@MrsLBear I've taken paracetamol at random times the last week or so due to headaches and shoulder pains. Ended up going to an Osteopath who specialises in pre and post natal care as could feel it was all from tightness in shoulder and neck.

sunshine1987 · 16/01/2019 21:38

@mrslbear I had three x

GemmaJen · 17/01/2019 06:12

@Crossfitgirl it stopped yesterday, hopefully it won't reappear. Don't think I'm exercising for 7 more weeks, lol. I might pop a call through to the midwife, but she'll just ask me to see the GP and she was dismisive of this pregnancy when I went to see her last week, I'm in no rush to go back. If it starts again I think the EPU may see me directly as they have my files from last time. Hopefully though that's it and no more worry. Just want to get through the next 7 weeks, I can't quite believe I will, I have to keep reminding myself that the odds are stronger that I will get to 12w than I won't.

Does anyone remember when they started getting symptoms, the sort you can't ignore? I'm still not getting much, just the odd stomach twinge.

Crossfitgirl · 17/01/2019 07:11

@gemmajen glad it's stopped, your midwife doesn't sound great. mine started between 6 and 7 weeks, notably the nausea. X

MrsLBear · 17/01/2019 08:08

@Crossfitgirl I don't normally take any painkillers very easily so I'm just continuing with that but I'd drunk about 1.5litres of water so it wasn't dehydration and I just wanted to watch some tv after work before bed. I only took 1 though too and it actually did the trick!

Oh that's not bad. I went for a blood test late last year and they took like 4 of them it was horrendous and my blood doesn't come very quick so wasn't an enjoyable experience.

@canonlyhopexo she doesn't sound very good at all. Can't you request someone else. This is the time you need someone on the ball not someone who's half arsed with the job. Haha for sure!!! I mean we are sacrificing our bodies (and MINDS) to go through this that's the least they can do. One of my clients said she had her DH wash her hair in the bath post birth so I said oh I will defo try that one!!

@mrsof20118 my shoulders and back are killing me too!! I really want a massage but I'm going to wait until my scan. Has it worked going to the osteopath?

@GemmaJen can't believe your gp was dismissive! That's their job!! Makes me think when I went to see mine for possible pcos and he asked if I use contraception and I said no and he said you do know that's how babies are made (no shit Sherlock) you should be using something if you don't want a pregnancy. I said I'm married and we are seeing how things go (we weren't actively TTC yet but going with the flow) and he just kept saying it I was like OMG I'm not 15 I understand how babies are made you moron.

I'm 6+1 now and I had a wave of nausea last night but nothing major else yet really. I mean sore boobs and overly sensitive nipples are a given. TMI but even struggled to DTD the other day cos DH was squashing the left one way too much. The pain!!

CookieWaffle · 17/01/2019 08:12

I started getting symptoms week 3, cramps and nausea. I thought the nausea was distracting until week 6 when it went into overdrive. Thought my symptoms were fading but 11 weeks today and the nausea and heaving has come back with a vengeance.

CookieWaffle · 17/01/2019 08:14

@MrsLBear wow I just read the bit about your gp, you shoulda said sorry I don't know how you make babies, please explain.

sunshine1987 · 17/01/2019 09:47

@gemmajen the nausea probably kicked in around 8 weeks but I’ve never really had anything bad, just have to eat often else I feel like I’m going to be sick and start to heave. Only been sick once though. I’m now 11+3. Had an early scan at 8 weeks as was convinced my no symptoms was something bad 🤷🏻‍♀️ so don’t worry if you don’t get any massive symptoms xx

mrsof20118 · 17/01/2019 17:08

@MrsLBear Osteopath has helped. Can't wait for my pregnancy massage next week though.

@cookiewaffle I was the same and had a surge around the same time. I read up and seems to happen when the placenta kicks in.

RanchoRelaxo · 17/01/2019 17:12

Hi guys, sorry I've been absent this past week or so, been so busy with work and stuff I haven't had chance to do much else!

I've had my flu jab today and it wrecked, sat in bed now eating houmous to make me feel better 😂

I am now 14 and a half weeks and the tiredness is finally easing up, still had a bit of a sicky moment this morning but am grateful to feel more awake!

Crossfitgirl · 17/01/2019 17:19

@cookiewaffle @mrsof20118 oh no I'm nearly 11 weeks, I'm bracing myself in case the sickness comes back! I have had a pretty rough day today and had to take 2 paracetamol for a banging headache (@mrsLbear you jinxed me 😂) but I think it's more tiredness causing this, as DH kept me up all night snoring the last 2 nights.

Called the midwife today as been having twinges of mild pain, like ovary pain on the right side. It's gone now so feel like it's nothing, but waiting a call back. Anyone else had any one sided twinges? Cna only describe it like ovulation pains I used to get when ttc.

Also... My MAMA super skinny jeans arrived from H&M today. Oh. My. Days. They are sooo comfy. I'll be getting at least 2 more pairs for sure!!

mrsof20118 · 17/01/2019 18:58

@Crossfitgirl yes to the twinges on and off. Think it's just all the stretching xx

mrsof20118 · 17/01/2019 19:01

@RanchoRelaxo glad to hear the tiredness is easing off. I'm able to get up and even go to the gym some mornings but come 2 in the afternoon I'm trying not to doze off. Told my work colleagues now which makes it a bit easier without having to hide bloat and tiredness

MrsLBear · 17/01/2019 19:07

@Crossfitgirl oh no!! We spoke too soon 😂🙈 oh god repetitive snoring is the absolute worst. Hope you gave him a good kick and a nudge. Even worse when they've had a drink!

Ooooo I've been looking for some jeans cos my jeans are super tight and I don't fancy squeezing into them. My tummy is already a bit rounder and I can't suck it in like I used to for sure. ASOS do nice ones but there's none in my size available which is incredible helpful.
I've had pains on my left side - which I think is the side I ovulated from when I got my BFP - on and off since I found out I think but always worth chatting to your midwife. What they are there for right.

I'm going to my gp tomorrow to ask what I can do about my itchy eye eczema and a whole list of other ailments that are driving me mad some completely unpregnancy related.

Anyone seen the programme on channel 5 tonight about women behind bars. Anyway just read an article where a lady on there is giving birth to her 3rd baby while addicted to heroin which has no led me to watching videos on YouTube about it. Why do I do this to myself. But how horrendously sad is that. And we worry about taking a couple of paracetamol or what face cream we are using and women out there are abusing their bodies and hurting their unborn babies in the process.

MrsLBear · 17/01/2019 19:08

That's my struggle atm @mrsof20118 the tiredness has hit me like a tonne truck and it's so hard to explain to the staff why I feel so drained. Plus my uniform is looking snug and I'm so early (it's quite fitted). Said to DH tonight I'm going to struggle to hide it till our scan. Not that anyone would say oh are you pregnant cos ofcs that's the biggest no no for a woman. If they did I would reply no I just got fat thanks 😂

MrsLBear · 17/01/2019 19:10

Nice to hear from you @RanchoRelaxo! Glad to hear your tiredness is easing up! I've just started to feel it so happy to hear it doesn't go on the whole way through!
Have you had the flu jab before?

Crossfitgirl · 17/01/2019 19:36

Glad you're feeling better with the tiredness @ranchorelaxo, and houmous is sooo good!
@mrsLbear he has a cold so can't be too hard on him lol. Still annoying though! The H&m ones seem to fit me perfectly and are very comfy, I've heard good things about their maternity range and it's really reasonable. I got some "treggings" too but they are a little bit too big so I may go to an actual store to try some more stuff on.
@mrsof20118 thanks thats good to know. It seems to have gone off now. I can't stand this bloating though 😭 nothing seems to help and its so uncomfortable it's awful!
I've tried eating less, but I seem to bloat even when I haven't eaten anything! Specially in the evening!

Such moans today lol. I should just suck it up and be grateful I have a baby on the way xx

RanchoRelaxo · 17/01/2019 19:44

@Crossfitgirl are they full maternity jeans? I think I'm going to buy a few pairs this weekend, and I got (still getting occasionally) twingy pains on both sides
@MrsLBear I have but it was probably about 6 years ago, I have ashma so can have one but if I'm honest I'm not great with needles so I have avoided it most years!

Literally just after I posted about feeling more awake, I fell asleep and have just had a 2 hour nap!! Maybe the tiredness is still here 😂😂

Crossfitgirl · 17/01/2019 19:53

@ranchorelaxo I think we need to be careful about declaring the settling of symptoms on here, it really seems to tempt fate!! Haha 😁
And yes, they are full maternity jeans. My normal size 10, and my tummy is so massive it actually fits the waist high thing for the bump. Not even kidding. I have some maternity tops I got off fb marketplace too... Some of those bloody fit!! I'm 10+4!!
It's so strange, I feel like I have to hide the bloat as it makes me look pregnant... Even though I am actually pregnant, but nowhere near pregnant enough to show yet!!
Not quite sure about over the bump ones yet, I don't like anything at all touching my stomach at the mo. .. That may settle though once the bloating calms down and I get a bump... may see if I can get any under the bump ones to compare.

RanchoRelaxo · 17/01/2019 20:13

@Crossfitgirl ooh lovely I might have to look at them then, I've heard how comfy maternity jeans are too, actually excited to get some, fed up of struggling with waist extenders haha. I know how you feel about the bloat though, mine has calmed down a bit now, although at the end of the day my stomach is definitely still more bloat than bump haha

ChaosMoon · 18/01/2019 07:36

Ugh, the bloat. I do not miss that! At 28 and 5 there are still days when I feel a little bloated, but at least I already have a big bump to hide it behind. And it's nowhere near as bad as it was, so have faith ladies. It'll get better!

Managed to faint at my midwife appointment yesterday, while they were listening to the heart beat. So that was embarrassing... 🤦

EltzBee · 18/01/2019 10:40

Morning ladies, sorry been quiet the past few days. DH coming home tomorrow, phew!

Been a tough week, the nausea and sickness have been constant, waking me up throughout the night as well (thank goodness for an en-suite).

Had a call with the Dr yesterday and they said they'd put a prescription up for me for some anti sickness meds if it doesn't get better.

Ironically today the nausea is still here but I have managed to not be sick which is great. Prescription should be ready to pick up from pharmacy tomorrow I hope, so if it starts getting bad again I will be trying them. She said they've been prescribing them for many years and they're safe in pregnancy.

7+6 today; had my slimming world weigh in this week and was 2.5lbs off. I've not told my consultant the news yet (want to get to 12 weeks first). I don't think I'll keep going after my current pass has finished as it's £5 a week and I can weigh myself at home and save that for things for Bean! Healthy eating has slightly gone out the window the past couple of weeks. It's been 'Can I eat this and will it stay down/not make me feel sick' instead! lol.

Sounds like @crossfitgirl you've found some awesome jeans! I'm looking forward to getting to a bit further on and getting some maternity jeans. My jeans still fit but I hate the tight feeling around my waist where I'm so bloated! I bought some leggings so I think for work it's going to be leggings and loose dresses for the next few weeks.

One of my colleagues annoyed me on Monday as whilst I was on the phone to DH they had the cheek to ask me if I was preg. After a surprised pause that anyone could be so cheeky as to ask I just denied it. Thought people know even if you guessed you do not ask anyone, it's not the done thing!! Ah well.

Has anyone found a bra that is comfy yet? My boobs are really tender and have grown a bit too, so I think I may end up trying to get a new, comfier bra soon. I'm wondering if somewhere like Primark or Sainsburys/Asda might be good for something to see me through a few weeks. Home is a bra-free zone as much as possible lately LOL.

@ChaosMoon oh no at fainting! I hope you were okay? Hope baby's heartbeat was nice and strong - I didn't realise they could hear that during midwife appointments. Do you hear it at scans too? That must be lovely to hear.

ChaosMoon · 18/01/2019 11:07

They start listening for it at about 16 weeks @EltzBee, with the disclaimer that is not always easy to pick up on a Doppler that early. And yes, they listen to it at scans too. It's really cool to hear it - when you stay conscious! DH enjoyed hearing it anyway. 😂 I'm fine. Was just quite spaced out for a lot of the day.

I've got a nursing bra from h&m that's quite comfy. It has a bit of lace that stays over the top of your breast when you open it for breast feeding, which I like. Trying to put off buying any more until I need to though, as your size keeps changing until your milk comes in. I'll probably look for more at about week 37.

Can't believe your colleague said that! So rude and so unprofessional. Very glad you've managed not to be sick though. And that you'll have the back up drugs of it does start up again.

EltzBee · 18/01/2019 11:26

@ChaosMoon ah cool! Oh bless you, at least you can see the funny side.

That's a good idea; forgot H&M did underwear. Did you notice your boobs went through phases of growing or is it just random?

Oh I know, I really couldn't believe it. I was sat on the windowsill in the hallway as was on the phone (timezones as DH is 8 hours behind so only time for crossover is during our afternoon/evening). But yes very glad today I've not been sick! I'm taking each day as it comes - I really want to ask my Mum but I've not told her we're expecting (I expect she's guessed tbh though).

My hands have also got really dry and flakey, red and cracked - bit like eczema. Sudocreme to the rescue. My DH joked on the phone that I'm falling apart...lol.

GemmaJen · 18/01/2019 12:50

@Crossfitgirl spoke to the area midwife team in the end as I had more spotting yesterday, the lady I spoke to was so lovely, she made me feel much better. Basically not to worry unless it keeps happening or gets worse or accompanied by pain. If it stays the same but continues into next week she'll set up a scan at the EPU for me. The midwife was so lovely and understanding, I'm glad I don't have to see my GP. I've got my booking in appointment on Wednesday so a good opportunity to catch up on it if need be.

Still no symptoms, still only 5+2 so early but the bloating has gone, stomach cramps are gone, no sore boobs yet and I'm just left feeling like a fraud 🙈 I don't want to wish nausea on myself but feeling something would be kinda reassuring right now.
