Anyone due or over due who needs a thread to see them through the next couple of weeks?
I'm 39 weeks today, 3rd child.

No signs really, lots of pressure when I was walking round Tesco this morning but that's about it.

Due date 24th but I predict that I will go into labour on Boxing Day and he will come on 27th.

Can I join? I’m 37+2 and due on the 6th. Had a growth scan today as my bump is measuring small but all looks good and current weight is 6lb 6oz.
I’m desperate for this baby to stay in as long as possible so I can enjoy Christmas with DS1 and get babies birthday as far away from Christmas Day as possible!

Bitchfromhell · 18/12/2018 13:00

Yay truck good for you, get yourself to the hospital Xmas Grin

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 18/12/2018 14:12

Yes please join, more the merrier.

I'm going to triage at 5pm so they can test whether it was my waters or not.

I'm going to feel very foolish if it wasn't 😂

Fingers crossed Smile I think as the op of this thread it's your duty to deliver first and report back Wink

MagicalCreatures · 18/12/2018 15:15

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter good luck!!!
I hope things start moving for you. How exciting!! Keep us updated.

@PickettBowtruckles hey!! Haven’t seen you around for ages. How’s your pregnancy been going. I can’t believe we’re nearly at the finishing line x x

FoxgloveStar · 18/12/2018 16:55

@truck that sounds really promising! Hope things start for you properly now.

I had a sweep this morning and was already 4cm. They’ve booked my induction for 27th although nobody seems to think I’ll need it....

I had regular contractions from 2-4pm today, got up to every 7mins and now they’ve died back down to every 30mins. I think the sweep kick started things but remains to be seen if it peters out or not. Trying mainly to rest for the trials ahead!

LittleScottieDog · 18/12/2018 17:16

@MagicalCreatures - what I think was my mucous plug was last Wednesday/Thursday and nothing since except period pains. So if it was the plug it didn't mean anything Sad

Every little twinge makes me wonder but nothing yet. The thought it may be another 3 weeks is frustrating!

Good luck, @TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter!

Santababyclaus · 18/12/2018 18:26

@FoxgloveStar you need an evening of oxytocin!

Bellesboy1218 · 18/12/2018 18:34

Hiya, I had a sweep today. She said cervix was posterior but has written in notes it's soft. She was able to get a very small amount of finger in? Was rather uncomfortable tho. Hoping something starts happening soon.

Waiting for a call back with another appt for sweep on Friday and have induction booked for Boxing Day. Was either that or xmas eve induction... a definite no for that date. Hope we don't make it to induction, I'm vigorously bouncing on the ball now 😂

Bitchfromhell · 18/12/2018 20:30

Very regular Brixton hicks tonight. Not painful, just very tight. Every 5 mins. I guess my uterus is practicing...

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 18/12/2018 23:24

Well my contractions have stopped.

MW did another sweep, couldn't break my waters because there was none left or break, I've sent DH home and now I'm just say here contractionless and waiting...

Wanttomakemincepies · 19/12/2018 05:03

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter I feel your frustration. Hospital appointment in 4 1/2 hours for scan and second sweep. No contractions for 24 hours now and now 40+9.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 19/12/2018 06:43

Good luck with your second sweep. You're on the home stretch now, however you look at it. Just keep that in mind!

I'm waiting for ward round and a pessary to kick things off again.

I'm hoping he's here by this afternoon.

I've never given birth during the day or laboured during the day. I'd rather do so during the night when it's dark for some reason.

Good luck today ladies, will keep my fingers crossed for you both Thanks

Wanttomakemincepies · 19/12/2018 07:56

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter good luck to you as well. Labour at night is our primeval safety net as less predators around. However, the hospital may be free from sabre tooth tigers, watch out for the bounty lady.

dancingbee · 19/12/2018 09:34

😂😂😂 @Wanttomakemincepies

Good luck ladies!

baubled · 19/12/2018 10:53

Good luck everyone, I had the same post 2 years ago when DS was due, it goes so fast!

MyPatronusIsAnOrca · 19/12/2018 11:12

May I please join? I’m 41 weeks and had a sweep yesterday, some contractions in the night that tailed off and now nothing!

This is my second so had foolishly got myself into the mindset I wouldn’t be overdue!

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 19/12/2018 14:28

I'm still waaaaaaiting!!

They are sending me to delivery for the syntocin drip.

NOT part of my plan at all, but at least we're moving forward.

OP posts:
FoxgloveStar · 19/12/2018 14:32

@Truck good luck. The drip will certainly start things - no going back now!

I’m also still waiting. Contractions died off to nothing yesterday evening and I slept most of the night. Retrieved toddler from Granny’s and now feeling a bit deflated. Midwife called today to see if I want another sweep later in the week, which I’ve booked for Sunday. She said “I’m sure you won’t need it” but I’m taking everything with a pinch of salt.

kirstywursty012 · 19/12/2018 15:43

I'm 37 weeks exactly today with our first! Getting a bit nervous about labour now. Would rather it just stayed in there and I had a lovely little wiggly belly for the rest of my life! Everytime everyone asks if I'm excited, I'm not convinced I am!

Did anyone else feel like this with their first??

Santababyclaus · 19/12/2018 17:48

@fox oh no that sucks. My sweep is tomorrow.

@truck I had syntocinon with my last delivery. I hope it went OK, my contractions were pretty bad at one point and I may have threatened the midwife of she increased it.....

Pippaonesock · 19/12/2018 19:37

Hi everyone.

38+6 today and totally fed up. Been offered a sweep on Friday. Can't bare the thought of going overdue! These posts of failed sweeps are making me nervous. Trying all the usual spicy food and sex but nothing so far.

Baby feel fully engaged for 2 weeks now - second baby so midwife says could be any day but nothing so far. Feels like they are right between my legs atm!

Santababyclaus · 19/12/2018 19:53

@Pippaonesock mine (second) has been fully engaged since at least 38 weeks (probably 37), it's my due date today 😬

Lynsey19 · 19/12/2018 19:54

Hi everyone! Can I join? I’m due the 6th of January but diagnosed with polyhydramnios & also a big baby. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow that my midwife told me I needed to take my hospital bag to, as she thinks I may get kept in! I think I may end up with a section as there is so much fluid baby is still able to turn and is currently lying transverse. Feeling a bit nervous for what’s to come! X
