Anyone due or over due who needs a thread to see them through the next couple of weeks?
I'm 39 weeks today, 3rd child.

No signs really, lots of pressure when I was walking round Tesco this morning but that's about it.

Due date 24th but I predict that I will go into labour on Boxing Day and he will come on 27th.

Congratulations to all you new mothers!
I was due 31st December and am now 40+4 :/ funny thing was my partner and I was convinced she would come early ha! how wrong we were. Have sweeps and induction booked for next week but just hoping she comes this weekend and I won't need them.

SadCupcake · 04/01/2019 16:19

@89LP I'm 40+3 and had a sweep today. Praying this works or I'll have induction start on the 9th if there's a place free. Hope you're feeling okay! Thanks

@SadCupcake if you don't mind me asking, how did you find the sweep? Generally it seems they're painful but I got mixed feedback from friends. I hope the sweep works for you! Finger crossed. Smile

@89LP I mean let's say it's not the most comfortable feeling but it's not that bad when all you can think is 'I'm about to push a baby out of here, this is a walk in the park!' 😂

Midwife who did it was so gentle with me which I think really helped calmed me down. I was 1cm and not fully effaced, but she stretched me out to 2cm and removed the mucus plug; I've had my show and cramping. My hips and lower back really ache now, so I'm hoping something really kicks off now!

Thank you lovely! I'll keep you guys updated x

Don35 · 04/01/2019 21:26

89LP that sounds really promising! I bet you start in the next couple of days.

I'm 38 weeks and I've been predicted that this baby is going to be over 10lb, so I'm hoping he doesn't stay in there any longer because I'm so fed up now and uncomfortable. I wish they could tell us the exact date we will go into labour!

89LP · 04/01/2019 23:11

@SadCupcake haha that is very true.
I hope the midwife I have is gentle too, i am sure it makes a real difference. Eek! It sounds like the sweep may have worked then, hopefully it all kickstarts soon. Do keep us updated Grin

I have been having some terrible lower pelvis pains, sharp agonising pains. At this stage, every twinge you think, this could be it?! She has been moving around tonight as if she is trying to fight her way out.

@Don35 ahh I hope so! So your full term now, so you never know he could come any day now! I know, i said this today to my friend, It's the not knowing which causes so much frustration.

ooh currently getting pains again, everything feels really tight in pelvis area and getting super tight braxton hicks, like my belly is about to explode.

I’m 38+1, 1-2 cms dialated and cervix is ready, but his head isn’t engaged yet. I am starting to get some of the mucus plug coming away and I have had loads of ‘practice’ contractions.
Got another check on Friday and an induction booked for the following Monday so fingers crossed I can get him engaged for that.
Really don’t want to go into labour before this Monday as I want at least one of the parents to be around (I’m a surrogate and we live a long distance apart)
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
