how long after sex will a test show to say your pregnantas had light line

had sex on the early hours of thursday,took morning after pill on friday at 3.00 took a pregnanty test today and its come up a dark line then a light line in the result window i dont understand??my periods are all over the place but my last one was the 12 of may.....any idears or exprinces

if you are pregnant (which for some strange reason i don't think you are ) then it is from the last sex you had. if it was from the sex you had with (i'm assuming) your husband, previous to that, then something would be showing on your scan and your hormone levels would be higher than that.

i don't know what's going on for you tbh. what did they say at the hospital? you are or you aren't pregnant? they know better than we do.

the whole situation sounds very odd to me tbh

yeah thanks as i have the answer to my question,not bothered if fell pregnant later or sooner just wondering.but prob later like 2 wks ago as my breast have only started to get very heavy and sore,also going a wee in the nite.and the test was very very faint just about see it so it must be very early days.

your husband has been back for 6 weeks? so if you are a lot less than 6 weeks pg (which you must be) then what's the problem?

no prob just wondering coz the baby never showed up on the scan nither did a sack so if i was 4 then the sack should of bben there if im only 2 wks after sex then that explains why it never showed that why ok so why keep on tryin to question me what is wrong with you? only asking for advice thats all

i told you aready at the hospital they said im pregnant but nothing showed up on the scan not even a sac? so they took blood and the result was 82 hormone level that is if i wasnt pregnant my levels would be 2,i had another blood test today and was told to wait till monday for my results if they have doulbed then its a normal pregnancy if it has only gone up a bit its ectopic understand abit better now?

and for your information - if you concieved 2 weeks ago then that would make you 4 weeks pregnant. get it right

oh would it i never new thatso when they say you can do a test after 4 wks really its 2 but they say four? im not argueing with anyone on here like all.

you count your pregnancy from your the start of your last period, not from when you got pregnant. Due to this everything based on pregnancy is based on the assumption you have a 4 week cycle and that you conceived 14 days after the start of your previous cycle. However some people ovulate and therefore conceive earlier or later than this which is why dating scans can show up different dates etc. HTH

vvvvvv i hope you don't mind me asking but don't you already have a little girl, only reason I ask is that you seem to be very new to ttc with the questions you are asking. I really would recommend maybe getting a book, it helped me loads and talks you through all the pregnany process...saying that I am still worrying 24/7 until I am, 12 weeks!

if your HCG level was 82, that is extremely low

at 4 + weeks pregnant, ie 2 weeks after conception, it might not be possible to see anything on a scan

and i think you should maybe try to understand why people are of you

also, not a single person here can tell you if you are pregnant or not

i sincerely hope that everything works out for you, if this is a real thread then i hope that you are pg, this is not ectopic and you have a happy life. however having searched your name im a bit wary tbh.

Re hcg levels found this www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html#hcg it suggests that if you are then your next bloods should show sharp rise. The 82 might be ok if you are a little off with dates.

At 4+3 they saw gestational sac with me but to early to see embryo.

Tbh I think you should relax, wait for results and look after yourself. If your are pregnant and it is viable then that should be the case in a few weeks time too. I understand the ttc is hard (have been there) but perhaps try and get absorbed into something else for a while and then see what happens with this possible pregnancy.

read rhe link. Quite easy. If 3.5 weeks 50, if 4 weeks 100 so 82 is somewhere inbetween.

82 doesn't sound right for a viable pregnancy. how long since your last period?

had my tests bk today you might not think it sounds right but it sure is as im def pregnant.my hormone level was 82 as i said on wed and on friday i had another teast done got the results today its 277 i have another scaN on tuesday 3. will let you all know.thanks for all the help too,
