I’m along the south coast!

@mrsc87 all the best for tomorrow, sure it’ll be absolutely fine, only normal to have some nerves! Can’t wait to see your scan photo 💜

We’ve got a snuzpod on our list of wants, going to wait until after the 12 week scan before I get too involved in looking at stuff/buying anything. Only two weeks to go!

Hope you’ve all had lovely weekends xx

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 05:20

Cute picture @ChaosMoon, is that you? 😍

I'm from MrsC87's neck of the woods though I live in the south east now.

Good luck at your scan @MrsC87! xx

I've very casually started looking at a few things, i'm still waiting on that scan first though!

MrsLBear · 07/01/2019 05:24

Good luck with your scan today @MrsC87 let us know how it goes!! I'm sure it will be the most amazing thing and everything will be absolutely fine - especially hearing that little heart beat.

I live Essex 😀 we are all over the country!

Since I've had the time to, I've Googled so much and I know it's early but I feel like what will happen will happen and I don't want to look back thinking I spent this whole time feeling like I couldn't get excited. Trying to stay positive. This does come and go some days!
There's such amazing things you can get now! Like the gro egg that does the room temp but also stands as a night light!! My friend sister has one and really recommends it.

What are you ladies feeling about breastfeeding?

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 06:14

I'd like to breastfeed if I can, but depends if I can! Past operations may mean I can't. Will have to wait and see.

Had a look at NCT classes after you ladies were talking about them, midwife didn't mention at all and I don't know much about them! Seems the cheaper one for my due date is all booked up already. I think I'll consider these though, my family aren't near and none of my friends are pregnant at the moment so would be good to have some people nearby for support.

sunshine1987 · 07/01/2019 06:23

@cookiewaffle booked up already? That was quick! Midwifes probably wouldn’t mention them as they aren’t run by the NHS and probably would prefer you did there’s? We can’t get the essentials course down here, only the signature, it’s just under £300 here 😬 umming and ahhing as my best friend will be on mat leave same time as me and my other friends are part time as I’m the last to have a baby. Really not sure what do to x

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 06:33

@sunshine1987 weirdly she didn't even mention NHS ones too! Ouch £300?? hmm maybe not then! I'm presuming the other is booked as the July and late Aug ones are showing. I've emailed to check.

sunshine1987 · 07/01/2019 06:37

@cookiewaffle yeah mine didn’t either to be fair, but I remember my friends doing a one day course with the hospital when they were weeks away from popping. Yeah the only ones that came up for me are those because of my due date, they put you on courses with people with the same dates. If you fill in the form to enquire the price comes through in an email, apparently it massively varies based on where you are in the country x

mrsof20118 · 07/01/2019 07:13

@CookieWaffle I best look at the classes properly too.
We exchange on our current property sale today and have found a rental for 6 months in one of our four shortlisted areas we want to move to. I guess it makes sense to book a class in that area as no guarantee where we will end up come August (If we hav we found another place by then of course!)

ChaosMoon · 07/01/2019 07:23

I know how terrifying that is @MrsEG. I'm glad things looked ok the day before yesterday, and I have everything crossed today.

Have a wonderful time today @MrsC87. Those worries are only natural, but I'm sure everything will be fine.

☺️ Thanks @CookieWaffle. It is actually, but it's a misleading photo. I was not a cute baby!

That's such a great attitude @MrsLBear, I couldn't agree more. We'll never have a time like this again. If any of us have another one we'll already have number one running around to take care of, so we won't be able to appreciate it in the same way.

I want to bf too. Exclusively at first, but I'd also like to express so DH can take the occasional bottle later on. Apparently that's on the agenda for my next midwife appointment, which'll be interesting.

RanchoRelaxo · 07/01/2019 07:29

@MrsC87 have a lovely time today at your scan, will be wonderful to see the baby having a wriggle!

I am 13 weeks today, and think I am starting to get a bit of a bump? My belly is a bit bigger anyway because of Christmas 😂 but this morning I just feel more rounded, who knows! Everyone who is further than me, when did you notice the start of a bump?

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 08:04

@RanchoRelaxo I was just gonna ask the same! I definitely have a bump now, only a little one and I'm 9 weeks. I thought it was a bit early yet?? I can usually hold my stomach in but today it's definitely more firm.

Crossfitgirl · 07/01/2019 08:19

@cookiewaffle @ranchorelaxo I have bloat rather than bump at 9+1 today. Been so bloated for weeks now though! DHs book says the bump usually comes between 12-14 weeks but it'll be different for everyone. Slimmer people might show sooner?
Good luck today @mrsc87!
@sunshine1987 the snuzpod looks nice, are they where you can have it next to the bed? I'm adding it to my list that I've just started now 😂
@cookiewaffle I've been casually looking but more browsing than serious thought. @mrslbear yes you're totally right, it should be an exciting time and actually I don't want my excitement to be blighted with the worry of MC - if it happens it happens I guess and there wouldn't be anything we could do.

@mrslbear I definitely want to breastfeed, but I'm really anxious how it's going to go. Sounds ridiculous but I've always had really sensitive nipples. I mean it's rare I've even let DH go near them, so I'm a bit worried about breastfeeding being painful or difficult. But I also know it's a magical experience, good for the baby, and will make me feel like a proper mum. If that makes sense. I'm definitely going to be looking at nipple cream, nipple protectors and a breast pump if I do find it too hard but still want the benefits of my milk. Xx

RanchoRelaxo · 07/01/2019 08:45

@CookieWaffle @Crossfitgirl I think mine is mostly bloat, but I do feel something harder underneath the bloat if that makes sense 😂 I hope so anyway I'm really excited to get a bump!

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 09:18

Yes I really can't wait to say "No it's not just because I'm fat!" haha :)

So morning sickness has reached a whole new level this morning with the addition of a cold. Its like sneeze - cough - throw up - repeat, such joy!

Crossfitgirl · 07/01/2019 09:29

Oh no @cookiewaffle that sounds absolutely awful! Hope it passes as soon as possible!

I don't feel amazing, but I don't feel bad and am debating braving the gym for a bit as i have a day off in leiu today.

I've already put my gym stuff on to psych myself up. I'm hoping it'll maybe perk up my energy? It could go the other way, but either way I'm determined to do at least half an hour even if it's just a few squats.

@ranchorelaxo Mine definitely still feels squishy. SO much bloat. In fact my gym leggings are making me feel sick! May have to change into something else lol! x

MrsEG · 07/01/2019 09:46

Thanks so much @ChaosMoon, have woken up feeling a little anxious about the hospital today but keeping a positive mind. My boobs are incredibly sore today and the spotting has stopped which I hope can only be a good thing!

I’m keeping an open mind about breastfeeding - my sister has had two bouts of mastitis and has been incredibly poorly. I’d definitely give it a go but I won’t put too much pressure on myself as it really doesn’t always work out for everyone. I will never forget sitting with her as she tried to pump through the mastitis and the bottle filled with blood 😟 The glamour of it all!!

All being well, we are foregoing NCT for a hypnobirthing course instead. I like meditating and yoga so the idea of breathing techniques to keep calm etc really appeals to me!

EltzBee · 07/01/2019 10:01

Morning ladies. Had my GP appointment this morning, I've got extra folic acid prescribed to take daily up to 12 weeks.

The first appointment with midwife they could give me wasn't for a month - 7th Feb - when I'll be 10 to 11 weeks pregnant already :o seems so late and so long away to see anyone! On a wait list for an earlier appointment. They said my weight shouldn't be a problem for consultant/Dr care, but my antidepressants might as there is an added, if very very small, risk, from them of heart issues. Generally the risk is outweighed thought from my not being anxious which the tablets keep in check...

Disappointed how long a wait it is to see midwife! Apparently my scan will be between 11 and 14 weeks. Guessing if the midwifes are that booked up it's gonna be later....Dr requested the scan so now just got to wait.

Feeling absolutely shattered just after the trip to the GP and pharmacy this morning, and nausea is definitely here in full force. Cup of tea (my one proper of the day before switching to the de-caf!) and dry crackers are my friends today!

MrsC87 · 07/01/2019 10:30

@MrsC87 ahhh!! Lovely :) how many weeks are you now? Love the scan pic, you must be so pleased right now :) :) :)

MrsC87 · 07/01/2019 10:44

I'm 12w 6d. So chuffed, I can finally relax!
Going out for lunch to celebrate xxx

EltzBee · 07/01/2019 10:49

@MrsC87 enjoy! Are you going to start telling people now? Have a lovely celebratory lunch :)

QQ I meant to ask for anyone - my GP also recommended I have the flu-jab. Has anyone else had this in early pregnancy? I'm not sure what to do!

MrsC87 · 07/01/2019 10:51

Yes we are going to tell people. Not doing a social media announcement just a private message to selected people.

I had the flu jab and they asked me today if I had so it's worth booking in at GP @EltzBee xx

OP posts:
MrsEG · 07/01/2019 11:08

@MrsC87 Oh How lovely! Congrats on a fabulous scan! Enjoy that lunch :)

@EltzBee Yep I have my flu jab every year so had mine back in October before I even conceived! I had flu once a few years ago and I was so poorly I ended up in hospital - would not be wanting that while preggers! Also I think 10 weeks is fairly average for your first appt; I’ve been told mine will be roughly the same. Still waiting on my date!

EltzBee · 07/01/2019 11:15

@MrsEG ah interesting. I was surprised it was so late, I thought certain blood tests had to be done before 10 weeks or something.

I think I might be tempted to get a private scan done if we have to wait til 14 weeks for our dating scan - just for reassurance that things are ok.

Thanks ladies, I guess I will probably get booked in for the flu jab then. There seems to be such mixed advice online about when to have it.

CookieWaffle · 07/01/2019 11:27

@MrsC87 ahh hello baby! Lovely scan! Enjoy your lunch! xx

@EltzBee yep mine told me to have it. I should have it anyway due to asthma but I always chicken out. However I went in to book it as we're more susceptible to catching things at the moment. Was over in a second and arm was just sore for a day. I have had flu before, it ws nasty!
