No sickness = boy? Any truth in this?

Hi all,

I was told today that lack of morning/noon/night sickness usually means you're having a boy. I'm 8+4 with my first baby and desperate for a girl (if we're having a boy I'll be delighted as long as he's healthy).

Does anyone know how much truth there is in this theory? I get ocasional, mild waves of nausea but not been sick or anyhting close. Two friends have said they're convinced we're having a boy on that basis! Your thoughts please?

No two girls and never sick.symptoms depend on the individual!!

Ceilingrose · 28/10/2018 15:10

Absolutely none. I had shocking sickness, boy or girl.

grace7 · 28/10/2018 15:12

Don't know, I had no sickness or nausea and had a boy. But I know people who have been equally lucky and had a daughter.

First pregnancy, morning sickness not HG didn't need medication, girl

Second pregnancy, HG nearly ended up on hospital and needed medication for it, boy

Third pregnancy, on HG meds already and don't know if it's a blue or pink one or even twins yet!

DinoDansMum · 28/10/2018 16:04

No sickness with either ( one of each) but lost hair on my legs with DS

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 28/10/2018 16:06

WAs sick constantly-hopsitalised at one point-with DS.

And I bet if Kate Middleton on here she'd say the same Grin

luck & inheritance - 3 dc & I was Lucky enough never to have been sick not all boys! & Duchesse of Cambridge was sick with all her dc wasn't she?

QuilliamCakespeare · 28/10/2018 16:12

I was sick with #1 and not with #2. Both boys.

boomboo · 28/10/2018 16:17

I've had two boys; first no sickness very easy.
Second sick everyday until 34 weeks

Strawberry2017 · 28/10/2018 16:27

No sickness and have a 10 month old girl! X

InfiniteCurve · 28/10/2018 17:02

I felt just the same in each of my pregnancies - 2 girls,1 boy,1 blighted ovum.

KateTTC123 · 28/10/2018 17:04

I was sick as a dog with ds until week 17. Don't know what I'm having yet this time but I'm equally sick again. Don't think gender plays any part in it.

Penguinsetpandas · 28/10/2018 17:06

About 50% accurate. Grin No sickness in either 1 girl, 1 boy. Friend had severe morning sickness 3 boys.

marie201 · 28/10/2018 17:08

Suffered with nausea all the way through both of my boys pregnancies and only for a week or 2 with all 3 girls so for me I'm the opposite but then I also carry all at the front for girls and all the way around for boys.

Penguinsetpandas · 28/10/2018 17:08

I craved lemon and lime like crazy with my boy, he eats them now as they are.

OutPinked · 28/10/2018 17:23

Opposite for me. I had zero sickness at all with my DD’s and terrible all day nausea/vomiting with my DS’s. I knew this pregnancy was a boy purely because of the nausea!

Willow1992 · 28/10/2018 17:32

Nah, another one here who had bad sickness with a boy.

I looked this up once, and I remember reading that a study had found a tiny percentage more girls being born to mum's with sickness. So there is some tiny truth in it, but hardly.

Lostoldusername · 28/10/2018 18:36

Hideous sickness/nausea morning noon and night with both mine. They were both boys!
Didn't have any hair on my legs with them though....

BillywigSting · 28/10/2018 18:38

Nope. Relentless nausea until about an hour before ds was born.

It was my first sign I was pregnant

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 28/10/2018 19:19

I was regularly sick and extremely nauseous 24/7 with my first pregnancy (a boy) until about half way through. I've been equally (if not more) sick second time around, with the constant nausea again. Don't know what I'm having, but I think it's another boy!

LittleDoveLove · 28/10/2018 21:43

I had terrible nausea and motion sickness for weeks and I'm having a boy.

universe00 · 28/10/2018 22:03

Untrue
I think you either get it or you don't I have a boy and a girl and had no sickness what so ever with both

Lilbear14 · 28/10/2018 22:11

First pregnancy, 2 weeks morning sickness around 9 - 11 weeks, other than that no symptoms..and baby was a boy.

Second 0 morning sickness or nausea, next to no symptoms also a baby boy.

Third and current pregnancy every symptom under the sun apart from sickness. I've had really bad nausea but no actual sickness yet. .won't find out until around Christmas/new year time what this little one is.

Every pregnancy is different, girl or boy...would love to be able to predict by symptoms. I would be 100% saying girl this time.

unicornchaser · 29/10/2018 01:10

Not a single episode of sickness in my entire pregnancy - 40 weeks Tuesday - with almost non existent nausea. I'm having a boy. It was what made me and most others guess it was a boy too.

JellycatElfie · 29/10/2018 08:11

No real sickness with my first, nausea lasted till about 15 weeks. I looked good, glowing skin, thick shiny hair and had buckets of energy! I had a boy.
Second pregnancy I was off my legs with nausea, stayed in bed for 4 weeks, I’ve been drained all the way through and am currently 36+3. Having another boy!
