We've run out of room so let's start again.

New people welcome. The group aims to support those who are pregnant post difficulty.

All are welcome - we are aimed at 12 week plus as those early weeks are a different kind of roller coaster and another group exists for support then. However you are welcome here too if you want to join.

Some of us have been here a while and nearly ready to pop. Others already had their babies.

Welcome one and all xxx

When will they let you go home?

beanhunter · 26/11/2018 11:50

Congratulations xx

Liverpool19 · 26/11/2018 12:59

Thanks everyone. We are going home in a couple of hours after he’s had a bath. I can’t believe how fast he came out!! 8 hours between getting a first proper contraction and final push not bad going for my first child 😂 x

Beherenow32 · 26/11/2018 14:09

@Liverpool19 the best news! Congrats xx

Aliona19 · 26/11/2018 14:26

Huge congratulations @liverpool19, what lovely news. I’ve been for another scan this morning and the consultants have decided they will induce me on Monday. They gave me an internal today and arid my cervix is soft but not open and will reieat this this week with a view to foing a stretch and sweep should my cervix be open then. Suddenly it all feels very real !!!

Liverpool19 · 27/11/2018 14:02

barcelo how are you being induced? Mine was completely fine. The propess made my cervix paper thin then when they took it out my body done the rest. I hope yours is as quick as mine. Good luck! X

Barcelo18 · 27/11/2018 14:45

I have absolutely no idea. I just need to ring on Monday at 1500 hours and they will give me a time to go in on Monday which seems odd. They have told me to get bouncing on my ball and hopefully things might start naturally before then. How is life with your little boy ?

Liverpool19 · 27/11/2018 15:19

Sounds like they might be keeping you in then. Everywere does it different don’t they. Sounds like you are having a night induction. It’s really good still feels a bit weird that he is here 😂😂 x

Barcelo18 · 27/11/2018 15:58

Ah yes I know that bit. They have said to prepare myself for a stay in hospital anywhere between 1 to 6 days which sounds like madness to me. Are you at home settling into your new life now then ?

beanhunter · 27/11/2018 17:01

Sounds reasonable Barcelo. I went in on a Friday night to be induced. Small one born Sunday/Monday and then in until Thursday to establish feeding as she lost weight.

Barcelo18 · 27/11/2018 17:14

@beanhunter when you say it like that it makes total sense I was just shocked when he said prepare yourself for a 1 to 6 day stay x

Liverpool19 · 27/11/2018 18:44

Yes barcelo we were home within 12 hours. They said I could stay if I wanted to but there was no reason for me too so I left. I think if there had been problems I’d of had to stay. X

Janefx40 · 27/11/2018 19:37

@Liverpool19 it's just so amazing to hear you talking about your baby and to realise your birthing is all done and dusted! I remember your positive text and now there's a boy

@Barcelo18 get bouncing and we may have another by the end of the weekend!!! Or else Monday is coming around soon

Love to everyone xxx

@liverpool19 congratulations, wonderful news, glad he arrived safe and sound. Nice and quick too.

@Barcelo18 good luck getting things moving.

I've got 6 weeks of work left, hopefully getting to meet my little girl within the next 10 weeks. 3/4 of the way through. 10 weeks feels like ages but it's going really quickly. Can't believe there will be a whole new human soon.

Janefx40 · 28/11/2018 10:48

I know @emalady it is surreal isn't it!! 6 weeks isn't long at all

Just went on a tour of the labour unit, birth centre etc at the hospital we have chosen. Really nice! I thought it would be nice but good to see it especially as the other possible hospital I went round was awful!!! Glad I picked this one. I could be there for a couple of days after the c section so good to get the feel of the place

Hope you're all doing well

X

@janefx40 I'm not sure if we are going to be able to look around our maternity unit, it would be nice to know where things are. Might ask at my next consultant appointment.

Health visitor is coming tomorrow, not quite sure what to expect, hopefully will be ok.

Fox23 · 01/12/2018 11:23

Morning girls!
How is everybody doing? Been bit quiet recently here!
@Aliona19 happy first month Birthday to your little one! 🥳
@Barcelo18 any updates? How are you feeling about Monday?
@liverpool19 how is it going? How is the baby? Hope you are loving it 🥰 it’s just so wonderful!
@emalady how did it go with heath visitor?
@Janefx40 how are you keeping up? Not long for you left! Glad you liked the birthing facilities! It’s such an important time and it’s great to be in the place you like.

Aliona19 · 01/12/2018 16:41

@Fox23 aww thank you for remembering 🤗 I am lost in time, days and nights all mixed up. This little chunk of pure poop and happiness just refusing to sleep at night 🤣 I am losing my marbles a little. How r you getting on?? Sleeping much? 😅

Fox23 · 01/12/2018 16:55

@Aliona19 my little girl is actually little dream. She goes to “night” sleep at 9 every night. Quick food/nappy change at 1-ish and 4-5-ish and then she wakes up ready for the day at 7.
Seriously I know it may change but i keep my fingers crossed she doesn’t change her habits!!!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
So I’m not really losing much sleep or sanity... but I find it very lonely and there are moments I just need adult human interaction.

Aliona19 · 01/12/2018 17:02

@Fox23 oh wow tell me your secret 😂 I don’t mind getting up to feed her, it’s just she won’t go back to sleep after a feed. Some she can wake up at 1 and not back to sleep till like 6 am. She will sleep on me, not the bed 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nightmare.
Lonely huh. Know what u mean. First 2 weeks I didn’t want any interactions, but now starting to feel like a feeding machine and nothing else 😆 really forgetting I am a woman. Need to go to embassy on Friday and have no idea how to take little one with me 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Have no one to look after her. Hard without family huh? 😏😏 r you going for walks or anything like that?

Fox23 · 01/12/2018 18:16

@Aliona19 my secret? There isn’t one... I just keep her in living room all day and at 9pm I wheel her chicco + Sleepyhead into dark bedroom and while I’m watching I’m Celebrity I feed her and no more interaction. At night I feed her and change in almost dark (just little night light) and straight back to bed. Usually I fall asleep before she does! 😆😆😆 all the fun and games I leave for daytime.
My girl is refusing breast so bottle feeding for us. Not too happy about it but I have no choice. I agree, not easy without support but it is what it is and I just have to learn to live with it. So far so good. Can’t wait to be able to drive. Two more weeks.... 🚗
(Insurance doesn’t allow for 6 weeks after c section)
You’ll be ok with embassy visit. Do you have the carry thing? The one where you strap them to yourself? I use it when I have different appointments and pram is too much.
