We've run out of room so let's start again.

New people welcome. The group aims to support those who are pregnant post difficulty.

All are welcome - we are aimed at 12 week plus as those early weeks are a different kind of roller coaster and another group exists for support then. However you are welcome here too if you want to join.

Some of us have been here a while and nearly ready to pop. Others already had their babies.

Welcome one and all xxx

@felicityheather just been given the all clear. Just the baby stopping me from breathing so that's fine. Hopefully won't go post dates as I'm not sure if I can handle 9 more weeks.

Fox23 · 20/12/2018 19:45

@emalady that’s amazing news!!!! Hopefully your baby starts behaving and gives mummy little break 😁
So, who is next? I’ve lost track on what’s happening!
My little one is 7 weeks tomorrow and I just can’t believe how time is flying! She now sleeps pretty much every night through and is smiling and trying to laugh and making funny noises

Barcelo18 · 20/12/2018 20:46

@emalady fantastic news, hopefully you an relax a little now. Seven weeks will be over in no time especially once Christmas and the new year is out of the way. My little bundle is two weeks old today and is very little trouble at all, he does wake us a couple of times through the night but my dh snd I are taking it in turns whilst he’s on paternity for a month, however I just love getting up with him in the small hours when it’s quiet and it’s just the two of us. It’s just the most beautiful feeling. However two weeks on from my cs I’m still in quite a lot of pain with my scar. My strong painkillers ran out a few days and so am thinking of calling my drs to see if they will give me a repeat prescription. Did anyone else have a cs and if so how long did you stay on the stronger painkillers and how did you know if you were doing too much ?

Fox23 · 20/12/2018 22:38

@Barcelo18 congratulations on two week Birthday 🎁💐
Regarding my cs- Anesthetics stopped working during the op so I nearly hit the ceiling so they had to knock me out. Plus it resulted in substantial bleeding... however in spite of all that I actually was never in pain once I woke up. I took all the meds because they were worried about blood loss, potential complications etc... but I never was in any pain. So the first morning I was walking around carrying baby whilst my knackered DH was asleep in my bed 😊 I was very lucky, I’m very aware of that. I wish I had advise for you.

Janefx40 · 20/12/2018 23:47

@Barcelo18 I'm sorry you are in pain. Sounds like you should def get more meds. Glad your baby is all good tho.

@emalady sorry not to respond earlier in the week. Been a crazy one. Glad you have got the all clear. What a relief. Hopefully it will ease up a little over time and you don't have 9 weeks of this!

Xxx

So lovely to hear the babies are doing well.

@Fox I still have 12 weeks till due date. But actually look pregnant now and getting sore. Doing ok though.

@Janefx40 when are you due again? Xx

emalady · 21/12/2018 11:33

Thanks all! I'm really hoping she will drop a bit soon and make breathing a bit easier. Definitely going to start the pre labour acupuncture as soon as possible to try and encourage her down! Only 4 days of work after today!! Woop!

@Barcelo18 happy 2 weeks, glad you are having an OK time. Sorry you are in pain. Definitely worth speaking to someone, might be worth a check up just to see if there is any sign of infection if the pain isn't settling.

@fox23 7 weeks already! Wow! Nice to hear it seems things settle into a bit of a rhythm reasonably soon.

Aliona19 · 21/12/2018 19:41

@Barcelo18 hey. I was taking paracetamol and ibuprofen for a week and then felt like I was ok. Wrong. Few days later started to take them again. But after about 3 weeks I felt so much better and could walk fast without pain. It’s 7 weeks post csection and it doesn’t hurt, unless I am lifting baby while sitting down for example. Or little tender after pushing shopping trolley. At 5 weeks I had to hold my friends baby (8 kg) for a few minutes and later on in the evening i had bad pains back.. so be careful, just lift your baby and that’s it. Recovery takes a while. U will know when you ready to do more x

Janefx40 · 21/12/2018 22:35

@Beherenow32 I am due 18th Jan but if we have the c-section will be a week earlier. Find out for sure on Monday x

Fox23 · 21/12/2018 23:28

@Janefx40 are you next to have your baby?

Janefx40 · 23/12/2018 08:20

@Fox23 not sure - @SouthernBella74 is technically a day ahead of me but if I have the c-section then I will queue jump. Find out Monday.

It's pretty soon either way!!!

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 24/12/2018 14:37

@SouthernBella74 hope your appt goes well.

I just had my scan and placenta has moved which means I don't have to have a c section. Not sure how I feel about that now. Feel like I had my head in gear for c section and now I'm feeling unprepared for natural labour!

Xxx

OP posts:
Aliona19 · 24/12/2018 14:58

@Janefx40 I felt same about section. Was getting ready for natural birth and wasn’t prepared for c section. But truth is-you are going to be just fine and do a great job!!
Merry xmas everyone! X

Liverpool19 · 25/12/2018 04:36

jane you can still ask for a section if that’s what you really want. Just think one way or another your little girl has to come out 😂

Have a lovely Christmas everyone. What a year we have had.

X

Fox23 · 25/12/2018 06:03

@Janefx40 I agree with other girls- you don’t have to have natural or c section. It’s up to you to chose.
I wish everybody very Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year!!! We have all had incredible year full of tears, challenges and unbelievable joy- let’s all have the most amazing 2019 💕🎁 🌲 ❄️ 👶
Lots of love xxxxx

SouthernBella74 · 25/12/2018 09:44

@janefx40, glad your placenta has moved, but I appreciate being geared up for one type of delivery & that changing can be hard to get your head around. But you have a couple of weeks to think & decide. 😊

My appointment yesterday went well. Had a scan & saw baby one last time. Baby is growing, but the sonographer highlighted that the fluid levels were on the high side...which this late in the game may mean the baby could come early. 😳 Then met with a consultant to discuss induction options. She was pretty open & transparent, which was good. I still haven’t decided completely, as want to avoid having an epidural, but may provisionally book a date just so it’s there. 😬

I hope everyone is doing well and wish you all a very happy Christmas and a fab start to 2019! 🎄🎅🤶

Janefx40 · 25/12/2018 16:03

Happy Christmas one and all

@SouthernBella74 I got the induction talk yesterday too. Have booked it just so we have a slot. Early baby eh?! Exciting

Love to you all

My last consultant appointment was in some ways reassuring, they don't want to induce me at term but will if I'm very keen. I was happy as have been worried about induction and increased intervention but now I'm worried about the pregnancy. I'm not sure I can handle another 6 weeks, definitely not keen on 8 more weeks! Hopefully she will put in an appearance before that on her own.

Janefx40 · 28/12/2018 08:56

@emalady glad there was some reassurance at least. If you feel induction is right for you, then definitely ask for it. We all have different experiences with pregnancy and different things are right for each of us.

I have to be induced and personally I don't think induction sounds right for me (but it is safer for the baby in my case). The consultant who was telling me I had to be induced made it sound potentially quite horrid. I know there are some women on here who have had more positive experiences with induction tho. It's also because I'm older so they won't let me go home during the early stages as some women have. So I'll just be stuck there on the labour ward surrounded by a little curtain with limited space to move around and no bath! I was banking on the bath to keep me sane and relaxed.

Hopefully your little one will come on time anyway (and mine will make an early appearance and not need to be induced)

I also find it takes me a few days to process new information like c-section/no c-section etc. So hopefully your choice will become clearer over the next few days

Happy New Year Girls!
It’s been little quiet on this thread recently. How are you all doing? Any of you due any day?
@Janefx40 and @SouthernBella74
I think you are due next week or week after?
Anything exciting happened during festive break?

Beherenow32 · 04/01/2019 18:22

@Fox23 happy new year. How is things with you and baby?
I’ve not been on the thread much as I feel like everyone is so far ahead of me! I’m now 30 weeks and feeling tired, sore and heavy 🙈
Noticed that although I’m feeling her moving still, it’s less often and more gentle. Will keep an eye on that but I’ll prob worry no matter what.

Hope everyone else doing ok x

Beherenow32 · 04/01/2019 18:38

@Fox23 oh I had my 4d scan over Xmas which was lovely. Still didn’t make it anymore real! You?

Fox23 · 04/01/2019 19:15

@Beherenow32 wow! 30 weeks already?? That’s almost there! I won’t say time will fly.. but looking back it does. Didn’t feel like it at the time tho 😂
Any “fun” symptoms except for waddling and constant beef to pee? Oh so glamorous 😂😂😂
Me... I’m loving the whole experience but... oh boy it’s relentless and absolutely knackering and joyous and frustrating 🤦‍♀️
She is all good- she loves playing with rattles and cot mobile and she sleeps all night nowadays.
Me on other hand- my body looks like it’s been through war, skin is still numb around the scar. I found some time to shave one leg about three days ago. The other leg I shaved this morning.... Haven’t washed my hair in over a week and daily shower is a thing of a past. Yeah, I do need to find my inner sexy soon

Barcelo18 · 04/01/2019 20:12

So lovely to hear everyone is doing ok. I found my baby loved less during the later stages due to the change of position but I would advise you to go and get checked for peace of mind for you. My little boy is 4 weeks 1 day old now and the past few weeks just seem a blur. It was my first day of flying solo as my husband went back to work after a month off and I must say I found I did ok. The frustrating thing for me with having a c section was not being able to do everything straight away and having to rely on my husband for a lot. I still have bruising coming out 4 weeks later but it’s sll worth it when I see his gorgeous little face.

Beherenow32 · 04/01/2019 20:22

@Fox23 tbh, just so exhausted and drained (I’m anaemic too). 6 weeks left of work though. Could start maternity leave now! But I know I would regret that later!
Sounds like you’re doing a great job. They are worries of mine too, getting out the house, even just brushing my hair! I suppose you will get into a routine as time goes on- but all that matters is everyone is happy 😊

@Barcelo18 did you ever phone triage for movment? It’s so hard to judge... today I’ve felt tiny flutters a couple of times, so my instincts say she has just moved.

Xx
