Haha @Crossfitgirl I like those, before j got my positive test I said I would do small exercises everyday if I was pregnant.. yeah right!
Good luck today @Delilah7

MrsLBear · 31/12/2018 08:29

Hi girls!!! Ah familiar faces!!!!
How are you all doing?
So I got my BFP this morning. Nhs due date says I'm due 11/9 which is also my birthday so I'm 3+6 weeks. Not gonna lie it's taken me all morning to figure that out but I've finally cracked it.

I'm on holiday with my family and ofcs I told DH but I dunno how to tell my parents without my siblings finding out! Not sure I can keep it from my parents either.

Are there any good apps you ladies can recommend?

MrsLBear · 31/12/2018 08:30

Oh my!!!! These scan pics are too cute. So happy for you all!! Must be so incredible seeing that ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Crossfitgirl · 31/12/2018 08:41

Congratulations @mrsLbear and @teachermummy83. I use Ovia, but haven't really found any that are amazing tbh. I used flo when ttc but it's crap in pregnancy mode!
@ranchorelaxo same, I was like ooh ill be a healthy mum, i'll still be doing the gym etc... Ha ha ha...
Maybe the 2nd trimester will perk me up... 1 month to go!

ChaosMoon · 31/12/2018 08:57

Oh @Delilah7, I'm so sorry you're feeling so horrendous, and that it's stopping you from looking forward to the scan. I really hope it calms down now you're approaching the second trimester.

I think @Crossfitgirl has a point about taking to your midwife about your mental health. You've been through such a lot this year and it might help to to up your
emotional resources so you can deal with what's happening physically. You may only see a sonographer today though, in which case give your midwife a call.

I really hope, once you're seeing your baby on the screen, some of the magic comes back.

Congratulations @MrsLBear and @teachermummy83!

This Christmas has been an exhausting series of family events and hen dos. The tiredness is one thing, but in the middle of trying to be "fun" and do it all, I've managed to damage my back, and it's getting worse, not better. I'm trying not to let it get me down, but even my beloved yoga isn't touching it. In fact, I can hardly do the yoga as I get stuck between positions. ☹️

RanchoRelaxo · 31/12/2018 09:00

Congratulations @MrsLBear I like babycentre the most, my midwife told me to download the bounty app too so I've got them both
Forgot to say on my last post, loving all the little scan pics, so cute

sunshine1987 · 31/12/2018 09:27

Congratulations @mrslbear and @teachermummy83, amazing news 💜

I use BabyCentre and pregnancy+. I know the NHS push Bounty but I don’t agree with what they do so going to stay away from that app I think

Delilah7 · 31/12/2018 11:24

Baby is all well. 12th July due!

Catching up with those from TTC thread
EltzBee · 31/12/2018 11:31

@Delilah7 ah amazing news, so glad your scan went well!

5+2 today and think I'm fighting a cold. Just on time for my birthday on Wednesday, doh!

I was surprised how rubbish the FF app is in pregnancy mode!

sunshine1987 · 31/12/2018 11:32

@delilah7 so glad to hear it, hope it gives you the boost you need 💜

sunshine1987 · 31/12/2018 11:32

@eltzbee me too! It’s still telling me when my period is due too each month 🙄 helpful

ChaosMoon · 31/12/2018 11:33

Aw, @Delilah7 that's wonderful news and a beautiful photo! How are you feeling now?

@sunshine1987 what's wrong with Bounty? I haven't used the app but now I'm intrigued.

Delilah7 · 31/12/2018 11:34

Thanks ladies.
@ChaosMoon I'm still feeling really nauseous. Obviously lovely to see baby and that they're fine but I was carrying my sick bowl everywhere in that hospital 😂

MrsLBear · 31/12/2018 11:49

Thank you ladies ✨✨✨✨

Oh no @ChaosMoon I know all about getting and having back injuries it's awful. It's so debilitating and nothing works. Even worse being pg and having it cos you can't take anything strong enough to relax the muscles to ease the pain. Have you done it before?

Ok so I've downloaded baby centre, bounty and pregnancy+. Gonna see which one I like the most. I'm a stickler for stats and dates.
I know @EltzBee it's really not very good. Doesn't do much at all. Natural cycles is ok but again not great.
When did you ladies phone phone your gp? I don't really know how it works. First time round for me!
I'm away until mid January anyway and by then I will be 6+4.

Such good news @Delilah7!!! Sending virtual hugs and hoping that you feel better soon and that the sickness subsides. I echo the others though, speak to your midwife they will be able to help.

CobaltRose96 · 31/12/2018 12:00

I'm back!

Growth scan showed baby girl is totally fine and not small! Weighs 3lb 6oz and measuring dead on 50th percentile. Guess my bump is just small!

At least if anyone asks me to do anything, I can now say that I'm carrying around 3 and a half pounds of baby so can't 😝

sunshine1987 · 31/12/2018 12:11

@chaosmoon it’s just the way they are on the wards, hassling new mothers just after they’ve had babies etc. A friend of mines child was in intensive care and the bounty rep wouldn’t leave her alone even though she was visibly upset and was being hounded for photos, her husband had to basically remove the woman in the end. If you google them there’s lots of horror stories, just personally don’t think they should be allowed on the wards x

EltzBee · 31/12/2018 13:32

@sunshine1987 I've downloaded What To Expect and th Ovia preg which don't seem too bad.

@MrsLBear I rang the GP day or two after my bfp. They said the Dr likes to see people about 6 weeks so I'm booked in for 7th Jan, and they'll confirm it and I assume get me on the list for midwife. The NHS website says to give them a ring as soon as you get your positive.

sunshine1987 · 31/12/2018 13:36

@mrslbear would check your doctors website, my GP doesn’t see me, just asks me to self refer to the midwife so I rang them for my booking in appointment x

EltzBee · 31/12/2018 14:57

DH just got home with some Seedlip (alcohol free gin) for me so I can still enjoy a gin and tonic for NYE. Smile

MrsEG · 31/12/2018 15:26

@MrsLBear I saw my GP last week, she was lovely and referred me to the midwife who called me today. I’ve definitely rushed things by the sounds of things though as my first appointment won’t be til I’m 10 weeks!! So I think calling when you are home from hols will be fine. All getting very real!

Ahhh these scan photos are just amazing. How absolutely wonderful those experiences must be!!

@CobaltRose96 Glad to hear your little one is doing just fine!

@Delilah7 Hope it all eases off soon for you. My sister had HG very bad and was hospitalised twice so I do feel for you, she was utterly miserable. Really hoping you start feeling better now you’re heading in to your second trimester.

Delilah7 · 31/12/2018 15:31

Thanks everyone x x x

mrsof20118 · 31/12/2018 17:03

Glad the scans went well @CobaltRose96 and @delilah7

Happy New year to you all. Anyone else been having leg cramps in the night? It's more down the side of my thighs and hips and not something I've experienced before.

CookieWaffle · 31/12/2018 17:15

Oh wow, look at those scans! So beautiful!

And welcome to all the new BFPs too!

I had my first visit from the midwife today. It's just the most surreal experience. There's no 'How are you feeling? Are you able to eat ok?' it's just straight to business with lots of family history questions and stuff I need to know. I said, do you not want to find out if i'm actually pregnant? 'No we just take your word for it'. So when will I find out? 'At your 12 week scan'. I get that they must do hundreds of these but it all seemed very impersonal.

As I was looking a bit overwhelmed she was about to put down that it was a surprise pregancy, I was like 'No, no it was very much planned, just doesn't feel real yet!'

EltzBee · 31/12/2018 17:26

@CookieWaffle oh gosh hun, was that your booking in appointment? It does seem really odd they don't confirm anything in some areas, i assumed they would do a blood test at least.

How many weeks are you now?

CookieWaffle · 31/12/2018 17:42

@EltzBee I think so, I'm not really sure! Next step is a consultant appt (as i'm over 40) and a scan both at 12 weeks so another 4 weeks before I talk to anyone else! I'm 8+4 today. Apparently the FRER i did over a month ago was enough!
