Midwife called this morning and will be seeing them Monday!

MrsM2017 · 27/12/2018 15:58

Hi all, Happy Christmas to you all! I hope you don't mind me jumping on too but I recognise some of you from the TTC boards 😊

Got our bfp on 5th December on our 19th cycle of trying and pretty much been in queit disbelief since then! 😂 Currently 7 weeks and 3 days and over analysing every twinge and got some horrible yucky symptoms but hubby and I are soooo excited!

I used the self referral form online to get in touch with the midwife and got a date for our 12 week scan through (for 1st February - which seems so long to wait!) I'm actually considering getting an early scan at a private place near me at 9 weeks - just to help us believe there really is a baby there! Has anyone else had an early scan?

mrsof20118 · 27/12/2018 16:03

Hey @MrsM2017. We booked a private scan for 8 weeks ish and would definitely recommend for reassurance. X

MrsM2017 · 27/12/2018 16:19

Aww lovely, thank you @mrsof20118 and congratulations to you 💕

ChaosMoon · 27/12/2018 17:27

Oh no, sorry it didn't go to plan when you told people @CookieWaffle. I'll never get why anyone would joke about that. And @Crossfitgirl I hope you find a time to tell your friends soon.

Congratulations @MrsM2017! I had to have an early scan as I had a bleed. It was nice, but tbh I still didn't feel 100% secure until it was kicking. Now at 25 and 4 and its constantly jumping on my bladder, which is reassuring... 😂

Crossfitgirl · 27/12/2018 18:02

Congratulations @mrsm20117 I'm 7+4 today we are very close!

I've been at work today then to my booking appt and it's killed me. Had to come to bed and DH bless him has brought me a jacket potato in bed. I feel so shit now. I feel sick but wish I could just be sick to feel better!

How's everyone else feeling?

My girlfriends are currently arranging drinks in Leeds at the weekend. I feel so awful I kinda just want to WhatsApp them all back and just tell them I'm preggo and be done with it.

mrsof20118 · 27/12/2018 19:48

@Crossfitgirl do you think you'll tell them? I ended up telling my close friends as didn't want to be lying to them I'm a terrible liar anyway. They knew about my previous early mc and I figured I would need their support if the worst happened again xx

Crossfitgirl · 27/12/2018 20:02

@mrsof20118 yes I had planned on telling them, I just wanted to do it face to face. Was going to the other night but my friends OH gatecrashed! I feel slightly better having eaten and been in bed all evening so feel maybe I can wait to tell them when I see them. I just want to have a proper moan about feeling so poo and I can't! Haha.

Another friend wants to meet me on Saturday, I want to ask her to come to me rather than me go to her so that if I only want plain crackers I'm not going to offend her cooking, and so if I feel nauseaus I don't have to drive... I haven't replied yet as I don't want to lie or seem like a lazy friend who cba to go out of my way! Lol.
It's so hard isn't it, I hate lying but I alps don't feel like seeing anyone at all to be honest. do you think telling friends over text or WhatsApp is an OK way to break it?

SullyWifey · 27/12/2018 20:31

@Crossfitgirl if they are your best friends then I'm sure they would just call you straight away. Can you arrange a group video call? Or send them a little video explaining everything. Might feel bit more than just a message xxx

Crossfitgirl · 27/12/2018 20:36

@sullywifey yeah that's not a bad idea. We're one of those anti social friendship groups with a WhatsApp group and we just text all the time so nobody tends to phone anymore lol, and so face to face seemed better. But if I continue to feel shitty it might be a while before I see anyone so the video call is a good shout!
How are you feeling at the mo? Has the sickness settled at all? Xxx

CobaltRose96 · 28/12/2018 00:01

29+5 today! Almost 30 weeks Shock

Had my 28 week appointment today (despite being almost 30 weeks Grin).

Unfortunately my bump hasn't grown since my last midwife appointment three weeks ago, so I've been referred for a growth scan, which is on Monday. I'm still feeling lots of movement so trying not to worry, but it's hard to not think of worst case scenarios Sad

Crossfitgirl · 28/12/2018 14:40

@cobaltrose96 I hope your scan goes OK, it must be a good thing you're feeling lots of movement. Maybe the baby is saving it up for a growth spurt in week 30!
I know it must be so hard not to worry though. Everything is so unknown. Did the midwife say why it might still be the same size? Fingers crossed everything is fine xxx

I had a little bit of pink spotting this morning but it seems to have disappeared now. My MW said its nothing to worry so trusting her on that!

Does anyone else feel utterly exhausted? I've rung in sick today cos I feel so tired and dithery. Went to bed at about 5pm last night and still slept the night through.

MrsM2017 · 28/12/2018 16:13

Aww wow @Crossfitgirl we're very close! Must be due around the same time! 😊 Know what you mean with the sickness and exhaustion too! I've been really nauseous (although not actually sick) for the past week and a half ish so Xmas was fun - especially as we aren't telling family yet. Also having regular naps and early bed times - so grateful to have a couple of days off work or not sure how I'd cope!
Sounds good that your spotting has stopped - my sister in law had random spotting throughout her first trimester and all was fine so I'm sure it's nothing.

Can I ask about your booking appointment? When did you get that through? I've had no contact from a midwife yet? Not sure if that's normal?! 😂

Crossfitgirl · 28/12/2018 16:37

@mrsm2017 oh I'm glad it's not just me. I'm the same, but I actually feel more exhausted than nauseous at the moment! I'm due 11th August so I guess you're due on the 12th?

Yeah sure, when I got my BFP my GP just told me to ring the midwife and self refer, so I rang them and they gave me my booking appointment over the phone there and then - so I didn't have to wait for a call back or anything.
@sunshine1987 had the same as you though and didn't hear anything for ages. Have you got a number to ring them and chase? Xxx

sunshine1987 · 28/12/2018 18:19

@mrsm2017 would give the midwife herself a direct call. I ended up chasing and they thought I was only 6 weeks pregnant instead of 8, and then had to quickly fit me in. Though if you’ve got your date scan through that’s great as I won’t get that processed until after the booking in appointment which was the worry. So you’ll be on their radar regardless at the moment if you’ve got that, but would still call x

CookieWaffle · 28/12/2018 18:45

Mine called me on what would've been 8 weeks that day, I probably would've called sometime that day if they hadn't.

Oh this sickness is rubbish. Just threw up a bit and at least that's made me feel a little better but I know it won't last. Apparently my mum only had it the first time so hopefully if we did another it would be easier than this!

SullyWifey · 29/12/2018 10:35

@Crossfitgirl sorry for the delay in getting back. I have been awful with my phone lately because I often feel too nauseous to look at it!

The sickness did complexity settle down for a few days and I was convinced it had gone, then came back with vengeance few days later! Had an awful cough for over a week so that's just been shit. Iv been off work for the holidays anyway but feel like al I have done is sleep, as I too am constantly exhausted. Feel so pathetic already!! But just embracing the moments I feel human!

Have you made any progress with telling your friends??

Scan tomorrow. So. Nervous. So. Excited xxxx

mrsof20118 · 29/12/2018 11:19

Hope you are all well. Had my booking in appointment yesterday and I've put on half a stone since my last known weight. Could be partly due to not going to the gym as much but could also be this pregnancy bloat. My boobs also feel massive at the moment.
Started going back to gym classes now a few times a week as the sickness seems to have passed and think it'll help with giving me more energy too. I'm not against gaining a healthy weight but I'm only 5ft so 1/2 stone is quite a lot already for me!

Delilah7 · 29/12/2018 11:36

@SullyWifey I got my 12 week scan New Year's Eve and I'm nervous too Hun xx

My sickness is back too. HG sucks!

mrsof20118 · 29/12/2018 12:53

@Delilah7 did you manage to have a good Christmas break despite the sickness?

Delilah7 · 29/12/2018 13:00

@mrsof20118 apart from being exhausted and actually having to try do things yes I guess so. Just feel bad as I feel this Xmas was ruined due to how I was feeling :( couldn't have the dinner at ours so others had to have it at their home

MrsEG · 29/12/2018 14:00

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is good - I recognise most of the names here! So very exciting, I got my BFP on xmas eve. CB Digital was positive on the 27th so it all seems real now! As you ladies are much further on, wondering if you can help on the symptom front?!

I’ve been having very mild cramps, almost tightness in my abdomen and sore boobs (mostly the nipples) but the thing that concerns me most is I often feel wet ‘down there’ - I find I’m constantly rushing to the loo to check all is well (it always is!), especially as I had an early MC in October. So I’m finding I’m still quite nervous about it all, but doing all I can to stay positive and not stress!

Saw my GP yesterday who was fab - she advised against blood tests to check HCG levels (she thinks they cause more anxiety than they alleviate) but recommended an early scan around 7 weeks - has anyone else done this?

sunshine1987 · 29/12/2018 14:11

@mrseg massive congrats and welcome! I felt ‘wet’ for a good week or so, my brain played a lot of tricks on me. I had an early scan at 7+6, definitely couldn’t have waited until 13 weeks for the main scan. Definetely reccomend. After 7 weeks their should be a heartbeat which is magical 💜

mrsof20118 · 29/12/2018 14:13

Congrats @MrsEG. From experience the knicker checking subsides a bit but sometimes you get a rush of something and get panicky but all been ok so far. I think it's normal to get a lot of cm to keep infections out.

MrsEG · 29/12/2018 14:19

@sunshine1987 @mrsof20118 Thanks both, very reassuring! Hope you’re both doing well :)
