Happy birthday for yesterday @EltzBee 🎂🎉

CrystalBlaze · 03/01/2019 12:43

Tiredness is killing me today! Didn't sleep well at all and woke up at 4.30am and couldn't get back to sleep. Baby was very much awake and my hip was still killing me. Feel like I've suddenly become very pregnant Shock

Happy birthday @EltzBee and congrats on the scan @MrsM! Lovely pic.

MrsC87 · 03/01/2019 13:04

Hey lovelies sorry I keep dipping in and out of convo but symptoms really kicked in at 10 weeks. I've had sickness every other day and now lost 12 pounds!!
Is this normal?
I'm 12 weeks tomo and have my scan Monday. Very very nervous x

ChaosMoon · 03/01/2019 13:46

Don't apologise @MrsC87, and don't worry. It's totally normal. I lost tons of weight in the first trimester but it was all ok. I put it back on eventually and I'm a healthy weight for where I am now.

I think everyone's nervous at their scan, but try not to worry too much. Most babies are actually fine at this point.

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 16:08

Happy 30th @Eltzbee, sorry the start of the sickness has appeared. Now you can have a moan with the rest of us glam pregnant lot! Get plenty rest and find something you can eat without feeling sick, and go with it!

@mrsc87 oh no, sorry symptoms have ramped up at 10 weeks. We are all so set on it getting better the nearer the 12 weeks we get!! Is it settling at all? I thought mine were being kept fairly at bay and maybe even getting better at 8+4 but its just so unpredictable. I feel like I pay for any good days I have the next day with an awful one!

@sullywifey I think if I hadn't worked from home I wouldn't have gone in at all. I have to do patient visits so I do have to drive places but starting and finishing at home is definitely a luxury I'm pleased to have right now. Although getting out of the house definitely distracts me from it at least!

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 16:18

@mrsm2017 I've basically told my manager I'll be working from home whenever I can, and she's said it's fine. they're quite understanding as the majority of my female NHS team are either pregnant or part time with kids! Haha. Think I'm the only still secret one at the mo though.
I'm shitting myself about next week though. Someone has booked me a really full on day on Tuesday so I'm dreading it already thinking oh god, Wednesday is going to be awful as I'll be so tired from Tuesday!
I'm hoping it just starts to go away at 9ish weeks like yours did @mrsof20118. Is it still staying away?

MrsLBear · 03/01/2019 16:43

Gosh reading all your symptoms is making me nervous. I've not got anything apart from very very very sore boobs and sensitive nipples and I'm sure both have got bigger. The boob bit I'm fine with but bigger nipples. Really!?
I'm only 4+1 though so I know that I'm by no means near the worst.
It's amazing how not drinking makes you want to do different things. Everyone is sitting outside with cold beers and rose and I'm sat inside with the air con on thinking when would be reasonable to slip off to bed.
We think DH has a stomach bug and I am so so scared to get it. I need to google if it could harm anything if I was to get it. The last thing I need right now!
How far along were when the cramping calmed @SullyWifey?
I had some strong pains last night and today too.

SullyWifey · 03/01/2019 16:53

@Crossfitgirl so good reading that you have a really supportive team!! I feel like I'm in totally opposite situation to you :( I'm dreading telling my work.

@MrsLBear don't worry your still so early for all these symptoms and hopefully your lucky like my friend and won't get hardly any!
So I had cramping in my 5th week pretty much constantly and was painful. Then I have had the odd twinge and sharpe pain randomly since then. However on New Years I had those insane pains which lasted a fair few hours and that was start of week 9. Next couple days was crampy and now feel back to normal with the odd twinge. My boobs still hurt from time to time and my nipple has doubled haha. It's hideous!! I have small B cup boobs so it's mostly nipple now, which makes me laugh. Xxx

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 16:54

@mrsLbear not everyone gets sickness remember so you might be fine. Enjoy the pre 6 weeks bliss and cross your fingers it passes you by! I'm totally pathetic so mine probably sound worse than they are. Feel sorry for the girls being sick (Although I sometimes wish I could be to get rid of the nausea!) My cramping lasted maybe a few days to a week or so I think? Then eased off but it comes back now and again not as strong. Nothing to worry about.
Also, if you get a bug it's not going to be harmful to the baby, you might just catch it more easily or not fight it off as quickly, as your immune system won't be up to scratch.
Just avoid him!! Lol. Can you sleep in another room maybe for a couple of nights? Though to be fair if youre gonna get it you're gonna get it. I had contact with a patient with D&V quite early on and didn't find out till after I'd already touched her, I was horrified but I never caught anything.
Just wash your hands loads especially before you eat anything I bet you'll be totally fine xxx

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 16:57

Oh no @sullywifey I hope they are OK with you. Is it office work? I'm amazed you've managed to get away with not telling them, you have been so poorly!!
The nipple comment made me giggle 😂 mine look the same but just FEEL massive cos they're so sensitive!!

MrsLBear · 03/01/2019 17:13

I'm counting my blessings atm @Crossfitgirl.
I can't tell either if I'm just holiday lazy or tired. I know that it's gonna hit me hard when I go back to work though and I will also be nearly 6 weeks then.
I remember one of my clients said that it felt like she was hungover without the relief after being sick or a good nap.
Yeah I just googled it too actually and it said it's fine just need to make sure I stay hydrated.
No way!!! That's so good you didn't catch it though. I have a pretty good stomach (touch wood) so hoping it bypasses me. He is a sensitive sole/you know what men are like!!
Cos we are away there's no where else to go and I don't have the heart to send him to the sofa.

@SullyWifey ok so I've got some more to come then! Yes I remember now. Glad that it's calmed down for you though. I'm not with it at all. I'm getting everyone's names mixed up atm and I started washing my body with my face wash earlier. Honestly it's already not becoming a pretty sight 😂

CrystalBlaze · 03/01/2019 17:31

@MrsLBear as @Crossfitgirl said some people don't get sickness - I wasn't sick once. Bit of nausea in the early days but nothing awful Smile

Good news @Crossfitgirl about your team being supportive, think that really helps. I have quite a lengthy commute and I am starting to get massive/slightly uncomfortable so may start asking to do a day a week from home soon. Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem!

CookieWaffle · 03/01/2019 17:57

I'm a size F and my boobs have been so sore. It's quite a challenge turning over at night! Work yesterday managed to take my mind off the nausea, though I had an occasional gulp which I managed to distract. Worse thing was nearly falling asleep at my desk in the afternoon!

Went to the maternity unit today to ge my bloods done. Quite a surreal experience sat alongside newborns, hobbling heavily pregnant ladies and midwives everywhere. They gave me the date for my 12 week scan, in 3 weeks time, eek! Guess I should probably tell my boss soon then...

MrsM2017 · 03/01/2019 18:22

That's good about working from home @Crossfitgirl will be thinking of you for your full on day, hopefully you'll have a good day that day 🤞🏻

MrsM2017 · 03/01/2019 18:24

Midwife called me yesterday too and got my booking in appointment tomorrow so might ask for any recommendations to ease my nausea 😂

For this who are further on than me (8+2) when did your symptoms start to improve?

mrsof20118 · 03/01/2019 18:38

@Crossfitgirl my nausea has settled quite a bit. I have a bit of dry heaving if I walk in to some bad smells like grotty public toilets! Or feel a bit sick if i get too hungry. Still very tired though. Boob pain has ramped up in the last two days especially the nipples. I have switched to wirefree bras but now spilling out of them so think I'll get some maternity bras at the weekend.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed today as nearly exchanged on our current property sale abd have to go into rented for 6 months as we haven't found an onward purchase yet (three sales fallen through on current place so lost 3 dream homes in that time too!) Timing could be very iffy with the baby due end of July or early August!

mrsof20118 · 03/01/2019 18:38

@MrsM2017 around nine weeks for me in terms of feeling less sick.

Bettyhop · 03/01/2019 19:00

@mrsm2017 I'd say around 15 weeks I stopped vomiting every day and my energy came back at a similar time. I felt like I could finally enjoy being pregnant! I'm now 20+1 and still retchy and nauseous when I get hungry but 100% better than it was. Hope it starts to ease for you soon!

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow and I'm really nervous. I know chances are everything will be fine but there is always the what if. Feeling plenty of flutters and feeling so attached to this little baby already! Will update after the scan. X

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 19:14

Aw @mrsLbear yeah treat him nice, you may need him in a couple of weeks. DH has had to do EVERYTHING for me for nearly 3 weeks now lol. Though I have done the shopping today :-) I said I'd do that do he can cook. I find I can stomach food better when I've not stood over the cooking smells.
Also, YES - hungover is exactly how I'd describe the feeling! But without the gin 😢

@crystalblaze fingers crossed its fine, I'm sure they'd rather keep you in work than have you develop a back issue and go off sick! How far on are you now?
@cookiewaffle my boobs have got a bit more sore too! I hope the 3 weeks fly by - mines on the 28th so not long after! I've told people that need to know at work but not my actual boss yet. At 12 weeks I probably will!

@mrsM2017 thank you. I'll just have to plan in an extra long lunch or something! Things that work for me on the nausea front is fresh air and distraction, along with constant nibbling on whatever I fancy, cleaning my teeth a lot to get rid of funny tastes, and rennies on a night time and getting enough sleep. Ginger has not helped me one bit!
@mrsof20118 the boobs don't stop getting sore do they - I'm only a 32B and my boobs hurt just walking now!! Tried to wear my M&S crop top to work but my nipples are so sticky outie I couldn't! Haha.
Oh good luck for the move! Could you just rent for a bit longer if you needed to make life a bit easier around your due date or are you wanting to buy ASAP? It's so stressful buying a house isn't it, we moved just before Christmas. Luckily it was a straightforward chain so no major issues. Fingers crossed it goes as smoothly as possible for you xxx

Crossfitgirl · 03/01/2019 19:18

So sorry for the essay haha. Aww good luck for the scan @bettyhop. I'd be shitting it too, it's only natural to worry. And we're not gonna stop worrying about them, ever :-) so may as well get used to it hehe.
Ive spent too much time on mumsnet today so checking out for a bit xxx

CrystalBlaze · 03/01/2019 20:30

Good luck @Bettyhop - sure all will be fine but it's only natural to worry! Are you going to find out the sex?

@Crossfitgirl I'm nearly 24 weeks. Time is ticking away quite scarily fast now!

ChaosMoon · 03/01/2019 20:40

Not properly until about 17 weeks I'm afraid @MrsM2017.

Have you considered layering crop tops @Crossfitgirl 😉

Teachermummy83 · 03/01/2019 22:00

Hi ladies, sorry for dipping in and out here. A combination of festivities, nerves and being shattered haven’t left much time!
Just catching up on posts, especially about all the awful symptoms you guys are having and feeling ultra guilty! 6 weeks today and no sign of any nausea or aches and pains at all - it actually makes me nervous that something isn’t right??! I am absolutely exhausted though! I’d initially put the exhauation down to the stinking cold I’ve been struggling to shake, but reading everyone’s posts is making me wonder if it’s due to being pregnant? Work next week is going to be interesting if I can’t wake myself up a bit!!! 😴

mrsof20118 · 03/01/2019 22:33

Possibly @Crossfitgirl we started searching last jan so been a long year. We are hoping once in rented it will be less stressful to purchase with us being chain free and put us at the top of the food chain so to speak with buying.

RanchoRelaxo · 04/01/2019 08:19

Good luck for the scan today @Bettyhop
Hi @Teachermummy83 I was the same, didn't really feel much apart from super tiredness. I am also still catching colds easily!
