For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

Well the midwife couldn't even get to my cervix so that sweep went well 😂🙈

RowenaDedalus · 05/10/2018 17:11

Grin I feel your pain Surreygirl! Do you have another one booked in?

surreygirl1987 · 05/10/2018 18:33

Yeh Wednesday... And then induction booked for Friday if that doesn't work 😩 mw didn't seem very convinced that anything's going to happen any time soon!

RowenaDedalus · 05/10/2018 19:18

Seems like we are having very similar experiences! FIngers crossed the babies start making their own ways out.

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 08:59

So, still very much pg here.

What does everyone have planned for today?

Taking 4yr old for his swimming lesson later this morning

surreygirl1987 · 06/10/2018 09:26

Going for a walk with dh... And out for spicy spicy curry this eve!

NakedMum33and3rd · 06/10/2018 10:55

Has anyone heard from op?
My little DS is 7 days old today. I can't believe how quickly this week has gone.

I'm not feeling great. I've developed postpartum anaemia so feeling really low. Just at the midwife now.

MaverickSnoopy · 06/10/2018 11:38

Oh Naked try and rest as much as you can - also lots of leafy green veg and some steak too. I really rate floradix (you can get it in most supermarkets and also Holland and Barrett) as it is good for iron and fatigue. It's great stuff.

I haven't heard from OP...bit worried...hope she's OK.

I'm due today. Had strong contractions last night every 20 mins but they stopped overnight. Had my sweep this morning - baby is still a bit back to back, I'm 3cm and waters bulging a bit. I did bleed quite a bit after so the midwife told me to monitor and if it continues I need to call the hospital. Currently in bed with hot water bottle and cramps (effects of sweep) trying to muster some energy to move.

NakedMum33and3rd · 06/10/2018 12:55

Sound promising maverick! That's how I was after my sweep and went into labour the next day.

Really hope op is ok.

twobambinos · 06/10/2018 13:07

@surreygirl1987 on my last pregnancy I had a sweep at t +8 and was given date for induction because they said there was nothing at all going to happen. 24 hours later did was born so fingers crossed you never know.

surreygirl1987 · 06/10/2018 13:20

@maverick sounds very promising!!
@twobambinos that's very encouraging :)

afloat · 06/10/2018 13:58

Maverick I hope you're feeling comfortable.

I'm having a strange pattern - my BH have ramped up into frequent and intense but not painful contractions that are almost not dying down, for the past few hours. Went for a hike and they continued throughout. Doesn't feel like labour but feels like something!

s2204 · 06/10/2018 14:27

I had my sweep Thursday, woke up Friday morning with mild cramps, which got stronger within no time, 2 hours later went hospital and was 10cm dilated 😳 DD born an hour later 😍

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 14:35

s2204
Really!
Congratulations 🍾🍾 you doing ok?
Can I ask what weight was?

surreygirl1987 · 06/10/2018 14:45

Oh my goodness! That's so exciting!! You give me hope! Major congratulations- can't believe how fast it all happened!! :)

s2204 · 06/10/2018 15:29

@Foodylicious

She was 7lbs 5oz xx

RowenaDedalus · 06/10/2018 15:42

Wonderful news! Well done you! Enjoy those lovely new born cuddles

MaverickSnoopy · 06/10/2018 15:51

Well my bleeding has continued so I'm currently on a bed in MAU having a trace. They have given me an "inspection" (as DH put it) - torch and all - and apparently there's more blood than they'd like. So they're keeping me in overnight for monitoring. I actually feel like something might be happening...

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 16:10

I had similar with #1 maverick

I was already on antenal then labour ward (had had sweep that morning then gone in around 6pm) and whilst labouring the MW kept checking my pad regularly as I was bleeding "more than they would expect ".

It didn't cause any problems.

Hope you have a productive night Wink

RowenaDedalus · 06/10/2018 16:17

Keep us updated if you’re bored Maverick. I hate it when they put the head torch on! I feel like they’re going caving in there!

All I’m doing is bouncing on my ball getting excited over any and every twinge-
Which always turns out to be nothing.

MaverickSnoopy · 06/10/2018 19:25

Rowena, I wish I was bouncing on my ball!!

I am SO fed up and feel like crying. I know I'm in the right place but I never sleep in hospital and I'm so tired. Am now on the ward after some food in M&S cafe (massive let down that has tipped me into the realms of total despair). I miss my children (my 2yo went for a nap after lunch and I haven't seen her since and she's such a mummies girl). The bleeding has slowed down but they're likely to want to keep me in until tomorrow afternoon/night and my book probably won't last that long. The really shitty thing is that then once I get home I have to do the school run Monday and it's straight on with full on life again!

I'd been having some small contractions but they have mostly stopped now. The midwives seem to think the baby is staying put for the foreseeable which is suitably depressing.

But to put it into perspective the lady in the bay next to me has just been taken to delivery after her baby has pooed. I sat here silently crying for her as her I heard her in total despair and turmoil. I wanted to pop my head around and give her a cuddle but she had her partner and she didn't need a weirdo saying hello! Anyone think it's OK to take her ball?

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 19:30

Ugh, I remember one if the visits I had to mau with #1 Really upsetting me.
I wish they had the resources for individual rooms.
Hope you manage to getvsone rest.

Do you think they might let you go home for a sleep if you agree what to monitor and to go back in first thing?

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 19:31

Not sure they would want you ball bouncing though.
Otherwise I would say yes!

MaverickSnoopy · 06/10/2018 19:48

Well I've taken the ball....I'm not bouncing though, just some gentle rolling. I have awful pgp and sciatica and it really helps with the pain...plus it's helping baby turn.

They won't let me go home to sleep. I'm on four hourly observations unfortunately, so 10pm, 2am, 6am etc. As it happens all of my previous stays in hospital have been in private rooms, I don't sleep in those either. I did ask about a sleeping tablet but was told no. I guessed it would be the case but I had to ask.

Foodylicious · 06/10/2018 19:52

Oh maverick you sound do down.

Wish there was so away to cheer you up Flowers
