Just wanted to catch up with everyone from the TTC thread. I know some of us have July due dates and others August due dates, so wanted to check in with you all!

I know it sounds silly but you wait for ages to fall pregnant and want to be reminded you are. I am massively bloated though, look pregnant lol.

@cookiewaffle my Pilates teacher told me last night that at this stage baby isn’t getting food from you so anything you drink wouldn’t be passed on. Not sure if that’s true or not but I’ve heard it a couple of times xx

Bettyhop · 07/12/2018 21:59

@Crossfitgirl here is little one😍 this was 12+6 So getting excited for 20 week scan now! We are going through the most stressful house move ever known, you must be so relieved to be in and getting settled ready for baby coming along! Xxx
What are people's thoughts about finding out the sex of the baby? I don't think we are going to find out but I had a really vivid dream that this baby is a boy! Xxx

Awww @bettyhop there is literally nothing more amazing than that 😍. We’ve always said we wouldn’t find out, some of my friends found out for their second child but none did for their first. I like the idea of a surprise I think, might change my mind though 🙈 xx

RanchoRelaxo · 07/12/2018 22:50

Ah beautiful scan! Yea I'm pretty sure I will find out what sex the baby is! Can't wait to find out and start planning 😂

Crossfitgirl · 08/12/2018 09:30

@cookiewaffle I think it's just how long since the first day of your last period. CD1 for me was Sun 4th Nov, so I'm 4+6. If that makes sense?
OMG rose champagne... sounds sooo tempting! I'm sure one glass would be fine. Personally, I'm not drinking at all as one of my apps said everything you consume will also go to your baby (?via the placenta or something), and I can't stop thinking that whenever I want caffeine or wine.

Now I want some rose champagne 😅

@senorasurf it sounds awful. Maybe it's not a bad idea to tell someone at work, just so if you do feel unwell somebody knows and understands. @sunshine1987 I'm a bit bloated too and keep having to undo buttons!

@bettyhop 😍😍😍😍 wow! So lovely to see! We want to find out the sex, same as @ranchorelaxo I can't wait to start planning either! I've been told by my reflexologist that it's a boy :-)

What do you all want to have? I thought I wanted a boy but now I kinda want a girl! I know I'll be happy with a healthy baby regardless of the sex, but guys... you must have a secret preference? 😏

sunshine1987 · 08/12/2018 09:53

@crossfitgirl I always wanted two boys, now that I’m pregnant and my best friend is due a couple of months before me with a girl, I can’t get out my head both of us having girls together and them being best friends 😂🙈 I did like the idea of a girl for my husband, as he always wanted one to have the relationship I have with my Dad, he’s a big softie 😍. So now I’m swaying towards a girl but honestly we’d be happy either way xx

MrsC87 · 08/12/2018 10:38

Morning ladies so today is my second missed period, so I'm 8 weeks!
Still trying to process it all and remain relaxed.
I'm going to find out what we are having as I'm too impatient to wait. I want to plan and organise nursery etc.
I'm genuinely happy with either. If I had a boy then it will be the only boy in the family. If I had a girl then I know what I'm doing and we have lots of hand me downs as I have two nieces.
I know it's early but anyone thinking of going to the baby show local to them? I went with my sister when she was pregnant and it was great x

Crossfitgirl · 08/12/2018 12:19

Yay for 8 weeks @mrsc87! DH was just saying this morning how it doesn't feel real yet, I think when we tell people it will be a bit more real, and maybe the first midwife appt.
If a baby show is anything like a wedding fair, I will avoid like the plague 😂 I hated them! Although, I signed up for "my baby club " online and am currently getting inundated daily with offers / freebie emails for anything baby related stuff. So as far as too early/ tempting fate goes, I'm screwed! Haha although I haven't actually applied for any of the stuff yet.

@sunshine1987 aw how nice that your friend isnt far from you! Have you told her yet? my best friend is trying too but she was drinking pints the other day when I saw her so she cant be pg yet but I'm hoping maybe we'll be maternity buddies too if she catches within a few months of me :-)

sunshine1987 · 08/12/2018 12:37

@crossfitgirl I did! She’s so excited for us and it’s nice to share it with someone. Plus she gets all my stupid questions lol and we can share designated driver duties lol xx

CrystalBlaze · 08/12/2018 18:44

I clicked this thread hoping it would be you lot! So nice to see so many of you with happy news Smile

How is everyone doing today? I was absolutely wiped out in the early weeks but avoided all sickness thank God.

I'm 20 weeks now. Have to decide on Tuesday whether to find out the sex but I don't think we will.

Crossfitgirl · 08/12/2018 19:37

Hey @crystalblaze aww so nice to see you're doing well! I can't believe you're 20 weeks, it doesn't feel that long since!
And no sickness, yay! Have symptoms settled down now? So exciting for your scan! You'll have to let us know if you do decide to find out:-)

CrystalBlaze · 08/12/2018 21:15

Thanks @Crossfitgirl, I know it's gone crazy fast! No real symptoms now apart from indigestion. Have been very lucky so will probably be punished with a horrendous labour Wink

How far along are you?! How is your new place?

Crossfitgirl · 08/12/2018 21:50

@crystalblaze I will only be 5 weeks tomorrow, so very early days for me yet, and at the moment I only have mildly sensitive nipples in the way of symptoms!
@sunshine1987 and I were worried about lack of symptoms so it's slightly reassuring to hear you never got any sickness!
I have just been talking to DH about an early scan at 7 weeks (would be 23rd Dec- DH birthday and opportunity to see heartbeat and get pics of the blob it would be at that point for announcing to family in Xmas day) but I'm too worried that it may show something wrong and ruin Christmas!
How did you cope with getting through the daunting first trimester without worrying too much?

And thank you for asking - the new house is perfect and we actually concieved christening it!! Haha. And i know this as we only DTD once in the fertile window! Couldn't have been better timed 😂

CrystalBlaze · 09/12/2018 08:56

I think it's so easy to worry @Crossfitgirl but you just need to keep reminding yourself that it's very unlikely that all isn't well. Everyone experiences pregnancy differently and if your symptoms are mild that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the baby at all - apart from tiredness and sore boobs I was fine, and had pretty much nothing at all before 6 weeks.

I think everyone fears bad news at the 12 week scan but you will be fine. Smile

molinski · 09/12/2018 09:21

Hey everyone can I join in with this?
Had been TTC for few months and got BFP on Friday. I'm 4+5 so very early. Haven't yet told any family which I'm finding difficult as very close with them but have told a couple of close work colleagues.
I've noticed that I've got a bit of bloating and I keep getting cramps that feel like period pains. Not really excruciating but enough to feel it if that makes sense. Also feeling quite nauseous off and on but I don't know if that's nerves to tell people! Boobs also very sore. Accidentally whacked them with a loaf of bread in Tesco and it felt like I was being electrocuted!

Really worried something is going to go wrong especially as so early on and I've got these cramps. Every time I go for a wee I'm terrified I'm going to see red. Anyone else in same boat as me? 👶🏼

ChaosMoon · 09/12/2018 10:29

I can't tell you are happy it's made me to see you all on this thread! Massive congratulations to you all. I really missed you ladies!

This board is nice, but it doesn't seem to have the camaraderie that the TTC board did. That probably actually my fault though. I felt so awful in the first trimester that I could barely keep my eyes open long enough to make it through anything on here. So I don't think I've pulled my weight either!

I'm 23 weeks now and managed not to find out the gender at the scan. I regularly wonder what I'm having, but I'm also really looking forward to the surprise!

@Crossfitgirl what you said about exercise has always stayed with me and quite frankly has been a godsend! Not that it was easy to keep going for the first few months, just because of exhaustion. I've had to up my game to cope with the round ligament pain now though. How are you finding it?

ChaosMoon · 09/12/2018 10:31

Oh and @molinski, I had period type cramping and spotting until 15 or 16 weeks. It was fine. Try not to worry but talk to your midwife if the cramping is bad or you see any red blood.

CrystalBlaze · 09/12/2018 12:44

@Chaos well done on holding out! I'm going to need to try and stay strong! I do think it'll be lovely to have a surprise at the end of it though.

And @molinski as others have said, it's a really nerve wracking and exciting thing that you can't share with many people at this point so it's hard! But trust me the time flies by. Cannot believe I'm halfway through already.

RanchoRelaxo · 09/12/2018 13:24

Hi guys, what's everyone been up to this weekend?
I went for an early scan this morning, was so nervous but they were lovely and it's happy news, the baby is real and in the right place, and it's even been dated a day ahead of what I thought at 8 weeks 5 😁 can't really believe it

RanchoRelaxo · 09/12/2018 13:25

Measuring just over 2cm :)

Congratulations @Rancho, that's such lovely news. And a great clear pic! Bet you're thrilled Smile

We've been to get our Christmas tree today so feeling very festive.

sunshine1987 · 09/12/2018 15:02

@ranchorelaxo wonderful news 💜

RanchoRelaxo · 09/12/2018 17:33

Thank you :)
@CrystalBlaze ooh lovely we put our tree up the other weekend, I love having the lights on when it's dark outside, can't wait for Christmas!

ChaosMoon · 09/12/2018 18:10

That's awesome @RanchoRelaxo. What a great picture!

You can do it @CrystalBlaze! It'll totally be worth it at the end.

Crossfitgirl · 10/12/2018 11:30

Hi @chaosmoon! So lovely to see you on here, I'm so glad the exercise advice stuck! I'm going to tell my crossfit coach tonight... I'm a little nervous! But I want to stay fit for the birth!

@ranchorelaxo aww how amazing! I'm seriously debating an early scan now!

@crystalblaze it'll be great to have a nice surprise on the day, you have more will power than me! Xxx
