Anyone due or over due who needs a thread to see them through the next couple of weeks?
I'm 39 weeks today, 3rd child.

No signs really, lots of pressure when I was walking round Tesco this morning but that's about it.

Due date 24th but I predict that I will go into labour on Boxing Day and he will come on 27th.

@FoxgloveStar oh no don't say that, I'm pinning my hopes on the sweep working. I really don't want to go too far overdue as have pelvic girdle pain and am sick of shuffling about in pain.

I hope you give birth soon!

dancingbee · 17/12/2018 18:43

I'm 37+3 so still time yet but I've been getting on and off period pains for a couple of days. Also pretty sure baby has engaged as I feel like I've been kicked between the legs! Struggling to walk a lot so feeling really over being pregnant. Guess I have a while longer to put up with it though as it's my first and although I'm fed up I am hoping baby doesn't come on Christmas Day. As soon as Boxing Day is here I will be doing everything I can think of to get baby out!

Pinklily1 · 17/12/2018 18:45

Hi truck, this will be baby number 2. I was induced at a week overdue with my DD, so I’m half expecting to go overdue with this one as well! I don’t mind when baby arrives, I just don’t want to be in hospital on Christmas Day and away from my daughter!

Pinklily1 · 17/12/2018 18:47

Also, don’t lie down truck! Get yourself moving!!

I’ve had period type pains but nothing else. Having a sweep on Wednesday at 39+1 so I’m hoping that will do something!

Pinklily1 · 17/12/2018 18:49

Fox, have they said at what point they will induce you?

Fingers crossed all of these babies get
Moving soon (but hat they let us eat our turkey at home, not in hospital!)

AnxiousMama101 · 17/12/2018 18:53

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow, due 1st Jan for first baby.
No idea what to expect when it comes to pressure or contractions.. I want him to come this week but have a feeling I’m going to be waiting a while!
Wishing you all the best ladies!

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 17/12/2018 19:16

I have been moving loads today, certainly a lot less laying down that I would like Grin

Midwife tomorrow but that will be pointless really. I just want to ask her about having a sweep on Boxing Day.

FoxgloveStar · 17/12/2018 19:23

Thanks. I see the consultant at the hospital tomorrow and also midwife on Wednesday so I should know more soon. I’ll take another sweep and hopefully have some good news about having made some sort of progress in the last week. I suspect they’ll want to book my induction but I don’t know the hospital’s policy. 27th would be 2 weeks over.

Patience isn’t a virtue of mine at the best of times!

FoxgloveStar · 17/12/2018 19:25

@Santababy I hear you! I have to hold on to the wall between bed and bathroom to get to the toilet at the moment. I went for a big walk a few days ago and since then have been getting stabbing pains all down my thighs whenever I try to move.

PeachMelba78 · 17/12/2018 19:29

35 + 3 today, growth scan on Thursday and a ‘discussion’ after. He was measuring 90th percentile a couple of weeks ago, and I have had loads of Braxton Hicks and also period type pains which I didn’t get with my son (this one isn’t mine).
Hoping to get to 38 weeks and then induced!

PeachMelba78 · 17/12/2018 19:30

Foxglove poor you! Hope things happen soon

MagicalCreatures · 17/12/2018 20:55

@PocketFullofMumbles Snap!!! I’m due the 28th too. My sisters birthday.
My dads 60th is Christmas Eve and I’m desperately trying to avoid this poor bubba having a Christmas Day birthday.
But I have a sneaky suspicion that is exactly when he’s going to show his face 😩
I’ve been walking and bouncing on my ball trying to kick start things so he is here before Christmas and apart from Braxton Hicks and a few stabs in my cervix, Nada!!!!!
Now I’m worried I may kick start things and he does arrive just a few days early on Christmas Day.
Oh I wish we could see the future 😂

Bellesboy1218 · 17/12/2018 22:13

Evening all. Went into town today to do some shopping and did plenty of walking. Not sure if I'm struggling with the walking because of the large bump or something else. Hips are very achy.

I have a midwife appt tomo and I'm going to request a sweep. Have no date for induction currently so need to work out what is going on for the next week or so.

Did anyone conceive via ivf or fertility treatment? Found a thread saying you shouldn't go over 40weeks?

PeachMelba78 · 17/12/2018 22:19

Belles I am IVF and no one has said that I can’t go over 40 weeks (but I don’t want to!)
Maybe it depends where you live but surely it shouldn’t make any difference?

LittleScottieDog · 17/12/2018 22:46

I'm 28th too! 38+3 today, been having period-type cramps for the last day or two, possibly lost my mucous plug but it wasn't bloody and apparently it can grow back! Every little twinge I'm wondering if it's time but I'm sure it'll be next week some time.

MagicalCreatures · 17/12/2018 23:32

@LittleScottieDog ahhh another 28th. Hi!
When did you lose your mucus plug. All the stories I hear about that end up with people going into labour within 48 hours of losing it. You’ll have to let us know. X

Bellesboy1218 · 17/12/2018 23:43

@PeachMelba78 just a thread I came across and then I googled some more 🙈 I have never been told this by a healthcare professional.

FoxgloveStar · 18/12/2018 07:58

Do check with your HCP about IVF and going overdue. I can’t imagine why it would make any difference. Maybe IVF is being confused with older mothers?

FoxgloveStar · 18/12/2018 08:00

I was so hyped when my plug came out on 13th. Cleaned the house, got an early night, double checked my bags.... then nada. Apparently while lots of people do indeed go into labour in the day or so after plug came out (was true for me for DC1), it can also take weeks and so isn’t necessarily a good sign of impending labour.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 18/12/2018 09:16

I've got the MW this morning, I'm hoping she can shed some light on my situation.

My obstetrician went from "we'll induce you at 39 weeks" to "this baby isn't ready, call me when you're 4 days overdue".

I feel a bit abandoned now and worried about going into labour naturally and the baby not having the care he needs (very fast labours, baby with a heart condition).

This will be the last time I see my midwife, so I'm hoping she can help me!

I'm also hoping she will donny bishops score because if it's improved from last time I have a good arguement as to getting induced before I go into labour naturally....

Bitchfromhell · 18/12/2018 11:07

Good luck today op. Hopefully your midwife will get on your side.
I must admit I too feel a little bit abandoned by our obstetrician. I think they forget that changing our plans is a bit of a head fuck this late in the game. Especially when we are having babies with potential problems.
My midwife last week said to ask the obstetrician if she could give me a sweep at 38 weeks. She said I could go into the local mlu and see her on her day there between Christmas and New Year. Maybe you could chat with yours today about a similar plan?

Wanttomakemincepies · 18/12/2018 11:16

Currently 41+1. Had sweep yesterday and started with contractions. Midwife left my house at half 2 this morning as only 3cm. She did say cervix was only 1cm long and could feel head. I had a nap and have only had a couple of contractions today. Due to go for growth scan tomorrow. I want a home birth. Would love to go for a long walk but on crutches for PGP. I have pressure when standing up. I know I need to try and chill out a bit but finding it hard and frustrating. DS1 was born at 41 weeks and it just happened.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 18/12/2018 11:57

Just back from the MW and feel so much better about things.

She did a sweep and the cervix, baby's position and everything is much more favourable than it was on Friday which doesn't surprise me because I've been having presssure and pains.

She also booked me in to be seen at the DAU at midday on Thursday with mind to book an induction. So that makes me feel a lot better and a lot more in control.

I think my waters might have gone??

Got to call back triage again in 2 hours.

38+6 with my first, due Boxing Day. Absolutely no signs of anything happening yet 😩 Been desperate to get her out, thoug if it’s not in the next two days I’d rather she just stay in until the new year. Considering I’m not even at my due date yet I can’t believe how fed up I am!
