how long after sex will a test show to say your pregnantas had light line

had sex on the early hours of thursday,took morning after pill on friday at 3.00 took a pregnanty test today and its come up a dark line then a light line in the result window i dont understand??my periods are all over the place but my last one was the 12 of may.....any idears or exprinces

If you are preg I suspect it is not from the sex you had on Thursday. I think you should go and see your GP.

a pregnancy test would not show postive 4 dayss later, if you are pregnant then its happened before thursday

earliest i have tested positive was 5 days before i was due

vvvvvvv - if the sex was nearly 2 weeks ago then a line could easily appear on a test. Seems that you are pregnant! But if you are on the pill, presumably this is not the plan?

well it sounds like you could well be pregnant (MAP didn't work for me either!) were you unwell at all after taking the MAP?

no i wasnt ill at all but i had milk or something leaking from my breasts,it was the morning after pill i took obv never worked as i say it will be 2 weeks tomorrow and the line is very light i did 2 tests so i must be.

milk at a few weeks pg? I've never heard of that but that's not to say it's not possible

In my job we do preg testing. Generally we say you can have false negatives but false positives are very rare. A Dr also told me that any line counts, even if very feint.

no milk dont sound normal it wasnt milk prob it was coz of themorning after pill prob?

if you are getting a positive it's not from sex on thurs. and milk from your breasts suggests you have a hormone imbalance, not pregnancy

why did you take the morning after pill if you are trying to concieve??

if you got a positive then you could be pg but it wouldn't be from thurs it would be from before so you need to find out and then find out what the risks are from taking the morning after pill if you are already pg.

i know that milk from breasts can mean a hormone imbalance, i think it's prolactin, whether this would cause a false positive,i don't know. you could ask your gp?

My friend took a MAP and still got pregnant.

I fell pregnant after taking the MAP, I ended up with an etopic pregnancy. If you have fallen pregnant after taking the MAP, please get to a GP.

Hi I agree with Sparkleygothkat I took map and had an ectopic.. go and see your gp and make sure they take you seriously.. you'll know if something isn't right so trust your instincts.. goodluck x

if she took it on fri and the test is already positive, then she must have already been pg tho??

My friend leaked a little from her breasts, the month after she came off the pill, then had a period, then concieved the next month so it was an imbalance in her case too.

she said she had sex on the 7th, and took the MAP on the 8th, so 11 days ago, and yes a test can show postive after 10 days
