019 20:55

Oh man I’d have been so bored if I hadn’t worked until 36 weeks!! How have you not gone crazy?

I’m now 37+5 and bored and I only finished about 10 days ago.

IrishAceyMac13 · 02/01/2019 21:11

Veuve - I’m with you on that! I had a complete meltdown crying my eyes out in Tesco because they’d sold out of those flying saucer sweets, the poor geeza stacking shelves didn’t know what to do with himself! 😂

Firsttimetobe2019 · 02/01/2019 22:33

Do you remember the Lion Bar cereal?! I was craving hard and could have sworn Asda sold them still or a Knick off version and I put my shopping down and left in a tantrum😂
@sexnotgender honestly losing the will to live!
